Chapter 213 Garbage Heap

"Who is Craven?"

"Hunter" Kraven made his appearance, and Spider Gwen said in a lighthearted tone.

Craven had several spears and javelins stuck in his back, a sharp dagger hanging at his waist, and a bow and arrows slung at his side.

Connors had time to scrutinize the bearded "hunter," but Gwen didn't have time to look closely.

She slightly turned to dodge the javelin thrown by "Hunter" Craven, and flicked her fingers to shoot out a spider silk.

The sticky spider silk stuck to the tail of the javelin during flight, and as Gwen gripped the silk with both hands and spun it vigorously, the javelin spun along with it.

"Mr. Craven, you can't litter during a performance. Here you go!"

The javelin spun a few times in the air before Gwen released it, letting it fly straight toward Craven.

"Are you using witty remarks to mask your nervousness?"

Craven casually caught the javelin that Gwen threw at him and reached out to touch the end of the javelin.

Craven ripped off the sticky spider silk from the tail and tossed it aside.

Connors: ".·

He stared into thought as he looked at the spider silk that "Hunter" Craven had thrown at his feet.

"Telepathy" did indeed make Craven ignore his presence, but was it perhaps a bit too much of an overreaction?

Before the arrival of "Hunter" Craven, Gwen had been fighting with "Dr. Lizard".

Even as Gwen briefly caught the javelin and returned it to Craven, "Dr. Lizard" did not stop his attack.

He opened his mouth wide, and the sticky saliva on his sharp teeth stretched out as he bit down on Gwen.

Just as Gwen was hastily blocking the attack and her body was lifted into the air, "Dr. Lizard" snapped his mouth shut.

A thick, thorny lizard tail whipped through the air, striking Gwen's body before she even hit the ground.

Connors twitched his finger, but did not immediately make a move. Instead, he watched as the tail drew closer and closer to Gwen.

He didn't want to watch Gwen Yokoto die on the spot, but he noticed "Hunter" Kraven move just before he was about to make his move.

Craven planted the javelin in his hand into the ground, pulled out a spear nearly two meters long from behind his back, and took a few running steps, making the sewers rumble.

Before he arrived, the spear arrived first. "Hunter" Craven struck the ground with the spear, and using the bounce, he caught the spear by the butt of the spear.

Then Craven stomped on the ground and jumped high into the air, bracing one foot against the spear's end, seemingly to give the flying spear a boost.

Unlike before, when the javelin was aimed at Gwen, this time "Hunter" Craven's target was "Dr. Lizard".

From Connors' perspective, it was as if Craven was giving "Dr. Lizard" an injection.

Connors set aside the javelin that Craven thought was stuck in the ground but was actually shoved into his hand, and stared intently at the three-way battle in the sewers.

The Spider-Man film series was Connors's gateway into American comics, and Spider-Man's agile fighting style and leaping between skyscrapers captivated him.

While the battle scene before us may not be the best for casual viewers, Spider-Gwen's pleasing demeanor is still worth appreciating.

Craven the Hunter's hunting targets are Gwen and Dr. Lizard.

The spear in his hand broke into two pieces after he initially gave "Dr. Lizard" the injection.

He threw the tail off, and now he was only holding the head to attack.

He didn't only use short spears; throwing knives, arrows, and even sewer bricks he could easily pry off could also be used as means of attack.

Dr. Lizard doesn't distinguish between friend and foe; Craven and Gwen attack whoever they can catch.

He seemed somewhat delirious; his attacks, though cunning, followed the instincts of a wild beast, making him the easiest for Gwen and Craven to predict.

Scales, thorns, and other parts of "Dr. Lizard" would occasionally fly off.

Gwen was the busiest, because she was simultaneously fighting the two guys and occasionally using her webs to pull them together and make them attack each other.

On the one hand, they also had to verbally torture him mentally:

"Little lizard, this way—yay! A bullseye!"

"Which primeval forest did you come from, Mr. Craven? What did you eat to grow up with such great strength?"

The spider silk caught another dart flying towards them, and Gwen, as usual, threw it far away to prevent Craven from picking it up.

Connors lay in a hammock woven from spider silk, helplessly reaching out to catch the dart.

A lot of things had already piled up next to his hammock:

The back half of a short spear, several darts, an arrow, a few bricks, thorns and scales, and a large handful of spider silk.

Fortunately, the three of them were not fighting in a fixed location; they were constantly moving within the vast sewer system.

Otherwise, Connors believed that by the time they finished fighting, the space under his hammock would be completely filled.

It's no wonder they all just tossed things over to Connors; it's mainly because "telepathy" made Connors seem ignored, and his spot felt rather empty.

Gwen also ignored Connors, throwing the jumbled mess at him to make it easier for the police to gather evidence later.

"Hunter" Craven designed it so that items thrown out could be easily retrieved and recycled.

"Dr. Lizard" was the only guy present who didn't litter, until a severed lizard tail flew toward Connors.

"That's a bit much!"

Connors watched as the thick tail, as large as an adult woman's body, flew towards him, and his helplessness finally reached its peak.

He flipped off the hammock, stood steadily on the ground, reached out and grabbed the tip of the lizard's tail, then swept it around the ground.

Immediately, a huge pile of messy trash was stuck together by the large clump of spider silk and wrapped around the lizard's tail.

As the battle gradually shifted to a different location, the three men were vaguely poised for a three-way standoff during their fierce fight. However, a huge tail carrying a large amount of debris and garbage suddenly flew towards them, and the three men pounced in three different directions.

Gwen hung upside down from the top of the sewer, while Dr. Lizard gripped the wall firmly with his four claws to secure himself.

Craven, the only "hunter" who couldn't fly or jump, watched helplessly as the tail flew towards him. He flexed his arm muscles, grabbed a spear from behind him, and flicked it with force.

Then, with a soft thud, it was covered by the lizard's tail.

Connors knew that "Hunter" Craven's physical abilities were not those of ordinary people. He threw the lizard tail with a little force, but even that little bit of force was not something Craven could withstand.

Blood flowed from under its tail. Dr. Lizard instinctively sniffed the blood and became ferocious.

Just as Dr. Lizard was about to pounce, Connors deactivated his "telepathic" shield.

Driven by its primal instincts, the beast shrank back like a mouse seeing a cat, then recklessly darted into the depths of the sewer.
