Chapter 310 Crono Leach
Chapter 310 Crono Leach
Seth on the other woke up slowly, he felt a bit refreshed and alive again.
His face became rosy unlike the pale skinny it was. He raised his head up and saw the vice captain moving at high speed dodging and parrying the strings that were attacking him.
'Every time something impacts my mind I feel like I recover more!' Seth thought, but as if his reasoning had returned and he looked at the attackers and understood their intentions.
'I really was dumb moment ago!' Seth mocked himself.
But still, he knew his reasoning was still lacking and he needed to fight seriously but then he was feeling a strange level of serenity, what if he took a nap.
He already has a pseudo-avatar fighting for him.
This idea felt good to him and he closed his eyes. The attackers thought he was trying to remain lucid but due how damaged the attack was to him he failed to do so.
Seth regained his earlier ability of being in game and real life. Experience more on empire
Now he can feel his cabin and the people outside but also can mildly feel the battle happening in the game.
But there was something strange as he felt as if his cabin had changed a bit but then he chucked that to the device he attached it to.
The one that will make him connected with this cabin even if he logged in to Coinavator.
Upon resting he noticed something, another connection with the strings and the thing controlling them. There was a thin link between them and he can feel how he was influencing the Threefold World Fence.
No matter what they do, the strings are as strong as ever, they also don't make mistakes just because Seth seemed asleep or out cold as they presumed.
"The thing is really independent. We need to get rid of it." Captain Navy said before he looked at the cabinet holding the red book hostage, he thought, 'Based on the intel the book was his strongest weapon. This confirms it as this skill comes out of it!'
His gaze shifted to the soldier that summoned the cabinet, immediately Shema the Vice Captain and iron scale dragon dashed there.
Each placed a hand on either side of the cabinet. This allowed the summoner to raise his hand from the ground and then activate another skill.
His body radiated energy and a giant sword, his body size manifested after the ground rapture. It has intricate patterns with both blue and red colour.
The Zweihänder sword was imposing and would be devastating when it attacked.
The sword waved back to build up momentum for the strike.
At that moment, Seth, who was enjoying the two worlds, suddenly felt a chill and he was pulled back to the game. Torrent of information reached him about the Zweihänder by the First Fold String.
The string has gathered that the sword was very dangerous and if it attacked them the strings would be canceled completely.
Seth's animation was competent enough to wield the strings well better than Seth but elaborate moves and defense against complex skill like the sword will make it unable to make correct judgment.
All this happened when the Zweihänder was waving back.
To the attackers, they only saw Seth snapping back awake and the strings appeared and they pulled to move Seth from his position.
Captain Navy smirked as the strings met with transparent glass confining them in place and the sword was now descending very fast.
"Tîwēñɗ"
The Temporal Warrior shouted a spell to force the rewind skill. They went a second before the attack.
This time everyone jumped back and activated their defense skills.
The worst thing was they could remember vividly what had happened and the phantom pain lingered.
Captain Navy took a step to attack when suddenly a heart reaching scream assaulted his ears. The time rewinder was now the victim.
"Rewind!" He was ordered but he noticed that the man was shimmering which he noted as a time fluctuation.
"Stop!" The captain shouted as his special eyes gleaned what was happening but the Temporal Warrior was already in time glitch.
Captain Navy's hand glowed blue and he grabbed the man before he dashed a kilometre away from the battlefield before his right hand glowed green and grabbed toward the glitched man.
The hand passed through him and he yanked something out and threw it away.
He then turned and ordered in a booming voice,
"War!"
His voice reached the struggling soldiers and upon hearing that, they all smiled before a spike of energy and pressure emitted from each one of them.
They have been unshackled!
The captain then looked at the thing he extracted, it was a piece of meter long string wiggling before it dissipated.
His attention turned to the Temporal Warrior that now had a look of horror and panting with sweat covering his face.
"It latched onto me like a Crono Leach and I mistakenly activated rewind to remove it which made it possible to rewind with me."
He panted as he spat out the experience.
"The worst part was if I hadn't rewind, it wouldn't have lasted long but upon each rewind, it regained its strength and changed its attack pattern."
Now he closed his eyes before he snapped his eyes open.
"That fellow is sinister and that strings aren't simple. In the glitch I rewind more than a hundred times but each time the strings change their attack pattern."
This implied that they can't leverage the rewind information to fight the strings.
The captain was silent for a while.
"Hmm. No wonder the commander said relying on Rewind is a greatest weakness to those who manipulate time!" He commented.
'Time Rewind is great when facing all kinds of opponents but there are those that can exploit its weakness. Like Juma of Hourglass, that monster was too great of a fighter that I will never want to face even with Time Powers. And now this guy too and he is from the Hourglass team.'
Captain Navy Blue thoughts.
