Qilin wasn’t surprised when the attack failed. He deactivated his many Talents and put more energy into Phantom. Six other shadow soldiers emerged, while the twelve were still grasping onto Qing Ling’s weapons.
Qing Ling frowned, using Metal once more to try and retrieve the weapons. Qilin kept the weapons in the shadow army’s control with the help of Telekinesis.
His plan was clear: Qing Ling’s battle prowess depended on her weapons, and taking the weapons from her would effectively undermine her strength.
He looked up at Qing Ling. Due to their distance, he couldn’t send the soldiers to fight her, but the range of his control over water elements was much greater.
He lifted his right hand.
The fire hydrants behind him burst. Water shot toward Qing Ling in dozens of streams, quickly freezing into ice spears.
You think that’s enough?!
Qing Ling used the one Butterfly Twin Blade left under her feet as a stepping stone to launch herself to the side, dodging the ice spears. She landed on a building and ran along the wall. Then she leaped toward the other side of the road.
As she jumped between the buildings, eight ice spears chased after her and ended up plunging into the buildings.
She wasn’t simply dodging the attacks. Electric currents crackled out of her right palm like a strange magnetic stone in light form. As she jumped away, she pulled hard with her hand, and metal objects including window grids, AC units, billboards’ metal stands, lamp posts, and street signs flew toward her.
In the blink of an eye, she landed on the opposite building across, and the second before more ice spears rained down on her, she made another powerful leap toward the other side of the road once more, the “magnet” in her right hand pulling the metal objects in range along.
In a matter of seconds, Qing Ling had zigzagged between the buildings and collected all metal objects in her way while dodging the ice spears, approaching Qilin in the middle of the road.
When Qilin realized what Qing Ling was planning, the metal objects following her had already formed an asteroid band, hurtling toward him with her.
Qing Ling launched herself from the Butterfly Twin Blade.
With a thrust of her right hand, her Tang Dao was already in her hand, stabbing at Qilin.
Clang! Qilin parried the tip of the blade about to penetrate his throat with a swing of his cane, using Telekinesis at the same time to trap Qing Ling’s Tang Dao.
Having predicted it, Qing Ling let go of her Tang Dao and twisted her body around. Her Xiu Dao was suddenly in her left hand.
The blade sliced at Qilin’s neck. Unable to move his cane in time, Qilin raised his shadow-armored arm instead to block the attack.
The powerful attack scattered the shadow into strands. They followed the movement and grappled Xiu Dao, wrenching it out of Qing Ling’s hold.
Again, Qing Ling had let go of her weapon earlier, twisting around in the air and stepping on the Black Gold darts flying under her feet. With a quick leap, she flipped forward over Qilin’s head, catching two Black Gold blades in the air.
Clang, clang! Upside down, she brought the blades down on Qilin’s shoulders.
Qilin sank to the ground, feeling his shoulders tense. His shadow armor had been shifting all over his body multiple times to defend him, causing gaps to form.
He used Telekinesis once more.
Clang, clang!
But then Qing Ling let go of her weapons faster again, catching the two other single-edge swords. As she landed, she whirled around to swing at Qilin’s back. This time, the fierce blade auras cut the thin part of the shadow armor open, drawing blood.
Qilin hissed in pain. Instead of taking her weapons and pinning her down with Telekinesis, he opted to activate Six Senses Judge.
The wave of energy deprived Qilin of his vision, and Qing Ling of her vision and hearing.
She was now wielding her Butterfly Twin Blades—both of them. She rushed toward Qilin before the world suddenly became dark and silent.
But it didn’t matter!
