The Silent Witch of Hogwarts

Chapter 449 Each Other's Moon

Chapter 449 Each Other's Moon

Chapter 449 Each Other's Moon

"Is that Professor Hamilton?!"

As Loila slowly walked down from the stage, many students turned their gazes toward her, not only on her, but also on the figure pulling her along in front of them.

"Who's that?" Ron muttered. "Could it be some Death Eater?"

"I don't think so." Hermione, standing next to him, raised an eyebrow. "It's probably—a student?"

"Which student is so lucky?"

This question wasn't just on Hermione and Ron's minds, but on almost all the students'.

Everyone knew Professor Hamilton's personality: silent, somewhat approachable, but mostly aloof. She maintained a distant relationship with her students; they seemed to know a lot about her, yet also seemed to know nothing at all.

The students were surprised to see that someone had actually managed to invite Professor Hamilton and even dance with her.

The person was wearing a mask at the time, so their face could not be seen.

But that was only true for the students; Loila, who was being gently pulled by that hand, certainly knew who she was.

Miss Luna Lovegood—but why is she wearing a mask, and why—is she inviting me?

Didn't she already have a dance partner?

Why again—could it be—that her dance partner is actually—me?

But—Loyla's mind was in complete turmoil, but thankfully she still knew to hold Luna's hand tightly.

Under the watchful eyes of the students and professors, the two walked to the center of the dance floor, and then, to the music, Loila bowed slightly.

She would normally be nervous dancing in front of so many people—but whether it was because of Professor McGonagall's previous lessons or because of Luna in front of her, Loira didn't feel nervous at all.

At this moment, the two of them smiled slightly and then gently took each other's hands.

The silver-haired girl in her long silver dress resembled a moon in the candlelight, radiating a soft, gentle moonlight.

Loila didn't remember much about the dance. Everything seemed to be very fast, yet also very slow. It was so fast that she didn't come to her senses until the dance ended, and so slow that she nervously went over Ms. Vida's instructions a dozen times in her mind.

The dance ended, and Loila looked at Luna in front of her and smiled slightly again.

However, Luna then blinked and said, "There are so many people here."

"Y-yes—" Realizing what had happened, Loila immediately blushed. There must have been quite a few people watching her just now, right? Did she jump properly? But at least this time they didn't step on each other's feet, right?

Just as Loila was thinking, the hand that was holding her tightened slightly, and Luna pulled her towards the door of the auditorium.

"Luna?!" Loila exclaimed in surprise, "You—"

"It's alright, come with me, Loila." Luna's voice rang out along with the bells on the Christmas tree, her light and melodious voice making it difficult to distinguish between them for a moment.

The auditorium doors were pushed open and then closed again, leaving the students inside looking at each other in bewilderment.

"Albus?" McGonagall looked at Dumbledore and asked slowly, "Who is that person?"

"An interesting student," Dumbledore said slowly. "Another moon."

"The moon (Lua)?" McGonagall paused for a moment, then shook her head slightly as if she understood. "So it looks like we have two moons, don't we?"

"Not two moons." Dumbledore gently shook his head and looked at McGonagall, his eyes filled with a hint of nostalgia: "They were just each other's moons."

That's all.

The closure of the auditorium doors opened a new door for Loila.

Luna pulled her along, running all the way to the courtyard in front of the auditorium. The courtyard was deserted, with only snowflakes falling in the wind and thick snow covering the ground.

"Dancing is so much fun!" Luna said, blinking her eyes, then suddenly released Loila's hand and lay down on the snow.

"Snapped!"

Her not-so-tall figure lay in the snow, like the only ink mark on a white painting.

Watching her actions, Loila pursed her lips, then closed her eyes and lay down in the snow with a "thud".

She had never done anything like this before, dancing with people at Christmas while lying in the snow.

Everything was so new and exciting—it reminded me of Durmstrang's story—but I don't need to think about it anymore, I've already avenged Muller, haven't I?

At least for now, I shouldn't be thinking about it. What I should remember now is Luna—shouldn't I?

Loila turned her head slightly to look at Luna, and then was somewhat surprised to find that her friend had changed a lot.

Three years have passed! It's been three years since she first met Luna—three years ago she looked like a little child, and now—Loira looked at her long, silver-gold hair and pursed her lips.

"It's really strange, isn't it? We're like aerial gnats, stuck in the snow." Luna's voice came, as if telling Loila that even after three years, she was still herself.

"Lu-Luna." For some reason, Loi suddenly pursed her lips and asked, "Why did you—want to be friends with me?"

Why would Luna be friends with someone as boring and troublesome as me?

Luna was practically his first friend. Unlike Mr. Lupin, she had approached him entirely on her own initiative—ever since their encounter at the wand shop.

But I didn't do anything—I was even worse back then than I am now—Loira looked at Luna and asked softly, "Can—can you tell me?"

Luna didn't rush to answer, but instead let out a soft laugh. Her laughter sounded like snowflakes falling on Loila's face, making her cheeks feel ticklish.

I'm sure I blushed again—

"There's no particular reason—" Luna replied, "Maybe it's because you're funny?"

"Or maybe it's because you saved me?"

"It could just be that I like you."

"Like—like?" Before Loila could think it through, Luna's hand gently touched her pointed ear, but instead of pinching it, she slowly withdrew it.

"What kind of... what kind of liking?" For some reason, Loila suddenly asked this question. She bit her lip and said, "We're friends, aren't we?"

"It's between friends—do you like it?"

"Of course." Luna nodded gently, but then took Loira's hand and placed it behind her ear.

"Luna?"

"Pinch me." Luna blinked.

"Why—why?"

"Because children who lie should have their ears pinched."

"Tell me—a lie?" Loila paused, wondering which sentence it was. Was it the one about liking her—or the one about her friend?

However, before she could think about it for long, she suddenly heard footsteps and a cold voice not far away.

"You in the corner, come out here!" That was Professor Snape's voice, and he seemed to be—

"Hogwarts is a magic school, not a place for you to fall in love." Snape's voice carried far through the snow, cold and tinged with mockery. "Has one Christmas made you all lose your minds?"

"Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, each lose ten points!"

Professor Snape is cracking down on puppy love?!
