Chapter 232 This is an era of punishment, not an era of redemption.

"Would you like to eat meat?"

The Punisher opened a sealed bag, took out the rotting flesh inside, and used wire and cable ties to bind the rotting flesh to a bomb.

The Punisher knew Ant-Man's home address perfectly well. He had never dealt with this guy before, but that didn't stop him from knowing everything about every guy with special abilities.

The area is now surrounded by families of mourners, and one must pass through this group of families to get close to the house.

Distrustful of Connors's hand-crafted armor and flamethrower, the Punisher did not choose to charge headlong into the fray.

Instead, they stopped a short distance away and began modifying the bomb.

The bomb was filled with thermite and fragments, and could be detonated remotely to produce a temperature of 3,000 degrees Celsius and a jet of metal.

The bomb's casing was bound with several pieces of rotting flesh by "The Punisher" to attract the zombies' attention.

He planned to first use bombs to wipe out all the dead houses around Ant-Man's house, and then use a flamethrower at close range to burn the entire house down.

As "The Punisher" gradually completed the modification of the bomb, the villagers began to shift their attention to him.

The bomb was placed inside a zombie that "The Punisher" had killed himself, while he himself lay in wait at a distance to ensure he wouldn't be affected by the aftershocks.

The starving bereaved families had no sense of reason; drawn by the rotting flesh, they rushed impatiently toward the bomb.

As the zombies gathered and began to pile on top of each other, "The Punisher" pressed the remote control button.

With a deafening roar, flames shot into the sky, and the stacked zombies were blown to pieces, their severed limbs flying in all directions.

With a stomp on the head of a zombie that rolled to his feet, "Punisher" didn't hesitate for a moment and charged toward "Ant-Man's" house with the help of his armor.

Halfway there, the flamethrower was already on its way, and the highly compressed gasoline from Connors was immediately sprayed out in a mist.

As the electric sparks from the flamethrower ignited, long tongues of flame instantly engulfed Ant-Man's dwelling.

"They want to eat meat? My treat—all-you-can-eat hellish barbecue!"

"The Punisher" said expressionlessly.

He didn't think his attack would be successful in killing the Ant-Man family, and that they were unlikely to stay in their home regardless of whether they had turned into zombies.

His actions were merely to attract the attention of Ant-Man's family, so that when they came looking for him, he could use a shotgun to send them all to the sky.

"Ant-Man's second possible location is the Avengers Tower in downtown New York City."

A fire burned Ant-Man's house to the ground, and the Punisher did not linger at all, immediately rushing towards the Avengers Tower.

With the help of his armor, he didn't feel tired even while carrying a flamethrower.

"Meat-"

Just as "The Punisher" had run a few steps, a little zombie girl stopped him.

The Punisher paused, looking at the zombie child who was shorter than his waist, and after a second of silence, put down the flamethrower in his hand.

Then he pulled out a pistol, aimed it at the zombie's head, and pulled the trigger.

The zombie died instantly, but unlike other zombies, its body wasn't dismembered. The Punisher pulled out a dagger and carved a few words next to the little zombie girl:

"Forgive me."

Behind the Punisher as he raced relentlessly toward the Avengers Tower, beside the corpse of the zombie little girl, the words he had carved were quickly covered by the sand blown by the wind.

"Captain, you need to return to Antarctica and sleep for another seventy years. Move aside! This is the last chance!"

Iron Man pointed his palm cannon at Captain America and said in a serious voice.

Behind Iron Man, Pepper Potts and War Machine, also clad in armor, simultaneously aimed their palm cannons at Captain America.

Not far from Iron Man and the others, Connors whispered to Gwen beside him:

Do you know them?

"Who are they?" Gwen countered. "Are they superheroes too? Like the Fantastic Four?"

Gwen's world doesn't have superheroes like Iron Man and Captain America; it seems only Connors of the Fantastic Four nods silently.

Upon sensing the energy fluctuations here, he immediately brought Gwen to the location.

Before arriving here, Connors used his "telepathy" to investigate and learn of Captain America's existence in advance.

He thought the energy fluctuation was caused by Captain America fighting zombies, but now it seems that it wasn't.

Iron Man, Pepper Potts in her rescue armor, and War Machine stood there, but Connors couldn't detect any signs of life in them.

They didn't turn into zombies; instead, they were either remotely controlling their armor or, like in the comics, "Iron Man" uploaded his and his companions' consciousness to the network.

Regardless, at this moment, the only living person besides Connors and Gwen is Captain America, who is confronting Iron Man.

Beside the two, a series of bound zombies were groaning in despair from hunger.

Iron Man attempted several times to launch the zombies into the air with a chest cannon shot, but Captain America stopped him.

"They simply lost their consciousness due to the virus infection! You should also know that those who have eaten their fill regain their senses, which shows they are just a group of ordinary people suffering from serious illness!"

"Tony, step aside! I can find a way to make everyone who's infected healthy again!"

Iron Man dismisses Captain America's claims with disdain:

"Captain, I suggest you carefully consider what you just said. Do you want to return to Antarctica and remain frozen, or stand in our way?"

To be wiped out along with these zombies?

"How is this any different from a massacre?" Captain America retorted.

"The difference is, they can no longer be called human," Iron Man couldn't help but complain. "Damn it, even if you saw a zombie with half its brains spilled out and its heart ripped out, it would still be beating around, and you'd still think it was just a seriously ill patient?"

Captain America held his shield up in front of him:

"I'm sorry, Tony, I will find a cure—"

"Bang!"

Before Captain America could finish speaking, the sound of a shotgun loaded with depleted uranium slugs rang out, piercing half of Captain America's body from his side and rear.

"Bang! Bang! Boom!"

This is the sound of an even more powerful dragon breath shot following the initial shot.

Amidst a series of clanging sounds, shrapnel struck the vibranium shield and flew in all directions.

Iron Man and his two teammates paused for a moment, then turned to look in the direction from which the bullets had come.

Click!

The Punisher pulled the bolt, discarded the empty cartridge case, reloaded, and walked over to Captain America, pointing the gun at his head.

With a bang, the head of "Captain America," who had just been righteously protecting the zombies, instantly turned into a rotten watermelon.

"Healing? This is an age of punishment, not an age of redemption."
