Chapter 401: The God of Ocean Currents

Chapter 401: The God of Ocean Currents

March 15Lin Feng was not sure whether Arcanine's love story had officially begun yet, but over the past few days, Salamence and Dragonite's strength had finally started to stabilize.

At the moment, Salamence and Dragonite's energy levels had settled around levels 87-88 and 84-85 respectively.

Today, Lin Feng finally took some time to observe their training grounds. He was especially curious about what changes the Yin-Yang Ocean Current Hotpot had brought to the two Pokémon.

He had no idea what to expect.

But the moment he saw the result, he was completely stunned.

To avoid causing too much chaos, Lin Feng immediately instructed Salamence to use only about half of its power.

Even then, the display left him speechless.

Dark clouds gathered overhead as violent winds roared through the sky. The sea within dozens of kilometers twisted as if dragged into a giant whirlpool. Moments earlier, the weather had been perfectly clear, yet now the heavens had darkened into an endless black mass.

The clouds continuously absorbed moisture from the ocean before torrential rain suddenly poured down.

According to Salamence, it felt as though it could control the energy of the surrounding sea itself.

However, that control only lasted for a short period of time.

Even so, the sight shocked Lin Feng deeply.

Riding atop Dragonite's back, he quickly shouted,

"Alright, alright, that's enough!"

The storm clouds and raging waves gradually began to calm.

"Roar!"

Salamence flapped its wings and flew back beside Dragonite.

[You didn't abuse this power while you were out at sea before, right?]

Lin Feng asked while sitting on Dragonite's back, lingering fear still visible in his eyes.

The waves Salamence had just stirred up had terrified the Pokémon living below. They scattered in panic, looking as though they wished they could suddenly grow extra fins just to swim faster.

If that level of disturbance had erupted at full strength, it would not only attract human attention, but could very well alert legendary Pokémon ruling the skies or oceans.

[Roar, roar.]

Salamence shook its head firmly.

This was the first time it had ever unleashed the power of ocean currents on such a massive scale.

Dragonite nodded in agreement as well.

"That's good."

Lin Feng recalled the instructions he had given Salamence before it left:

Whether training or learning to control its own power, it absolutely must not disrupt or damage surrounding ecosystems.

Now it seemed Salamence had followed those instructions very well.

Even Salamence itself appeared surprised by the result of this experiment.

Still, the surrounding sea had already been slightly affected.

The best thing they could do now was leave the area quickly so the Pokémon and fish below would not remain too frightened to return.

"Alright, let's head back first."

Lin Feng did not let Dragonite continue the testing.

Instead, he scattered crushed Pokéblocks into the sea, hoping to lure back the Pokémon that had just fled.

Afterward, both dragons beat their wings and flew toward the distant coastline.

Soon, calm returned to the ocean.

The abnormal weather did not leave the sea Pokémon anxious for long. Barely one or two minutes later, the aquatic Pokémon that had escaped at high speed slowly caught the delicious scent drifting through the water and cautiously returned.

The first to arrive were a group of Luvdisc.

They had been the slowest to flee, so naturally they were also the fastest to come back, quickly scattering in search of Pokéblock crumbs.

Soon after, all kinds of Water-type Pokémon began swimming over.

The sea gradually regained its peaceful atmosphere, and thanks to the Pokéblocks, even more Pokémon gathered than before.

Among them…

One Pokémon stood out far more than the others.

Its body was pure white and enormous, towering over ten meters in length. It possessed massive wing-like hands, dark blue horn-like protrusions near its eyes, a deep blue dorsal fin along its back, and pale blue skin across its belly.

After swimming into the center of the sea and reaching the location where Lin Feng had been moments earlier, it slowly rose into the air.

Its gaze fixed on the direction Dragonite had flown away.

A strange light flickered in its eyes.

[That power… why does it feel so familiar…?]

Lugia felt puzzled.

Yet it did not pursue them.

Instead, it slowly descended back toward the ocean and eventually discovered a larger fragment of Pokéblock floating nearby…

"Whew… Amazing. That was seriously incredible!"

After climbing down from Salamence's back, Lin Feng could not help praising its overwhelming strength.

Salamence shyly scratched its head with one claw, but soon lifted its gaze again, fiery determination shining brightly in its eyes as it looked toward Lin Feng.

Lin Feng naturally understood what Salamence was thinking.

[Alright. You're ready now. I'll go find someone to help us.]

He gently rubbed Salamence's head reassuringly.

[For now, you two should go eat something first.]

"Roar~!"

The two Pokémon nodded obediently.

After landing in the garden, Gardevoir happened to step out from the kitchen. Hearing the conversation between Lin Feng and the dragons, she quietly walked over.

[Gardevoir?]

(When are you planning to leave?)

As the one who managed nearly everything large and small within the household, Gardevoir understood the condition of every Pokémon better than anyone else.

Naturally, she knew Salamence's goal was revenge.

And from what they knew so far, that organization sounded incredibly powerful.

That much was obvious.

After all, they had once created Mewtwo.

There was no way Gardevoir would not feel worried.

[Probably within the next couple of days. It'll happen to fall on the weekend too, so it's a good opportunity to rest a little and pause video uploads for a while. From now on, I'm taking weekends off. There's no need to stay trapped in the kitchen every single day.]

Lin Feng answered casually.

Ever since the Horizon League and Lunar New Year celebrations this year, the ranch had become busier than ever.

Among everyone, the hardest workers were undoubtedly Gardevoir, the Indeedee siblings, and Pidgeot.

They practically had work every single day.

At this point, Lin Feng had already earned enough money.

When it was time to work, they would work.

When it was time to rest, they would rest.

He planned to follow a simple schedule from now on:

Five days of work, two days of rest.

He wanted weekends to become true holidays, giving him and his Pokémon more time to spend together.

That was also one of the reasons the League restricted how many Pokémon beginner trainers could catch.

Because the more Pokémon someone owned, the more emotional attention each one required.

New trainers were already inexperienced at caring for Pokémon. If they caught too many too quickly, it became impossible to properly care about every Pokémon's feelings.

[Gardevoir…]

(Then I'm coming too.)

Gardevoir honestly did not care much about things like vacations or breaks.

But she had already made up her mind to participate in this mission.

"Of course."

Lin Feng nodded immediately.

He fully intended to bring Gardevoir along.

After all, aside from Mewtwo, Gardevoir was currently one of the strongest Pokémon on the team.

And she could Mega Evolve as well.

As for now…

[Alright, I should probably get some alcohol ready and go visit Giratina. Hopefully that'll help.]
