Chapter 507 Contradictions
"Liar?" Andrew looked at Loila and said, "You have the nerve to say I'm lying?"
"You clearly said you wanted to cooperate with us and join the Ministry of Magic—but then you suddenly attacked us and injured so many Aurors!" Andrew's indignant expression made Loira's eyes widen.
"You—you—you!" Loila stammered, biting her lip as she said, "It was clearly you—"
"You suddenly want to arrest us!"
"You still say it's—it's Minister Fudge's order."
"When did I say such a thing? Are you trying to deceive the minister, you dark wizard?"
Seeing Andrew spouting nonsense in front of her, Loila was furious. She gripped her wand and was about to cast a Killing Curse on him when Parkinson, who was beside her, quickly pulled her back.
"Miss Hamilton, calm down!" he said, glancing at Fudge, whose face had indeed darkened completely.
"This is the Ministry of Magic! What are you doing?!" He was unusually angry, glaring at Loila. "Miss Hamilton, whose order is this?"
"Is that Dumbledore?"
"This—this has nothing to do with Dumbledore—no, that's not right!"
"You were the ones who tried to arrest me first—"
"Let's not even talk about whether or not you'll be arrested—would you resist if the Ministry of Magic wanted to arrest you?" Andrew said from the side. "Do you even have any respect for the law or the Ministry of Magic?"
"Is Minister Fauci still around?"
"You—you—" Loila realized she was tongue-tied and couldn't possibly win an argument with this guy, but why was he spouting nonsense?! You were the ones who started it all, why are you saying it was me—
I didn't do anything, I was just protecting myself!
"That's enough, Miss Hamilton." Fudge took a few deep breaths, as if to calm himself, and slowly said, "Regardless—your attack on the Aurors of the Ministry of Magic is a violation of the law—"
"According to the laws of wizarding—you must be tried by the Council of Wizengamo."
"Minister Fudge—" Parkinson quickly interjected, "Isn't this a bit inappropriate? I feel there must be some misunderstanding—"
"Edward Parkinson, are you an employee of the Ministry of Magic or Hogwarts?" Fudge asked him coldly.
"Ah—that—" Parkinson pursed his lips and said, "I'm both an employee of the Ministry of Magic and a student at Hogwarts—I just feel—"
"That's it for this matter." Fudge interrupted him with a dark expression, saying, "Miss Hamilton, if you don't want things to escalate, you'd better wait patiently for the Wizengamo Council—"
"Hmm!"
After all this talk, are you still going to arrest me?
I—I don’t believe in any of your Ministry of Magic’s trials! As someone who was almost sent to meet Merlin by another Ministry of Magic, Loira had absolutely no trust in these trial procedures.
Especially considering the way Fudge acted before—you're going to trust that guy without even any evidence?
And I can't just stand there and take the beating if you suddenly attack me, can I?
Seeing the Aurors enter with Fudge's movements, Loila immediately gripped her wand tightly—and Parkinson, seeing the scene before him, rushed to Fudge and said, "Minister, if this isn't handled properly—Principal Dumbledore might—"
"You mean Minister Fudge is afraid of Dumbledore?" Andrew immediately questioned her, "Does the Ministry of Magic or Hogwarts call the shots in the British wizarding world?!"
"That's not what I meant—" Parkinson was taken aback by what he said. He opened his mouth to explain, but Fudge seemed to have lost patience with it.
He looked at the Aurors and Loila in front of him and said, "Arrest Miss Hamilton, the suspect."
"Minister Fudge—" At this point, not only Parkinson, but even Scrinker, standing next to Fudge, had to speak up: "I think there might be something going on here—"
"Scrimgeour, are you the head of the Auror office or a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?" Fudge asked angrily, looking at him the next second. "You should know your place, shouldn't you?"
Looking at Fudge, who seemed to be getting so angry he was about to lose control, Scrimgeour and Parkinson didn't know what to do.
Meanwhile, Loila gripped her wand tightly as she watched the newly arrived Auror.
If all else fails, we can just take Minister Fudge hostage—even an Auror wouldn't kill their own minister, right?
Loila raised her wand slightly, ready to retaliate and carry out her plan the moment even one Auror made a move.
But just then, the office door was gently pushed open.
Upon seeing the person walk in, everyone present except Andrew and Fudge visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Dumbledore—Dumbledore!" Seeing Dumbledore appear, Royla was overjoyed for the first time. You old man, you've finally come!
If you don't come soon, I'm going to take Minister Fookie hostage!
"Miss Hamilton." Dumbledore walked into the office with an air of nonchalance, nodded slightly to Loila first, and then looked at Fudge, whose face was as black as charcoal.
"Connelly, what's wrong?" he asked slowly as he walked over to Loila and stood between her and Fudge.
"Dumbledore—" Looking at him, Fudge did not immediately lose his temper. He took a few deep breaths, or rather, he kept panting, as if this would calm him down.
"Headmaster Dumbledore—your professor of magic arrays openly attacked and injured more than a dozen Aurors at the Ministry of Magic—" Andrew said at this moment, "How do you intend to explain this?"
"Oh?" Dumbledore raised an eyebrow at Loila. "Is that so, Miss Hamilton?"
"Yes—they attacked first," Loila said, pursing her lips. "They suddenly said I broke the law—that I broke the law."
"Then they'll arrest me."
"—" Dumbledore nodded upon hearing this, then turned his gaze back to Fudge: "Cornelly—I don't think you would give such an order, would you?"
"—" Fudge stared into Dumbledore's eyes and said slowly, "I didn't say that—"
"It was Miss Hamilton who made the move suddenly," Andrew continued, which made Dumbledore look at him abruptly.
Although Dumbledore didn't show much expression, his face was definitely not pleasant. Andrew immediately stopped when Dumbledore suddenly stared at him like that.
"Mr. Wallace Andrew," Dumbledore began slowly, "if I remember correctly, you graduated from Hogwarts sixteen years ago—and then joined the Ministry of Magic as an Auror."
"And you even contributed to the fight against the Death Eaters, right?"
"Yes—" Andrew's expression wasn't too good. He took a few steps back and said, "But this has nothing to do with this matter—"
"As far as I know—you had a good relationship with Barty Crouch Jr. when you worked at the Ministry of Magic—" Dumbledore continued, "and now—he's not just a Death Eater, but—he's only been dead for a short time."
Have you met him?
"I—" Andrew seemed a little guilty after being questioned by Dumbledore. He stammered a few words before saying:
6
I don't know what you're talking about.
"That's for the best." Dumbledore smiled slightly upon hearing this, then looked at Fudge, who had remained silent. "It seems this was all a misunderstanding, isn't it, Cornelius?"
'
Seeing that Cornelius remained silent, Dumbledore gently shook his head and then said to Royla, "Miss Hamilton, apologize to the Auror you injured—"
"Then go back," he said, shrugging. "I imagine you still have a lot of work to do after just being discharged from the hospital, don't you?"
"Dumbledore," Fudge suddenly spoke up, looking at Dumbledore and saying slowly, "This matter cannot end like this."
"Why?" Dumbledore stared at Fudge for a moment, then looked at him thoughtfully and suddenly asked, "Who gave you your ring?"
"It looks quite precious, doesn't it?"
"————" Fukichi's face darkened as he subtly hid his hands in his sleeves, then said nothing more.
