Chapter 460 Missed Thoughts
"Loira, how's your work going?" Lupin shrugged, glancing casually at Loira who was busy inscribing a magic circle. "Need any help?"
"No—no need—Remus," Loila said quickly, turning around. "These jobs—are very interesting."
Besides, how could I possibly let my friend do something like that? My friend just needs to stay here and watch me work, and we can chat occasionally, which would be perfect for me!
Loila chuckled softly, then continued engraving another magic circle on the wall.
"So this is a maze?" Lupin asked after thinking for a moment. He bent down slightly to examine the things on the wall. Well, he still knew nothing about magic arrays.
"No—that's right." Loila nodded and whispered, "This can't be told—told to anyone."
Seeing Mr. Lupin nod, Loila pursed her lips.
Although I was happy that Mr. Lupin came here to chat with me, if I remember correctly, Mr. Lupin should still be in charge of investigating Karkaroff with Mr. Steinberg, right?
Why did the investigators suddenly come here?
Could it be that I revealed something?
Loila subconsciously looked up at Lupin, only to find that he was looking right at her.
"Ugh!" Loila quickly shrank back and lowered her head.
"Ah—sorry, Loila," Lupin said quickly, snapping out of his daze. "I just felt that you—seemed quite happy lately."
Mr. Lupin seems to have said this before—Loila bit her lip, not daring to answer, after all, the reason for her happiness seemed a little—not so interesting.
But how did Mr. Lupin realize he was happy—was it his ears?
Loila subconsciously rubbed her ears.
"Hahaha—don't misunderstand, Loila, I didn't tell from your ears." Lupin explained, as if realizing something, "I only knew from your eyes."
Besides my ears, do my eyes also betray me?
"Your eyes are completely different from a few months ago," Lupin said casually. "Back then, you looked preoccupied, and sometimes very cold—like you were about to attack someone."
Lupin paused for a moment and then said, "It's like the look in the eyes of an angry kitten."
Loila paused for a moment upon hearing this, then immediately turned to look at Lupin. "What do you mean by this, Mr. Lupin? What do you mean by an angry kitten?!"
That's very disrespectful!
However, Lupin continued as if he hadn't seen it, "Of course, things are completely different now."
"It seems much more relaxing," Lupin said after a moment's thought. "Of course, I could just be mistaken."
"After all, didn't you say it was nothing?"
Lupin's words made Loila nod a little awkwardly, "Yes, nothing happened—nothing happened."
However—as if remembering something, Loila asked casually, "By the way, Re—Remus—"
"Weren't you and Mr. Steinberg investigating Principal Karkaroff's matter?"
"Ah—that's right." Lupin nodded slightly and said, "I arranged to meet him here."
"But he doesn't seem to have arrived yet."
So you came here to chat with me just for this reason?! Loila immediately pouted in dissatisfaction.
"That's not what I meant," Lupin said, as if realizing something. "It was I who brought it up."
"I hope we meet here," Lupin said, scratching his head. "Because I haven't had many opportunities to talk to you lately."
If that's the case, then I'll forgive you.
Loila chuckled softly, then asked, "So—did you find anything out?"
"Was the killer really Sirius Black?"
"————" Lupin paused for a few seconds after hearing the words Sirius, then his expression became slightly serious.
"Loila—to be honest—I don't believe Sirius did this," he said slowly. "Because—I know what kind of person he is—"
"This matter seems to be related to him—" He shook his head, not finishing his sentence, but suddenly gave a self-deprecating laugh: "But I never expected him to betray his friend—"
"Remus—" Looking at Lupin's somewhat sad expression, Loila pursed her lips, feeling a little embarrassed—Sirius was indeed not behind this, and Mr. Lupin's guess was correct.
But I can no longer tell Mr. Lupin about this—because—
"I'm fine, Loila." Lupin looked up and gave a slight smile. "I still have you as a friend, don't I?"
"That might be enough."

Loila lowered her head in silence, unsure of what to say. She should have been happy, but as Mr. Lupin's friend, hadn't she also lied to Mr. Lupin?
And I am also a murderer—in fact, I am the very person Mr. Lu Ping is currently trying to capture—if I am really discovered—I certainly can no longer be Mr. Lu Ping's friend, can I?
He couldn't be discovered—absolutely not—Roy took a deep breath, then slightly tightened his grip on the hem of his clothes—
It's alright—it's alright—I have an alibi, and they don't know about my relationship with Karkaroff—they won't have a chance to find out, will they?
Loila calmed herself down a bit, then pursed her lips and looked at Mr. Lupin: "Reims—and who are you, then?"
"Ah—I'm not quite sure either," Lupin said, sounding a bit of a headache. "There are so few clues available."
"Maybe we'll never catch the killer in our lifetime," he said, shaking his head.
This might be a good thing—Loila nodded slightly without saying anything more.
Or perhaps she didn't know what to say.
"Good morning, Professor Lupin, Professor Hamilton." A slightly serious voice came from inside; it was Mr. Steinberg.
He walked over to the two of them and nodded to both Loila and Lupin.
"Professor Hamilton, it seems you've made rapid progress, even though it's only been a few days."
"Hmm...hmm!" Loila was still a little guilty in front of him. She nodded and said, "But it will take a while...time."
"That's fast enough, isn't it?" Sterberg shrugged. "It's a pity we only have one magic array expert—it would be better if we had a few more."
"Then each of them would have to be as skilled as Loila," Lupin said with a smile.
Hmm—it's probably best to forget about it then. If there really are a lot of magic array experts here, I'll definitely be discovered—
“Then we won’t disturb Professor Hamilton any longer,” Steinberg said, glancing at Lupin. “Shouldn’t we go and investigate?”
"Okay!"
Watching the two leave, Loila breathed a sigh of relief, but then had to pray that they wouldn't find out anything.
"Professor Lupin—I have a question for you." As they walked, Steinberg suddenly looked at Lupin, his tone flat and without much inflection.
"What's the problem?"
"How powerful do you think the magic circle is?" Steiberg asked, as if he were having an academic discussion.
"I don't know anything about magic circles," Lupin said matter-of-factly. "Perhaps you should ask Professor Hamilton about that."
Steinberg shook his head slightly: "Precisely because only she understands—that's why I can't ask, isn't it?"
"—" Lupin paused, then frowned as if he understood something: "Mr. Steinberger—are you questioning Professor Lowe—Hamilton?"
"It can't be hers." Lupin immediately shook his head: "She's not the kind of person who would do something like that."
"Is that so?" Stöger paused, then looked at Lu calmly and asked, "So—how well do you know her?"
