Chapter 117: The Death of Metis

Zeus with a disheartened expression as he made his way to Metis’s palace.

"Why? Why must she die for that fate to be averted? Why can’t there be another way?" Zeus questioned himself as tears threatened to pour out of his eyes.

Meanwhile at Metis’s Palace, Metis sat on the bed in her bedroom waiting for her inevitable demise by her husband.

"I just hope father does not takes the news of my death hardly" Metis said.

She was trying to prevent a war and does not want to cause another one because of her decision.

While she was still in deep thoughts, she heard the door to her room opened so she turned to see who it was and love and behold it was Zeus himself and looking at his expression, she knew that he has already come to a conclusion.

"How have you been?"

He asked while also taking a seat on her bed and wrapped his arms around her.

"Apart from taking care of the child, I have never be any better" said Metis with a sad smile.

Even though she knew her fate, was to die today, she still has a little bit of hope for Zeus to change his mind and look for other alternatives.

Nobody wants to die, not even an immortal like her.

"That’s good, and as for the baby, what do you intend to do with it?" He asked wanting to hear her opinion on the matter.

Metis face changed while looking at her protruding stomach, rubbing it as she could feel the vibrant essence of life within her "I would have loved to let it live but I don’t think that would be a wise idea, so whatever you decide" she said as she looked at Zeus with a sad smile.

"I’m afraid he has already committed the crime as I can’t seem to find Metis anywhere" said Rhea standing in the presence of Gaia "I sure she also in pains of losing her first child"

Gaia frowned when she heard that, she could not understand what was wrong with her family.

It is as if they were cursed right from the very start.

Her husband, Ouranus robbed her of her children, her son did the same to his wife and now her grandson is also following in that footstep. She just do not understand such a thing.

"Call Zeus and Metis, I will like to have a talk with them"

"Yes mother"

Since she could not figure out what is wrong with her family, she could at least make sure this never repeats itself again.

"I’m afraid Metis would be unavailable" said Lucifer as he appeared besides Gaia "she is dead"

Hearing this news, it was as if a bomb was dropped in their vicinity and a huge explosion occurred.

They could not believe what they just heard "what did you say?" Gaia asked and disregarded the fact that this was the first time she has seen Lucifer since he came back to life.

"Metis is dead" Lucifer repeated it once again to the women and seeing as they were still in shock, he continued "he decided to follow another path, to completely ensure his survival and the peace of the Realm, he had to kill the source of the problem which happens to be Metis.

If he were to get rid of the child after it was born, Metis will resent him and begin to devise a plan to pay him back for what he did to her so killing Metis is the only way and she was also aware of it, she died to avoid unnecessary complications in the future"

Gaia sighed and closed her eyes while thinking of ways to pass this news to her son, Oceanus.
