Warhammer 30: The Second Legion's Expedition

Chapter 61 Alien Warships, the First Legion

Chapter 61 Alien Warships, the First Legion

"I don't understand! Damn it!"

"The command channel is a complete mess!"

"Has Moriarty not taken over the command system yet?"

The moment the ship was attacked, Holmes attempted to issue combat orders to the Dawnbringer of the ship via the communication channel in his helmet.

But he failed.

Randan's bio-ships have jamming devices far superior to those of the human empire. The moment they made contact, the Dawn's communications were instantly overloaded by a large amount of redundant noise.

However, the attacks launched by the Kraf aliens against the Primarchs helped the Dawn to enter a state of combat readiness to some extent, so the command pressure was not as great as imagined.

Meanwhile, apart from the sunken frigate, the expeditionary fleet did not suffer unacceptable losses.

Forced by the skeletal army behind them, the Ran Dan alien's desperate sneak attack failed to achieve the perfect results they had planned.

Holmes turned his head, and behind him were Primarch Hector's armor and weapons, as well as his servants and Mechanicus priests who were helping Hector put on the armor.

He intercepted a group of Astartes who were preparing to support the area boarded by the Xenomorphs, and demanded that they accompany him to escort the Primarch's equipment.

Inside the command room, the others shared Holmes's thoughts.

Eighth Dalian Hel Kavis and the other Dalian company commanders had dark faces as they coldly watched the various aliens that appeared on the monitor screen and were then instantly killed.

Questions arose in their minds.

"Damn it, how did these guys break through?" someone wondered.

As orders were issued one after another, the company commanders in Dalian finally had time to discuss and sort out this unbelievable situation.

The alien was only a single ship, yet it perfectly bypassed the energy detectors and oracles, allowing it to get close enough to the Dawn to launch a suicidal close-range attack.

It felt as if someone was forcing them from behind to launch such a desperate final charge.

"Sir." A high-ranking human technician walked over with some equipment and answered the questions that the company commanders had in mind.

"The USS Anholt intercepted a message," he said.

"Why wasn't it reported immediately!" Her Callies was furious.

He lifted the mortal technician like a chick, and the man felt fear in his body, but his eyes remained firm, staring directly into Hel Kavis's scarlet goggles.

He had no doubt that the company commander, who disliked mortals the most, would kill him.

The tablet in his hand was still running messages. A company commander frowned: "Put him down, Kavis."

"How can he report back like this?"

Upon hearing this, Hel Kavis reluctantly threw the mortal technician to the ground and paced restlessly on the deck.

"Continue, mortal," the company commander commanded. "What is the truth of this matter?"

As the senior technician rose from the ground, he began his report at a brisk pace: "Because at the time, this signal was from the Empire and was extremely close to that of a reconnaissance ship on a defensive mission."

"You mean, the aliens have the ability to disguise Imperial ship signals?" the company commander said.

"Yes, sir." The senior technician nodded in agreement. "And it's probably not just that. They should have a kind of camouflage technology similar to optical camouflage, which fooled the detection signals of most frigates and also evaded the automatic target acquisition gun arrays deployed on the ship's hull."

"They kept getting close and infiltrating until the Trojan Guard 10th Regiment on the destroyed Hokar frigate spotted them with the naked eye."

An uproar erupted in the command room; they remained silent, exchanging bewildered glances.

"Damn it!" a company commander from Dalian exclaimed incredulously.

"What is their motive? The detectors only showed this one warship. What about the rest? Is this an attack? Has the legion already entered their encirclement?"

Behind him, the Ninth Company Commander Moriarty calmly launched into a series of questions.

Now, the alien ship that launched the suicide attack on the main ship is no longer of any importance. Given that the enemy has such capabilities, what the Second Legion needs to worry about more is whether this is a conspiracy against the Second Legion.

Perhaps that alien ship wasn't stupid, but rather a spearhead that threw them into a panic, much like Horus's signature spear-like tactics.

"I don't think so, sir," the technician offered the opposite opinion.

"How can you be so sure?" Moriarty became the leader of this group of company commanders and naturally took over the leadership.

"I cannot guarantee that," the engineer said, "but after the attack, all of the legion's warships have deployed their positions, and all ships have been dispatched to search the surrounding star system without restriction."

"at the same time······"

The technician paused, clearly considering whether he should continue speaking.

"Don't hide it!" Moriarty shouted sternly.

"Yes, my lord," the technician said with difficulty. "The reconnaissance team has detected a relatively small Imperial fleet. The proximity detectors have revealed the shape of their ships, which are undoubtedly Imperial vessels."

"We attempted to negotiate with them, but they did not respond."

"Then sink them!" Hel Kavis shouted sharply. "The situation is urgent. The Xenomorphs have the ability to disguise themselves as Imperial ships. Instead of spending time scanning data and increasing the risk, we should just sink them on the spot."

"Order the nearest escort ships to align with the unknown fleet. If they still haven't responded after three attempts, open fire immediately and sink them, destroying them in the starry sea!"

The technician was quite surprised that Herl Kavis's extreme remarks did not elicit much opposition.

Moriarty remained silent, staring at the only fleet on the star map that was specially marked, apart from the Second Legion, and looking at the ships that were clearly Imperial.

They had clearly been through a major battle; the ship's dark gray-green armor was now riddled with craters from the tilting of cannons, and their propulsion systems were struggling to function.

There were no markings on the ship that could identify them; it was as if they had been temporarily erased.

Therefore, Moriarty made the same decision as Hel Calvis: "I'll only give them five minutes, technician."

"I demanded that they lay down all arms, disengage, and respond immediately."

"Otherwise, the legion will annihilate them completely in the first instance, without any mercy!"

"Isn't this too arbitrary, sir?" the technician asked worriedly, for this was, after all, the Empire's fleet.

Moriarty, however, did not back down. He resolutely addressed the company commanders who shared the same thoughts as the technicians: "The legion has been attacked by aliens. As the Kavis brothers said, a heavily damaged Imperial fleet, whose information is unknown and which refuses to communicate, has suddenly appeared."

"So in any case, I firmly believe that this matter is inextricably linked to them."

"I will have no burden in destroying them."

"Pass the order down."

Hel Kavis took the initiative and strode past the technicians and the group of soldiers.

The dissatisfaction and waiting in his heart made the company commander of the Eighth Company extremely agitated.

He gave the order over the communication channel:

"Five minutes, load, depressurize, give the gunners the order!"

"Ready to fire!"
