Chapter 282 Hidden Dangers
The sudden intrusion of the demon Itrigan disrupted Connors' plans, so Connors decided to take advantage of the situation and see what methods Itrigan intended to use to awaken the "Lord Hunter".
Iteragan burst through the roof of the "Lord Hunter's" house and began cursing, startling the "Lord Hunter's" wife and son inside. The three of them immediately fled.
The "Lord Hunter" was furious, his fists clenched tightly:
"What kind of creature are you? Why have you suddenly barged into my house?! Get out of here immediately, or you'll face the consequences!"
The demon Itrigan opened its mouth and unleashed a mouthful of fire, causing the "Lord Hunter" to take a step back out of its racial fear of fire.
But when he stepped back, he realized that his wife and sons were behind him. So the "Lord Hunter" gritted his teeth and stood firm, enduring the flames of the demon Itrigan.
Not only that, he even rushed over and hugged Itlergan, and the two of them tumbled from the house onto the Martian ground.
"Wake up! This is a dream! Your true companions are waiting for you outside!"
With each word or two uttered by the demon Itrigan, his fist slammed heavily into the "Lord Hunter's" face.
The flaming fist inflicted excruciating pain on the "Lord Hunter," and as the agony intensified, the sparks in the dream began to distort.
The house twisted and stretched, the wife and sons became blurred into shadows, and the Martian ground beneath them began to blur.
"No......"
"Lord Hunter" let out a sorrowful cry, letting the demon Itrigan's fists strike him, while he turned his head away, his eyes fixed on the direction of his wife and sons.
His expression gradually became blank, his eyes widened first, and then slowly closed.
When "Lord Hunter" John Jones opened his eyes, he no longer saw the Martian sky of yellowish-brown and rusty red, but bright LED lights.
"No!"
"Lord Hunter" cried out in a panic after waking up.
But when he saw the "Lords of Justice" surrounding him, Connors, a middle-aged man with dark red hair whom he had never seen before, and a woman wearing a white mask, he knew he had returned to reality.
"Thank God," Lord Lightning wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "We thought we'd lost you, buddy."
The "Lord Hunter" sat up straight in bed, his eyes lowered:
"So, all those experiences I had were illusions?"
"Lord Bat" remained silent, as did "Lord Superman" and "Lord Woman".
Connors pulled Spider Gwen and the two little girls aside.
"Lord Greenlight" and "Lord Eagle Girl" wanted to say something, but "Lord Hunter" raised his hand to stop them. He walked to the window alone, looking at the dim sky outside, feeling somewhat dejected.
“That’s all understandable,” Jason Brad, a middle-aged man with dark red hair, stepped forward and said.
Before he could finish speaking, "Lord Lightning" frowned and looked at him:
"Shut up! You cold-blooded demon."
The atmosphere in the room was extremely oppressive. Connors coaxed the two little girls and Spider Gwen to the Mysterious House, and then walked up to the "Lord Bat".
Before he could speak, "Lord Bat" spoke first:
"I never expected that someone as cold-blooded as you to be so gentle with your partners. But your actions will only harm John Jones."
Connors was both amused and exasperated. The "Lord Bat" was just as concerned about the "Lord Hunter's" condition as he was, worried that the other party would completely succumb to the dream.
However, Connors dared to let John Jones sink into oblivion because he believed that the last green Martian from Earth III could awaken through his own willpower.
Deep within the memories of "Lord Hunter" are similar memory anchors related to Connors, such as those of "Lord Superman" and "Lord Bat".
While Connors was both amused and exasperated, "Lord Superman" walked over, his voice equally deep, "This time, I'm on Connors' side."
"He and I are the last of our races. I believe John Jones can wake up naturally, even if it is a false dream, it is already a rare luxury for us."
"Lord Bat" twitched his chin, unusually silent in his rebuttal, his memory returning to that snowy Christmas Eve, by the warm fireplace.
"John, are you alright?" Lord Lightning walked over to Lord Hunter and patted him on the shoulder.
"I'm fine," John Jones said.
"It may be cruel, but I support Bruce waking you up because you'll have to face this cold reality sooner or later."
"Lord Hunter" pushed aside "Lord Lightning" who hadn't finished speaking:
I told you I'm fine.
"Lord Bat" approached, seemingly oblivious to the lingering desolation on "Lord Hunter's" face, and coldly spoke:
"John, can you find Morgan le Fay's location?"
When it came to serious matters, "Lord Hunter" seemed to return to normal:
"I can't find it, but I can sense that she still hasn't obtained the Philosopher's Stone."
"Before she pulled me into the dream, I vaguely saw that the environment she was in was an ancient castle."
"This is a breakthrough point," said "Lord Bat."
The group was transferred from the hospital closest to the New York amusement park to the "Lord Bat" fighter jet. Bruce and Alfred, the bat butler from Earth Zero, communicated and searched for the ancient castle in this world together.
"Lord Hunter" sat alone in the last seat of the fighter jet, quietly looking out the window.
"Don't trust that Martian; he's been bewitched by the witch Morgan le Fay," the demon Itrigan said to the "Lord Bat."
"The Justice Society has sent word that 'Rapid' was passing by an old castle while chasing a criminal, which is very likely Morgan le Fay's hiding place."
The "Lord Bat" addressed the "Lords of Justice," then looked at the demon Itrigan:
"You want us to be attacked from both sides?"
The demon Itrigan, now in human form Jason Brad, was annoyed by the "Lord Bat's" indifferent attitude:
"Believe me, she will unearth your deepest desires and lay them before you; she will give you everything you dream of having and then tear it apart with her own hands—"
"Lord Bat" interrupted him:
Are you sharing your experience?
The demon Itrigan fell silent; the "Lord Bat's" sharp tongue had struck a nerve.
Just as he was about to organize his thoughts to give the "Lord Bat" a piece of his mind, the plane had already flown over the castle.
