"what are your thoughts about baradiel?" ethan inquired. "you should know a bit about her, right?"

"well, the only thing i know about her was that thousands of years ago, she covered the world in ice," illumina inquired. "after that, the younger dryas came with a great flood that nearly erased all life on land.

"baradiel is powerful even among progenitors because she ruled over the element of ice. she didn't have a following, but races worshiped her like the fairy king, oberon, and the fairy queen, titania.

"some have said that she didn't really belong to this world and had fallen from the heavens, forever banished in this world. there are even rumors that she was a progenitor from another world who happened to have fallen in battle against the progenitors from our world."

ethan's eyes widened in shock because he didn't think about this angle.

seeing his expression, illumina began to tell him more of the rumors about baradiel, which she couldn't confirm if it was fact or fiction.

as the two of them chatted, the same person they were talking about slowly opened her eyes inside nicole's room in the eques manor.

"why are you here?" baradiel asked in an irritated tone.

"oh, dear. are you on your period or something?" a handsome devil asked with a smile. "when hecate visits you, the two of you would sometimes chat for hours. when i come to visit, you immediately want me to leave. i'm hurt-"

baradiel summoned an ice sword and placed its tip on the handsome demon's neck.

"if you want to get hurt, i can grant that wish of yours."

"such discrimination. i have rights too, you know?"

baradiel snorted and even pushed the tip of her sword against the handsome demon's neck, pushing against the skin, but not forceful enough to draw blood.

"speak." baradiel growled. "why are you here, ashmedai?"

the patron of the valentin family looked at the ice-cold woman before heaving out an over dramatic sigh.

"really, you need to fix that attitude of yours," ashmedai replied. "i'm actually a very happy- go-lucky fellow, but that doesn't mean that you can treat me like thi-oi!"

a few minutes passed, and baradiel continued to stare at the spot where ashmedai had been standing earlier.

one of the most dangerous, unpredictable, and sly progenitors of midgard had given her an offer that made her hesitate.

originally, she would have flatly rejected such a proposal.

but after thinking about it, she realized that ashmedai was right.

there were indeed no downsides... unless the progenitor of desires planned to do something that she was unable to detect in his words earlier.

'just what is he planning?' baradiel frowned.

even so, she was starting to consider ashmedai's proposal.

the more she thought about it, the more it made sense to her.

also, if things went according to plan, all the previous problems she had would be solved.

although she would suffer a bit, the end result was extremely beneficial to her, which made her more interested in the idea.

even so, she didn't fully trust ashmedai, for she knew that he had a way with words.

'i guess i'll discuss this with hecate later,' baradiel thought.

but even though she was planning to get a second opinion, she was already leaning toward accepting ashmedai's offer.

'i need to get some insurance just in case,' baradiel mused. 'trusting that demon is like

gambling with one's life.'

she didn't really trust ashmedai, but she trusted hecate to a certain extent.

with the help of the progenitor of magic, baradiel would be able to unearth whatever schemes ashmedai had set in place before he came to give her his proposal.
