Chapter 404 Bloody Circus

The moment the evil spirit rode the earth into the cab of the transport truck, the trees along the roadside were replaced by spirits, twisted in agony. The asphalt road was replaced by a river of shadows, and the truck, engulfed in flames, sped through it.

The massive truck roared across the narrow road, its burning tires screeching wildly against the ground, causing the entire truck to drift erratically.

As Johnny slammed on the gas, the Ghost Truck roared and charged up the hillside by the roadside.

He was going to chase after the heavy truck that had crushed the innocent, and taking a shortcut would allow him to send the truck to hell even faster.

Ten kilometers away from Johnny, the truck driver who had run over the innocent was holding a cigarette between his index finger and thumb and taking deep drags.

He knew he had crushed more than one person to death, but so what?

Once he completes this shipment, the money the boss gives him will be enough for him to take his family to a distant place and live a worry-free life for the rest of his days.

For this reason, he even brought his children, wife, and elderly relatives with him in the car, just waiting to abandon the entire vehicle after the goods were delivered.

"Ahem!"

The old man coughed desperately because of the secondhand smoke that filled the driver's cab.

The wife sat in the passenger seat, expressionless, fiddling with her phone, but the phone was tilted slightly so that her husband couldn't see the text messages on the screen.

The child, sitting in the back of the driver's seat, was trying to cut off the ears of his pet cat with children's scissors. However, due to the poor quality of the scissors, the cuts were slow to come off, and the cat's piercing meows made the man lose his temper.

"Listen, Jonathan. If you let that damn cat meow again, I'm throwing you out the car window!"

"How could you say such a thing about your son?"

The wife sent a final message to her ambiguous lover on the other end of the screen, then turned off her phone and glared angrily at her husband.

"If you hadn't insisted on bringing the whole family in the car, we'd be comfortably lounging on our sofas at home watching TV right now, instead of spending entire nights on the road!"

"But I'm doing this to fucking make money to support you, you bitch!"

The man slammed on the gas pedal in a fit of rage and slammed his hand on the horn button in the center of the steering wheel, causing the car to emit a loud, wailing horn.

The boy finally cut off the kitten's ears with scissors from behind the driver's seat. He put them in his mouth and chewed on them, a look of disgust on his face as he watched his arguing parents.

But soon, the boy's gaze was drawn to a bright light at the end of the road. It seemed that a vehicle was on fire on the road, with flames shooting into the sky. He could even feel that he could hear someone screaming in the fire.

"Look!" the boy shouted, reaching out to grab the old man sitting next to him and pulling his ear.

Damn it—.—

The man driving cursed under his breath. Just as he was about to slow down to avoid the burning truck, he suddenly realized that the other vehicle seemed to be accelerating.

The man's first thought was that it was impossible. Any driver would jump out of the burning vehicle to escape, rather than continue driving on the fire.

And the speed is even getting faster and faster.

As the two vehicles drew closer, the man could now vaguely see, amidst the flames, chains flying everywhere on the other vehicle, and the massive snorkel spewing forth columns of fire that illuminated the road.

click!

Ghost Rider shifted into gear and slammed on the accelerator, causing the Ghost Rider truck to accelerate violently and crash into the truck in front of it.

Then came a deafening roar as the flaming truck collided heavily with the ordinary truck. The four people in the latter's cab, along with a cat, were sent flying through the air, smashing through the windows and hurtling towards Ghost Rider's truck with a crash!

The flying chains pierced through them and sent them back into the driver's cab. Then, the impact caused the cab to deform, and the four men screamed before being crushed.

The Ghost Truck has massive, thick armor and a front shovel. As it accelerates forward, the cab of the oncoming truck immediately flies into the air, and before it lands, the Ghost Truck has already reached its cargo bed.

Then, like a knife splitting bamboo, the Ghost Truck split the truck in two with a tooth-grinding roar. Ghost Rider let out a silent laugh and drove the Ghost Truck away, leaving the truck to explode violently after a period of silence.

Meanwhile, Connors, Zatanna, and Wanda have arrived in a small town called San Van González.

"circus?"

Connors looked curiously at the poster that the newsboy had handed him on the street. It featured a clown with sharp teeth and a series of balloons, a tightrope walking lion, and so on.

Wanda asked with a hint of curiosity:

"Can we go take a look?"

Just as Zatanna was about to speak, Wanda continued:

"I've never seen a circus performance before, and I want to see what they're like."

So Zatanna swallowed the words, "The circus isn't anything to see."

Connors wasn't interested in Wanda, mainly because he had never seen it before. He looked down on it when he was a child, and now that such things had almost disappeared from China, he couldn't help but be curious about them.

Just like the images often depicted in movies and novels, this circus set up a very large tent, and the performance took place inside the tent.

The clown, wearing a pinkish-purple top hat, sporting a mustache, and covered in blood, is removing his hat.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the greatest circus on earth!"

Connors didn't sense any demonic aura from this clown, unlike the demons in Demon Town. Whether by Athena's Vision or any other method, the clown seemed to be an ordinary, unremarkable person.

But the bloodstains on his body, which seemed to have accumulated over many years, indicated that the Joker was no ordinary person.

Connors soon discovered that not only the clowns, but the circus's performances were also unique.

The clown casually pointed and lifted an audience member dressed as a sanitation worker onto the stage:

"You're the star tonight! Yes, it's you! Step out of the shadows and do what you want under the spotlight!"

A sanitation worker came onto the stage, and with a numb expression, he grabbed the cable that was being blown down from above, letting it carry him seven or eight meters into the air.

The clown below was laughing heartily, seemingly cheering on the lucky spectator.

"Feel the exhilarating power it offers, and embrace the escape you've been longing for!"

"Escape from your mundane and disposable life—"

With a thud, the worker lost his grip on the cable and plummeted from the sky, crashing to his death right in front of the clown, his blood splattering all over him.
