Chapter 1090 - 1091: At the Eastern Gate.

In the center of a huge square that once belonged to one of the greatest cities of the Eastern Continent, ruins and ashes recently reigned. The streets, once full of life, were now buried under a layer of gray ash.The blackened skeletons of the buildings, melted by the heat of the elements, were a silent reminder of the terrible force with which the fire had struck here.

Most of the buildings could not withstand the fiery elements and the weight of the ashes, losing their former grandeur.

However, it was here, in the heart of the ruined city, that a dark sphere appeared just a few days ago, and then a Gate. Their appearance turned the dead square into a point around which the fate of the entire Eastern Region now began to revolve.

The ruined metropolis, once the center of life on Earth, now forgotten and abandoned, has once again attracted attention.

The Fire factions, which had captured most of the Eastern Continent, had already partially gained a foothold around this place these days. They continued to evaluate the ruins and figure out how best to expand their possessions in an area that until recently was considered a useless wasteland.

The Dungeon gate shone, and a young man with brown hair and brown eyes came out. He was wearing the usual clothes of a resident of the Eastern Continent.

Once again, a sultry wind blew across his face.

Idan did not have time to look around, as someone called out to him:

"Hey, you, which Faction are you from?"

"The Golden Fire Faction," — Idan said without hesitation, and looking at his interlocutor, he saw a young man in a blue robe.

"Tsch!" — The guy clicked his tongue in displeasure, but still said, "They're after you."

Idan nodded and only then looked around.

There was a small open area around the gate, beyond which was a large fence.

The guy who called out to him was standing next to one of the passageways through the fence.

Idan counted only six entrances and exits, and each one was heavily guarded.

"Checkpoints?" — He thought.

From the color and attire of the guards, Idan could easily tell that each of these six passageways was controlled by one of the six factions.

Behind him, as the Blue Fire Faction guy said, Idan saw the Golden Fire Faction checkpoint.

At the moment, Idan was in the form of Ignis, and although he had promised Arabel to take Prina with him, he appeared alone.

Having access to the Nexus, Idan used the teleportation function between the Dungeon gates to get here. As a Golden Rank Awakened, he had paid 500 System Points for this opportunity. Which, in Idan's opinion, seemed like an acceptable price.

In order to hide his identity from another continent and preserve the legend that he had just emerged from the Dungeon; he headed to the checkpoint of the Golden Fire Faction.

"Go there," the guard said, pointing to one of the two passageways as Idan approached.

Following his advice, Idan entered the indicated passage and found himself in a small room where a young man with red hair, dressed in red and gold robes, was sitting at a table.

Seeing Idan, the guy narrowed his eyes.

"Gold rank..." he said, and handed Idan the Crystal Card he already knew.

"50 SP points," he said.

"50 points?"— Idan's eyebrows rose.

"Yes, pay up and get out," the guy nodded.

Noticing the silence, he looked up and grinned at Idan. "What? No points?"

"Unfortunately, there is," Idan said, and touching the Crystal Card with his index finger, transferred 50 System Points. A shining number 50 appeared on the front of the card.

"Ha, Awakened," the guy snorted. "Get lost."

Nodding slightly, Idan walked through the checkpoint. When he entered the territory controlled by the Golden Fire Faction, he saw a ruined city in front of him.

"Who would have thought that the Gates would open in the very heart of this abandoned city," he thought.

There is a spacious square in front of the checkpoint, where a small queue of people who want to enter the Dungeons is lined up at the entrance. Idan even noticed a few local fire beasts among them.

In the distance, the entrance was closely watched by characters in red and gold robes, and a small crowd of curious people gathered nearby. A little further on, there was continuous work on the restoration of sections of the city.

After taking a walk and carefully observing what was happening, Idan quickly received the necessary information.

The six Fire Factions have shared control of the Gate, and now each of them charges tribute for both entry and exit.

"So you have to pay for entering the Gate with material resources or SP points, and exiting is only possible for SP points," Idan nodded, memorizing the information. Looking up, he saw a group of men nearby effortlessly removing rubble and lifting heavy concrete blocks with their bare hands.

All of them were, without a doubt, Contractors—subordinate forces of the Golden Fire Faction.

"So that's the thing," — Idan realized, watching the workers at work.

Then he looked around.

"The Blake family should also be here somewhere, one of the many subordinate forces brought here to help the Golden Fire Faction rebuild and strengthen its position in this city."

Before starting an active search, Idan decided to find a secluded spot.

To do this, he had to go deep into the city, away from the territory of the Golden Fire Faction, where the forces of the Eastern Continent, including the beasts, are now independent and even hostile to the six Factions.

After finding a secluded spot and making sure that no one was watching them, he waved his hand, opening the Access Portal. A black figure emerged from it.

"What the..." said Idan, unable to hide his surprise when he saw who came out of the portal.

In front of him was not a little girl, but a teenager of 10-12 years old in a beautiful black dress. Instead of her usual long hair, which was usually longer than her height, she had two black pigtails on her head. And instead of four arms, she had only two.

Noticing Idan's amazement, Prina whirled around with a smile.

"How do I look?" "What is it?" she asked.

And most importantly, Idan did not see her usual tiara or crown on her head.

"Who… Who dressed you up like that? What happened to your hair? And where did your hands go?"

"Master and little sister," confessed Prina. "They said I shouldn't stand out too much. So I cut my hair short and hid my hands."

"How's it going? Do you like it?"

"To be honest, you look great," Idan said sincerely.

"Heh, heh, heh," — Prina laughed sincerely. But when she noticed several figures approaching, she immediately fell silent and, like a frightened girl, hid behind Idan.

That made Idan's right eye twitch. After all, Prina was not an ordinary girl, but a sixth-rank being. If anyone should have been scared, it was him, not her.
