END

Final remarks

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

It's over.

Aa ...

It may have been a bit rushed, and many foreshadowing elements and the fates of many supporting characters were not written out. However, the main storyline has reached its pacing and plot point, and it's not good to insert more side stories. The more you insert, the more chaotic it becomes, and I myself have written it in a mess.

Actually, the stories of many people, including many supporting characters, are not yet over, but the story of our protagonist ends here.

The mental state and inner journey of many supporting characters are actually worth describing in detail, but perhaps due to space constraints, I stopped writing about them.

Wait, it seems I've forgotten something.

Oh, right.

I've finished writing it.

Little Lamp - Lonely Lamp Night Talk - I would like to express my deepest gratitude to every reader, every reader who has read this far, every reader who has followed along, every reader who has given a reward or voted, every reader who has read or purchased my chapters. I am extremely grateful for your gracious reading.

Okay, I'm actually a bit confused right now. I drank some alcohol when I was writing my closing remarks because it was just too painful, too depressing, too torturous. I was so moved that I burst into tears and couldn't say anything.

I remembered.

Ahhhhhh, I'm kneeling again to apologize—

I am aware that the plot of this book deteriorated in the later stages, which is a problem caused by my own lack of ability. I tried very hard to continue writing and to salvage the plot, but the more I wrote, the more painful and desperate I became. This book is Xiaodengzi's first work, and I had no prior experience with long-running serializations, which led to the later plot becoming too difficult to salvage. I am very sorry that I was unable to provide readers with a better reading experience and plot.

Perhaps I should try to end it more decisively, but I always feel that I can try to write it better, try to salvage the plot, and finish the story outline—and so I have kept delaying until now.

I am very, very sorry. I am sorry and heartbroken that I cannot give this article a better plot and story. I have tried to salvage it time and time again, but I always make mistakes. Over time, the huge pressure and sitting for long periods of time have caused some problems for myself. My physical and mental state has also started to decline along with the state of the book.

Therefore, I have taken several long leave of absence before, and I am very sorry for that. I am also grateful to the readers who believed that I could finish writing this book.

What Xiaodengzi wants to say is that Xiaodengzi really tried her best to write this story well—step by step, Xiaodengzi crawled on the ground almost the whole time, crawling little by little to the end.

To be honest, as the book neared its end, my condition deteriorated, to the point where I couldn't write some chapters without drinking alcohol.

The mental state is worrying.

It might not be this book that put pressure on me. Life, studies, relationships, the future—it's all a mess. My life has been truly full of ups and downs, and things haven't gone smoothly.

Okay, let's not talk about the fragmented, aimless, and bleak current situation of authors for now. Let's cheer up and talk about the books.

This article, this book, took a full 742 days to write, spanning Xiaodengzi's entire freshman to junior year of college. Currently, it has an average of 15,000 subscriptions and 140,000 favorites.

I never expected it to be like this.

I'm so surprised, so astonished, and so grateful.

This book was something I started out of passion, simply because I wanted to read it myself, and purely because I'm a die-hard Deathguard fan.

The original plot might have only supported 300,000 words, I never imagined it would reach 3 million words, and I never imagined it would achieve its current success.

Fortunately, this book has had the support of many readers from the very beginning—although most of them have since drifted away, I am still very grateful for their support back then.

It is this support that has given me the courage to get to where I am today.

Thank you again to every reader who clicked on my book and read it. Without you, there would be no book and no Xiaodengzi today.

After many stumbles and trials, we have finally arrived at today.

Most of my breakthroughs came from flashes of inspiration and character development. Apart from that, the pacing, plot framework, and setting were terrible. Xiaodengzi knows this and is seriously learning and improving.

Perhaps the next one will be better.

Sigh, I really wanted to play the victim, but when the time came, I choked up and couldn't utter a sound.

During the writing of this book, due to some real-life events and plot setbacks, Xiaodengzi actually had some tendencies toward depression and anxiety. For a period of time, she would often run to the balcony and stare blankly at the ground, or run to the counseling room and cry her heart out to the teacher, or often shed tears for no reason. But fortunately, those most difficult days have passed.

I'm also sorry that my own performance declined, which caused the book's performance to decline. This time it was because I lacked experience and it was my first time writing a book. Maybe it won't happen next time.

There will definitely be another book, because for Xiaodengzi, writing has become another way of life. However, before that, she will probably take a long break.

I can't always bury myself in this book; I need to go out and see society and reality.

I started writing this book in my freshman year of college. Because my major was engineering, which was quite demanding, I would start writing after class every day. As a beginner, I usually wrote from 6 pm to midnight every day.

At that time, I was full of enthusiasm but also troubled by the plot, so I could only persevere, confining myself to a small corner of my dormitory and writing day after day.

As a result, my shoulder and neck were also damaged.

Later, because he didn't interact much with people and the dormitory's shady side didn't get any sunlight, his mental state began to deteriorate.

When I went home for winter and summer vacations, things weren't going well in real life either. I often had my days and nights reversed, writing in the early morning and getting up at 2 pm.

Later, his health deteriorated, but fortunately, he improved his hand speed, so he was able to maintain the storyline.

In short, that's how I finished writing this book, under those circumstances.

Now, I have to face other things, the college life I've fallen behind on. I'm a junior now, it's time to think about my future. I can't keep burying my head in the sand like an ostrich. Internships, graduate school applications, there are many things I need to do.

It was at this moment that I suddenly looked up and realized that all my classmates and friends around me had their own plans and bright futures ahead.

It's as if I'm still stuck in my freshman year, on the day I first opened the Writer Assistant app.

Ugh.

Xiaodengzi will continue writing, but the idea of a full-time writer is still too hard to accept.

Actually, I doubt whether I have the ability to be a full-time writer. This story is fan fiction and it was a niche topic at the time. It may be that I took advantage of the situation. As for being a full-time writer, I am still a bit short of the skills.

If I truly possessed the ability and talent, I probably wouldn't have made the later stages of the book so difficult.

So we still need to learn, we still need to grow, we still need to go out and learn.

That's pretty much it.

If you have any ideas or topics you'd like to see in a new book, feel free to share them here. But let me make it clear first: I plan to reward myself with a book next, and I won't be writing fanfiction anymore.

This book should theoretically have a side story, but I might have a major procrastination episode, so please don't expect it.

Finally, I would like to thank all the readers who have read this far. I am very grateful for your reading and support. I am also grateful to my editor, Penglai, and to every reader and author who has encouraged me. I apologize that my mental state was too poor later on, so I did not dare to check QQ and the book club QQ group and could not reply to messages in time. Once I have recovered, I will clean up the messages.

Last but not least, I want to thank every reader. It is because of you that this book is here, and that I am here.

Thank you for reading.
