Chapter 214 Green Goblin
Chapter 214 Green Goblin
"—He's dead?"
Gwen descended from the top of the sewer and cautiously approached "Hunter" Kraven.
"He's not dead. That blood was just bait he deliberately expelled by squeezing his chest. Craven used it as a trap to lure you and Dr. Lizard into taking the bait."
Connors walked to the severed tail and kicked the lizard's tail far away, then gently touched "Hunter" Craven:
"Bro, wake up!"
Craven paused for a moment, then rolled a few times to get away from Connors before adopting a predatory tiger stance, crouching halfway down and staring intently at Connors.
"You actually saw through my trap?"
Connors:
"It would be a miracle if you didn't see it! What did you think 'Athena's Vision' was for?"
Craven didn't care about Connors's Athena or anything like that; he had already made Connors his newest and strongest prey.
"Interesting prey. I can't even imagine how beautiful it would be if your skull were taken out and made into a trophy!"
Why are they treating me like prey? Connors nodded:
"A skull, right? You want it?"
"Hunter" Craven licked his lips with his scarlet tongue, a morbid excitement on his face:
"That's right!"
"Sure thing, sure thing, here you go." Connors readily agreed, raising his hand to scratch his head.
He ripped a golden, three-eyed skull out of his head and tossed it to Craven:
"Now, say thank you."
Gwen, who was quietly laying her web in preparation for continuing her battle with Craven, froze, staring in disbelief at the scene before her.
After the skull was removed, Connors remained as lively as ever, because it was simply a skull he had taken from the "Mystery House" on his ring by using "polymer chain mimicry" to deform his body.
That's "Pandora's Box".
Craven reached out and caught Pandora's box, but before he could utter a single word, his body began to undergo drastic changes.
Numerous black and red lightning bolts erupted from the center of his hands, Craven's body twisted and then returned to normal, and a third eye opened on his forehead.
His gaze shifted from a longing for his prey to an almost manic expression.
"You're too weak, let me give you a boost." Connors took the magic box and said to Craven with a smile.
He used "telepathy" once again, making his presence almost disappear, and Gwen, who was present, became the first creature that "Hunter" Craven saw.
He changed his hunting target back to Spider Gwen, and with a smile on his face, he was about to pounce on her.
Gwen quietly took a step back. She was unsure what Connors had done to Craven and how she should react. Just before "Hunter" Craven was about to pounce on Gwen, Connors, who should have been far away, rushed over at almost the speed of tearing through the air and grabbed Gwen's hand before she could dodge.
Connors' other hand was also busy. He put the magic box into the mystery house and then took out something else, this time the "mother box".
The "Explosive Channel" opened instantly, and Connors and Spider Gwen disappeared from their original positions.
Craven braced himself against the sewer wall, using the momentum to lunge towards the blasting tunnel, but Connors' foot emerged from the closing tunnel and pulled Craven back down.
The use of the Explosion Channel is accompanied by huge energy fluctuations. Connors did not intend to use this ability, but he used it anyway.
Craven missed his target and stood bewildered in the sewers. After killing a few passing rats with his spear, he turned and ran off in a certain direction in the sewers.
The once bustling sewers suddenly fell silent, and a few minutes later, only a few more rats came to gnaw on the bodies of their dead companions.
They were quickly drawn to the blood Craven had vomited and discovered the lizard's tail, which was covered in debris and garbage.
Between their companion's body and the giant lizard's tail, the mice chose the latter without hesitation.
They swarmed forward, but before they could even take a bite, they hurriedly fled.
The rats' escape meant the arrival of a new uninvited guest. This time it wasn't Gwen, Craven, or "Dr. Lizard," but another person wearing full green armor and riding a strangely shaped flying skateboard.
"Spider-Woman—I smell your scent. There's some unknown energy lingering here. What happened here?"
The man, riding a flying skateboard and wearing devilish green armor, spun around in the air a few times, lingering especially at the tail of a lizard piled with garbage and debris.
Then he saw Spider Gwen's silk, and a pair of hawk-like eyes lit up behind the orange goggles:
"You killed Peter Parker, who do you want to kill this time, Spider-Woman?"
"How many more people will die tragically at your hands, and how long will you remain at large?"
"I'm the only one who can stop you, and I'll find a way to force you to show yourself—Spider-Gwen!"
"I think you need to explain something," Gwen said, standing in front of Connors with her arms crossed.
"The Gwen vs. Dr. Lizard gossip is too trivial. I want to eat the Gwen vs. the Sinister Six gossip," Connors said, clearing his throat.
"I'm doing this for the sake of helping others."
Craven is too weak. It's only because Gwen is beautiful and kind-hearted, and Dr. Lizard is mentally unstable, that Craven's strength of at most two tons is simply not enough, given that both of them have tens of tons of strength.
His so-called traps and techniques were hardly effective against opponents who outnumbered him by dozens of times.
The "Hunter" Kraven in the comics is not that weak; he is a real threat to "Spider-Man" Peter Parker.
But the current Craven is clearly not up to par. If Connors doesn't give him a hand, it's questionable whether this guy is even strong enough to be a member of the "Sinister Six".
"I'd love to sit down and talk with you all night, but I have a class reunion to attend today."
Gwen's tone remained lighthearted, but Connors's heightened senses from "human limits" and "photosynthesis" made him realize that the girl was starting to become wary of him.
"Go on—wait, a class reunion?" Connors intended for Gwen to attend to her while he lay down for a nap, but the "super thinking" brought about by the "human limits" made him think of a question.
"You and Peter Parker are classmates, right?" Connors asked, and after Gwen nodded, he continued, "I'm guessing there's another classmate named 'Harry Osborn' among you?"
"How did you know? Oh, now I wouldn't be surprised if you could lay eggs," Gwen said.
"I really don't know how to do that," Connors nodded. Now that "Harry Osborn" was there, the "Sinister Six" had one more member:
"Green Goblin"!
