Chapter 48 A Steady Flow

Catwoman Selena Gomez made some startling remarks; this seemingly innocent young girl in the world speaks ruthlessly.

She naively believed that Zod had come all this way just to take away her fellow Kryptonians, so she wasn't nervous.

But while she was confused, Connors was not. He knew perfectly well that one of General Zod's purposes in coming here was to transform Earth into an environment suitable for Kryptonians to live in.

Although Connors cannot possibly shoulder the entire responsibility of saving the world, one of the conditions for achieving the high rewards of the gossip system is to personally participate in the events.

He really intended to take "Catwoman" Selena and steal the Kryptonian spaceship.

In this way, although we won't get to know the "transforming Earth" story, the reward for stealing the spaceship and preventing the Kryptonians' plan from being implemented should still be pretty good.

Connors was preoccupied with the spaceship, so even when "Catwoman" Selena made a startling remark, he didn't stop the car and just watched the whole thing unfold.

No rush. After we steal the Kryptonian ship, we can try out some space sex. Therefore, when Selena Gomez asked him this, Connors casually replied:

"Our primary target right now is that spaceship in the sky. I'll explain what rear entry is in detail later."

"Oh—" Selena nodded as if she understood, and quickly turned her attention to the Kryptonian spaceship. She was just a jewel thief active in Gotham, and hadn't even been in the business for long, but now she had taken on a "big job".

Even as the supercar was already on its way to the metropolis, "Catwoman" Selena Gomez felt like she was in a dream.

Metropolis and Gotham are not far apart, and even before midnight, the two had already arrived within the city limits of Metropolis.

What's rather strange is that even though it's already dark, you can still see quite a few people wandering the streets holding signs.

Connors glanced over curiously and was surprised to find that the signs these people were holding clearly read:

"I am Karl El."

"I am an alien."

"Take me away."

"The end of the world is coming!"

Such words.

Most of these people were beggars and vagrants, but not all of them.

Connors even saw an old man in a suit and tie, with at least two pounds of grease on his head, holding up a sign.

"These delusional people—" Connors muttered, without venturing deeper into the city, and simply parked the car in an empty, deserted spot.

"Are we just going to wait here for those Kryptonians?" Selena looked around, puzzled.

"I just parked somewhere random—" Connors turned off the car, then cupped his hands around his mouth, making a megaphone shape.

"Martha—"

Selena: "?"

Her doubts were quickly resolved. Accompanied by the whistling wind, a figure with a red cloak fluttering behind him flew from afar and then floated lightly to the ground.

Just as Connors shouted, "Superman" flew over. Catwoman remembered seeing this guy on TV and instinctively assumed he was a partner in the spaceship theft project.

So she greeted "Superman" Clark:

"Hello, Martha."

Clark Kent's expression froze for a moment, then turned to one of helplessness:

"That's my mom's name—"

Superman was somewhat surprised by Connors' arrival, but the joy outweighed the surprise, and he quickly put on a smile and walked towards Connors:

"Thanks for reminding me. I already hid Mom and Louise beforehand. Besides, she's just a female reporter, why did you specifically mention her?"

Connors avoided all questions that required explanation, instead throwing a question at "Superman" Clark:

"Are you ready to fight your fellow countrymen?"

"No." Clark replied with an expression that seemed perfectly natural.

"Why?" Connors asked, somewhat confused.

Clark: "I am prepared to surrender."

Well, it turns out he's a surrenderist. Connors slapped his forehead. He had only told "Superman" Clark about General Zod looking for him, but hadn't mentioned that Zod was also keeping an eye on this little patch of Earth.

Naïve and kind as Superman, he subconsciously believed that as long as he surrendered, nothing would happen.

If Connors hadn't specifically mentioned it, he wouldn't have even thought there was any need to hide his mother and the female reporter beforehand.

"If I said Zod came to destroy the Earth, you might think I was trying to sow discord among your own kind," Connors said bluntly, not one to mince words.

Just moments ago, "Superman" Clark was a advocate of surrender, but upon hearing Connors's words, he immediately became a radical again:

"You never mentioned this before... No, I'm going to confront Zod right now. If that's really the case, then I'll defeat him?"

Connors: "You're kidding me."

The spaceship is still in space. Given Superman's kind nature, he certainly wouldn't do something like destroying it directly. The so-called "time" is probably going to go inside the spaceship.

The idea was great, but the air composition inside the spaceship was different from that on Earth, and Superman's body, which was used to Earth's air, would collapse as soon as he arrived there.

Unlike Batman, who is used to relying on himself, Superman Clark chose to trust Connors at this moment.

And made a request on the spot:

"Do you have any good ideas that can help me?"

"Just find an opportunity to lure everyone off their ship," Connors said. "They need a device on their ship to destroy Earth; I'll handle that."

"No problem." Although he didn't know how easy it would be, at least Clark didn't refuse and readily agreed.

At this point, Connors had achieved his goal of summoning Superman.

As long as there are no Kryptonians on the spaceship, Connors is 100% confident that he can abduct it.

"Do you have a place to stay? My apartment is currently vacant." Clark's request for help received a response from Connors, and he was clearly relieved, extending an invitation to Connors and Selena.

"No, I'll just find a hotel to stay in," Connors politely declined Superman's offer. "By the way, do you have a cousin?"

He was asking about Clark's cousin in the comics, Kara, who is known as "Superwoman".

"No." Superman looked at Connors with a puzzled expression.

"Not now, but probably will be in the future." Connors patted Superman on the shoulder. "Go back now, see you tomorrow."

Where did my cousin come from? Connors told me to protect Lois, could she be my cousin? —: "Superman" Clark ascended into the sky with doubt.

After saying goodbye to Clark, Connors also checked into a hotel, and the system had automatically submitted his "watching the drama" reward.

[Today's Gossip: Zod's Declaration]

[Reward for watching the drama: Athena's Vision]

[Athena's Vision: Grants powerful insight, the ability to sense emotions, resistance to mental attacks, and immunity to illusions and mind reading.]

This Athena pose—the gaze—looks pretty good, doesn't it?

Although it wouldn't help with tomorrow's operation, Connors didn't mind the ability. Instead, he curiously turned his gaze to "Catwoman" Selena, who had just finished taking a shower.

The hotel he stayed in stood out from the crowd, much taller than the surrounding buildings.

Then an idea popped into Connors' mind, and he gave the order:

"Selena, go face the window and hold onto the windowsill with your hands."
