Chapter 49
Chapter 49
It’s been the seventh day since I returned to this world.
Currently, Hyungkeshni and I are still in the mansion located on the outskirts of the capital. But today, we’re left without doing anything, just sitting idle.
That’s because the Ansellus Kingdom is holding Tis-ha’s funeral. The coffin has been making its way around the capital for three days, and it’s headed to the cemetery to be buried.
Of course, there’s no body in the coffin.
Because the crack that resembles a fully bloomed flower can't be shown on the lower half of the body.
But that’s not the reason.
On the day I returned to this world, just as I was finishing talking with the king, the black hole in the crack suddenly widened, swallowing up the remaining body, and then it disappeared along with the blooming crack in the air.
When I was asked if I knew anything, I answered no. No, I truly didn’t know.
It was the first time I came out through the crack, and it was also the first time there were this many children of the blessed person.
So, who could have known that the crack would shrink again and suck up the body?
But after that, my body became strangely heavy. At first, I thought it was a misunderstanding, but now, a week later, my body feels very heavy.
The fortunate thing is, since I rarely move anyway, Hyungkeshni wouldn’t notice.
I suspect it’s like the power line being pulled out to charge.
Anyway, since I can still bestow blessings without issue, I think it’s fine.
More importantly, while Hyungkeshni is diligently writing her book, I’m wondering if I can somehow create a proxy to bestow blessings.
The question is whether the person who is not me can receive the blessing if they bestow it.
To experiment with this, the right environment needs to be prepared, but under the current circumstances, it’s difficult to proceed.
I’ve already given a rather passive impression, and if I proceeded with something dangerous while Hyungkeshni hasn’t finished the book yet, and if the Ansellus Kingdom changes its mind and orders everyone to be killed... well, it would be bad.
I really hope Hyungkeshni finishes the book soon.
Anyway, today there’s no opportunity to bestow blessings since it’s during the funeral.
The entire Ansellus Kingdom is mourning. Tis-ha’s funeral began yesterday, and it will finish tomorrow.
In other words, it’s not a good time to do anything until tomorrow.
Additionally, since the funeral started yesterday, I wasn’t invited. The priests from the Holy Spirit Church are leading the ceremony, so of course, it’s right that I wasn’t invited.
Tomorrow. Or maybe the day after.
Once the funeral is over, they will probably discuss my fate. By that time, we’ll know what will happen to me. It’s highly likely that my life is in danger, but I don’t care much about that.
If I die, I’ll probably fall back to the ground.
What if I truly die?
Then, I’ll be glad I no longer feel the cold that seeps into my bones.
“When will the book be finished?”
“Stop rushing me.”
Next to Hyungkeshni, there are stacks of paper piled up to the height of my fingertips to my elbow, and she’s still writing, which shows that there’s a lot to do.
Or maybe she’s thinking of something else.
I can’t tell what she’s writing.
Considering the time it would take to put this into someone’s head and the time it would take to learn it all and use it, it’s going to take a long time.
But, well, if it happens here, sure.
I can conduct the experiment in another place.
I can make time flow differently.
It’s like watching multiple movies at the same time.
If you open several screens and press play on all of them at once, they move forward in sync. But if you stop one, time stops in that place while the others continue, right? If needed, I can also change the speed of time.
Unfortunately, though, I can’t rewind.
If I could, I’d be able to meddle with the past, and I understand why that’s impossible.
You can’t ignore time, so there’s no way I could be a god.
When people talk about gods, they mainly mention immutability and omnipresence. If immutability is the point, I could somehow replicate it using the ability to regenerate, but omnipresence is impossible.
I can watch many people at once, but I can’t observe a single person in multiple timeframes.
Then, I poke her.
In return, Hyungkeshni gets irritated, angry.
But if I don’t get irritated, the sense of danger will decrease.
And that’s when it will be easier once the book is written.
What if Hyungkeshni changes her mind and continues to interfere with my summoning?
The contract was made for the book and not to take warmth. These two things were exchanged.
If she writes the proper book and then tries to kill the blessed people and block my summoning like before, I won’t have the power to stop her.
Don’t think that just because I torment her so much that I’ll make sure to give her a hard time even if I die.
But if I don’t do anything, and if Hyungkeshni moves to prepare a countermeasure for me, I’ll regret it.
So, I stay close, smiling brightly, occasionally poking her cheek or side, telling her to write quickly.
“With such an impatient personality, how did you endure the past half year?”
Eventually, Hyungkeshni put some force into the writing tool and broke it, then glared at me while asking back. Her expression after speaking was very funny.
So, I decided to speak plainly.
“You were called into a cult that summons gods by killing people, and you think you can be at ease?”
She looks at me with an expression like “What nonsense is this monster talking?” Well, I understand, but...
I already told Hyungkeshni that I was once human, right?
I also have a human-like perspective.
“In the end, you deceived Yasle and stole his knowledge, and now you’re saying that to me. Do you think I’ll fall for it?”
“When did I ever lie?”
“Lying is a human privilege.”
Not exactly, though. In fact, many animals imitate others to deceive them. But I don’t mention that. If I said that, I’d confess that I’ve deceived others.
Instead, I’ll poke.
“You called me ‘Outer God.’”
I say it once more.
It’s all your responsibility.
Hyungkeshni frowns.
Then, she opens her hand, throws the broken writing tool away, and grabs a spare tool to continue writing the book.
Silence.
After a while, Hyungkeshni finally spoke.
“What plan are you working on now?”
She asked a proper question.
That’s right. Hyungkeshni is a coward, but she’s not stupid.
“I’m planning to get more warmth. I’m still very cold.”
So, I explained the truth.
From beginning to end, my goal hasn’t changed. Back when I was in the Mirae Hope Sect, I stayed silent because it was dangerous not to. Now I can speak, so I do.
And from a distance, I can see the king meeting with the high priest of the Holy Spirit Church, discussing my treatment. I’m watching the scene through the king’s eyes.
I don’t think I’ll be here much longer.
I’ll have to speed up my approach to Hyungkeshni.
I placed my hand on Hyungkeshni’s hand.
She doesn’t flinch anymore.
There’s training where you give frequent stimulation to a puppy so that later, no matter what happens, they’ll respond indifferently.
Hehe.
“But I’m not taking your warmth.”
Hyungkeshni raises her hand and gestures a curse, then moves the writing tool again.
Desensitization training is successful.
