Chapter 203. The Cosmic Prison

Chapter 203. The Cosmic Prison

Perhaps Eternity wanted to give the Goddess of Death a chance to repent, but over the endless years, she became more and more obsessive and wanted to escape her cage.

Defeating the Goddess of Death wasn't too difficult; there wasn't any spectacular confrontation, it was simply a matter of making the universe deny the existence of her consciousness.

If such cosmic rules have developed their own nature, it's fine to observe from the sidelines, but if someone subjectively intervenes in the operation of the universe, it will be an unimaginable disaster for the entire universe.

In the essence of death revealed by the goddess of death, Noah of the universe witnessed the passing of countless lives.

The loss of these lives is due to interference from the rules of the universe. How desperate is that?

Under the influence of the concept of death, no one can escape it; death becomes a predetermined fate.

This is also why Noah of the Universe insisted on erasing the consciousness of the Goddess of Death. She became an obstacle to the development of the universe. In other words, in a sense, she was helping those beings outside of the Universe, making her a traitor to the Universe.

The rules should just do what they're supposed to do; there's no need to interfere with anything else. This is the reason why the eternally fragmented consciousness should be allowed to develop on its own; we shouldn't interfere too much.

After dealing with the death, Universe Noah returned to Ji Yuan's appearance, and Little Swallow reappeared on his shoulder.

"Big brother, our combined power is amazing! I feel like there's no one in the universe we can't beat!" Little Swallow said excitedly, wishing it could happen again.

Ji Yuan held the little swallow in his hands and examined it. Its seven-colored body exuded powerful energy and possessed infinite origins. The little swallow was many times stronger than Arithm could match it.

"Don't be careless. Remember the principle that even if you are invincible within the universe, enemies will come from beyond it. Otherwise, you might be caught off guard and suffer a setback."

Within the universe, they are practically invincible, but those beings outside the universe are no pushovers; who knows what kind of enhancements they've undergone?

"Okay, I understand, big brother." Little Swallow nodded. It always trusted Ji Yuan's words. "Then, big brother, what about that bald guy outside, and that ugly armored man? I've been keeping them chained up."

Ji Yuan thought for a moment, then casually made a move, and Thanos and Aristom instantly appeared in the Eternal Cage.

This is the eternal gift after death has been resolved; Ji Yuan now has complete control over this cage.

Gazing at this abyss-like place and the lingering aura of death, then at the indifferent Ji Yuan, Thanos understood something. He didn't know whether to feel sorrow or relief, but stubbornly asked, "She's dead?"

"Dead." Ji Yuan nodded, but his gaze was fixed on Arisham, whom he sensed as a trace of fear.

Upon hearing the definite answer, Thanos didn't know what expression to make. All his years of dedication had yielded no emotional reward; in fact, in Death Goddess's eyes, he was merely a tool.

Are you angry? Of course you are. Even the most devoted person would feel upset in this situation. But more than anything, you feel sad about the death of the Goddess of Death and grateful to her.

Without death, Thanos would have been endlessly cycling through time, blindly following the path of fate. It was the Goddess of Death who gave him the chance to escape this cycle.

Amidst this intertwining of emotions...

Thanos—made a sudden move!

The purple body instantly expanded several times its original size, its skin covered with fine cracks, and purple and black light intertwined. This punch gathered everything Thanos had: life, soul, and will.

The fist, carrying the will to destroy everything, arrived in front of Ji Yuan in an instant.

Time seemed to stand still at that moment; in Thanos's eyes, there was only a mad, resolute determination.

Ji Yuan remained expressionless, and a finger appeared out of nowhere in front of Thanos's fist.

With a gentle touch, the power that could easily destroy a star dissipates like the wind.

Thanos slumped to the ground, his eyes showing no fear of death, only an acceptance of being outmatched. The law of the jungle, where the strong prey on the weak and the victor reigns supreme, has always been an ironclad rule among civilizations in the universe, and he understood it all too well.

"Kill me. Your power is beyond my reach."

"Want to die?" Ji Yuan looked at Thanos with disappointment. "I thought you would fight back and make some grand pronouncements."

"Ha!" Thanos laughed at these words. "I think I have some self-awareness in the face of absolute power. The Goddess of Death is dead, do I still have a chance? I didn't realize you had such a wicked sense of humor."

"Is that a perverse sense of humor?"

Ji Yuan rubbed his chin, his eyes darting around, and he came up with a good idea. Simply killing Thanos would be too easy; wouldn't this just satisfy his desire?

Ji Yuan never satisfies the desires of major villains, especially villains like Thanos who slaughtered countless universes just to fawn over goddesses.

Since you love the goddess of death so much, then let's be separated by life and death for a lifetime.

This cage has the strongest aura of death, making it a perfect place to imprison Thanos. We can even find him some cellmates later.

Death is a relief for some beings; only endless loneliness is torment.

With a thought, a small cell instantly appeared in the cage world, just big enough to accommodate Thanos's body, but he could only stand and couldn't even turn around.

Prisoners, what human rights do they need? Just stand still.

"What—what are you going to do?" Thanos was truly panicked now. He didn't want to be imprisoned here forever, losing his freedom; he'd rather be dead.

"Haha, of course I'll do whatever you don't like," Ji Yuan laughed. "This isn't over yet."

He pointed a finger at Thanos, whose eyes widened in terror. Thanos then slumped against the cell wall, and through the transparent barrier, he cried out, "What are you going to do? Kill me! Kill me! I don't want to stay here like this! You damn bastard!"

"How dare you!" Little Swallow roared, "The boss let you live, and you'd better be grateful! This place is full of corpses. Isn't it good for you to be with your goddess? And you dare to curse?! You're muted!"

Under Little Swallow's power, Thanos immediately lost the ability to speak and could only look at Ji Yuan pleadingly. His eyes were nothing like those of Thanos.

Ji Yuan ignored this and instead patted Xiao Tun's head: "Xiao Tun, let's be less of a rascal in the future. You are, after all, the will of the universe, so maintain some dignity."

"Yes, boss!" Xiao Tun replied immediately, his eyes firm.

Ji Yuan shook his head helplessly. Xiao Tun still spends too much time online, giving him a gangster-like demeanor.

Ji Yuan then looked at Arisham and asked, "Is there anything you want to say?"

Arithm remained silent.

Ji Yuan was not surprised by this; the gods really do keep their mouths shut.

"In that case, you can stay locked up too."

Another cell appeared out of nowhere and imprisoned Arisham in it.

Looking at his masterpiece, Ji Yuan nodded in satisfaction. "From now on, this will be the cosmic prison. I hope you can have more companions."
