Hogwarts: Don't call me the Staff Maker

Chapter 722 Best Candidate

Chapter 722 Best Candidate

Chapter 722 Best Candidate

Since Fred and George rarely come, and Fox hasn't shown up yet, Celen decided not to wait any longer. At noon, he left Diagon Alley with the Weasley brothers and arrived at the Order of the Phoenix's headquarters, Number Twelve Grimmauld Place.

It's as busy as ever here, with people coming and going all the time, only to leave again a few minutes later.

Siren also met Ron and Hermione here.

Harry isn't here; he'll have to stay at the Dursleys' house until he's an adult before he'll be brought here.

Harry never understood why this decision was made, but no one could explain it to him.

Everyone warmly welcomed Shiren's arrival. Before the supposedly important meeting began, Shiren found Ron and Hermione and told them that Dumbledore had found the Horcrux, the Golden Cup.

Both of them knew about Horcruxes and that Voldemort had made six of them. Harry wouldn't hide any information from them—of course, this was also with Dumbledore's consent.

"What did you say? You guys found Hufflepuff's cup?" As expected, Hermione was so surprised she almost jumped up, and Ron stood there speechless, dumbfounded.

"In that case, we've already destroyed it—" Hermione suddenly began to calculate silently.

"Four Horcruxes," Sirius said, speaking up. "If Professor Dumbledore has already destroyed the Cup, then there are exactly four."

"Two left!" Hermione's eyes seemed to light up. "We'll soon be able to destroy all the Horcruxes and completely wipe out Voldemort—no, I have to tell Harry this right away. Have you told him yet?"

"Not yet, but I suggest you don't do it either." Siren stopped Hermione, who was about to go downstairs to get the parchment. "Don't forget, things aren't like they used to be; there's a risk of letters being intercepted."

"Ah, you're right." Hermione stopped too.

It was just that she couldn't share such a happy occasion with her best friend, which made her feel a little sad.

As they spoke, more and more people arrived at Place Grimmauld.

Sirius Black, Lupin, Kingsley, Mad-Eye Moody, Tonks —

Dumbledore arrived as well, and a hint of embarrassment flashed across his face when he saw that Siren was also there.

"I'm sorry, Siren, I was supposed to deliver the things to you yesterday, but something else came up that forced me to change my plans."

Others looked over curiously.

"It's alright, Professor, I understand," Celen said.

"That's wonderful," Dumbledore said with a smile. "But I assure you, we can begin once this is resolved."

Xilun nodded.

"Mom, are you discussing who should be the new minister?" Fred finally couldn't help but ask in a low voice.

He only thought he was speaking softly; in fact, everyone present could hear him.

"That's not something you should be asking!" Mrs. Weasley said sternly.

"Why not!" George protested.

"We're adults now!"

"Bill and Charlie were able to officially join the Order of the Phoenix, so why can't we?"

"You are different," Mrs. Weasley stammered.

For some reason, she always subconsciously grouped Fred and George with Ron, even though they were two years older than Ron.

Such a thing would not happen to Bill and Charlie.

"Okay, that's right—"

Feeling a little guilty under their gazes, Mrs. Weasley spoke up first, asking, "What are you trying to say?"

"We'd like to recommend someone," Fred said, clearing his throat in a serious tone.

"Oh?" Dumbledore asked curiously, "Tell me, who would you like to recommend?"

"That man is right here," George said.

"You all know each other—"

"And it feels very familiar—"

"He is—Arthur Weasley!" Fred shouted, glancing at Siron instinctively.

Silen silently turned his head, pretending to study the faded wallpaper.

He was just joking, but he didn't expect Fred and George to take it seriously.

Strictly speaking, there is indeed someone more suitable, and they both know each other.

Just because of his age—his chances of being elected are even lower than Mr. Weasley's.

Forget it.

Xilun shook his head, stopped thinking about it, and continued to focus on studying the wallpaper.

Among those present, there was another person who also wanted to study wallpaper, but didn't have the opportunity.

Mr. Weasley was completely taken aback. One second he was wondering what kind of surprise his two sons would have for everyone. Little did he expect that the surprise (or rather, the shock) would hit him like a ton of bricks.

"Shut up, you two!" Mr. Weasley said, his face flushed, as he tried to grab Fred and George and make them put their words back in their mouths.

He, the head of an office that prohibits the misuse of Muggle items, becomes the Minister of Magic?

This is as absurd as Sybil Trelawney becoming the headmistress of Hogwarts. It's not a question of whether he/she can do it, but rather that he/she simply cannot.

Fortunately, no one took it seriously; they just thought it was a way to ease the tension, and after a while of laughter and banter, they stopped discussing it.

Afterwards, all the official members of the Order of the Phoenix went to the meeting room, while Sirius, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny stayed outside.

As for Fred and George, although their previous proposals were quite implausible, Dumbledore agreed to let them attend the meeting as official members of the Order of the Phoenix.

When the two entered the conference room, their heads were almost touching the ceiling.

When they came out again, two hours later, they were hanging their heads, as if all their strength had been drained away.

These were the two most terrifying hours they had ever experienced; they felt like two days had passed.

And this isn't the end of it. We're not out now because there's a result, but because everyone's hungry and we're planning to continue after lunch.

"Is it that complicated?" Xilun asked.

"It's complicated—" Fred said, leaning back in his chair. "It seems like everyone is a good fit, but it also seems like no one is a good fit."

"Sometimes it's suitable, but I'm unwilling."

"Then let's find someone suitable and willing," Xilun said casually.

"You make it sound so easy," George said irritably. "There's no such person."

"Of course there is! I know someone who really wants to be a minister, and he's very experienced."

Who is it?

"Cornelly Fudge".

The name seemed to possess a certain magic, and the entire restaurant instantly fell silent.

Sirius and Lupin fell silent. Mrs. Weasley stopped there, holding a large cauldron, and Mad-Eye Moody's blue magic eye stopped moving, staring intently at Sirius.

"What, did I say something wrong?"

"But—Fudge has already been ousted," Tonks whispered.

"Get it back," Sirius said. "To be honest, it was because of his inaction and constant obstruction that Voldemort was able to make his comeback so easily. He should be held responsible."

"Then let's continue the meeting!" said Dumbledore.

Xilun had just sat down and hadn't even had a chance to eat anything when he was kicked out again.

Fortunately, the meeting was short, ending in five minutes. Dumbledore was the first to emerge from the dining room and headed straight for the door.

"Professor, where are you going?" Hermione asked hurriedly.

"Go and invite our new minister," Dumbledore said. "It might be a little difficult, but I think I can persuade him."
