Chapter 231: Harming Ego
Chapter 231: Harming Ego
"Hey, Stonely, we need more Mushi and you should go back to your work!" An angry man shouted as he came closer. There was zero respect for her as he was full of contempt and dissatisfaction.
Seth felt something stabbed him in his heart, and anger from nowhere bubbled up but he turned around wondering what was happening. The pain in his heart was real though, even though he can infer it wasn't physical.
There were two men, one wearing Brown Attire and the other in casual clothes, like an NPC but he was a player.
"I'm sorry!" Chief Stonely said but looked at Seth for permission. Subtly Seth nodded, imperceptible to the two newcomers.
"You are a guest, so you must not distract our people at work!" The one that spoke was the man with casual clothes, "If you do that again, you will be considered violating the rules!"
[You have Zero Nobility Points]
[Your +70 Exp Orb have been used]
This was a new thing and he didn't know what but he felt his heart ease up as if a spike was removed from his heart but there was a remnant pain.
'Nobles have pride and ego, disrespecting them is like actual harm to them!' Seth concluded. He did feel weakened and felt his mind become fuzzy. Soon he recovered back to normal by then the people had left.
Chief Stonely gave them a bunch of Mushi and she ordered one of her people to fetch her something. She looked at Seth, his face was normal, but his eyes held emotions, complicated emotions as if he was in pain from being internally harmed.
'He is a chief or equivalent of a chief. He also took us as his people!' Seth surmised. She inherited her position from the original chief and knew it hurt one's heart to be invaded and controlled by others.
'Stay patient, you need to achieve that attribute, only with it will one balance their authority.' She thought and then decided they would have some conversation about it if there was time. She has been in that pain too and was still in it but seeing him made her happy and that alleviated her pain.
Coming back to normal Seth decided to go see Zambia and the team but was stopped by Chief Stonely.
"We decided to give you this and please do not mind their attitude. They brought more boon to us!" She said. Seth nodded and collected the box.

"It's a good tool but we can't use it due to increasing requirements. And if one doesn't fulfil it, its level will regress until they become grade 0!" She added.
"Thank you" Seth with a smile." He then glanced at Vera's statues but a prompt came on.
[Statue Grade too high to use the Kit!]
"Yes. I agreed with you, my symbiote partner!" She said elated. "But..." he added and her whole attention fell on him. "What scared you exactly?" He asked.
"You know humans have grades right? To me, I felt its grade was higher than mine. Just like how most Grade 1 will feel toward Grade 3"
"Hmm. So you are basically a paper that meets a superior paper!" Seth concluded but he found her with a forced smile. That was exactly what she was, a human paper.
Seth dragged the conversation elsewhere, "So, I really want more of them. Please stock more for me!"
"Okay!" She forced out, it hit her that Seth was able to recognise one of her true features.
"By the way, what does this thing do? I mean, I can't use it!" Seth asked about the oval moon.
"Many things. Food, energy to power everything. It can be used on everything with less or zero side effects. It can regulate bloodlines, aid in bloodline fusion, and remove adverse effects of bloodlines. Improved skills, give new attributes. A clear mind helps resist adverse conditions.
That time you gave Fist that Crystal, he was able to improve his bloodline just by holding it and also healed his hidden injury. It also helps purify his aura. And..." she whispered, " I'm more human now that I held it. I believe if I consumed more of it I might remove my adverse effects or even control it! Hopefully!"
Seth stared at her, he did know that it was versatile but he never saw it that way because he didn't have this kind of detail. He just remembered the people he guided to Living Roots, imagining if each one had eaten it before they were entangled by the vines. But then he made a mental note to go around forcing it under their throat.
"Amazing. No wonder dragons fought and almost killed themselves for it!"
"True. But, Oval Moon X is better. It seemed refined and made for consumption or charm. Now by holding it, my strength is +5, my Intelligence is +5, and my health was standard at Good moved to Great. And there is a prompt: as long as I use it under the moon, it will never be used off.
That means I can just stash it away when the sun is up and bring it out when the sun is down to have the bonus indefinitely!"
Seth was flabbergasted, he quickly gave her another Oval Moon X and said, "Thank you for explaining that to me. I actually can't see the effect that way." He quickly brought a book and began to write down her description.
"Let me make you a book with Bvp!"
"Okay,"
All she had to do was touch the book and then make a paper fold like a book. After some minutes, she snapped her hand and a transparent book with 1000 pages appeared, and another one. That happened over 10 times before she appeared very tired.
"You know I'm a scribe, keep making books like this too, please. Let's tally with the other 100,000 papers we agreed upon!"
"Yes, partner!" She said tiredly, "It was because of the oval moon that seemed to improve my stamina and now I'm recovering faster!"
"Damn. This is gold. Gather more information please, so that I know their actual price." Serh said.
"I don't recommend selling them at Gold value. Use other valuable materials as a wager!"
Saying that Seth felt serene in his heart and the two ovals glow a bit that only Seth understands. He also understood the moon. Based on that old lady, the one with the people he guides to Living Roots, Moon was the pillar that helps suppress the remnants of will and spirit of the powerhouses that died during the war thousand years ago. So, its crystal was refreshing and good for living.
'The moon has Ego too, it doesn't want its gift to be counted in gold!'
"Hmm. Thank you for the advice!" Seth said sincerely. His Noble class seemed to have a lot of perks that he can't understand.
Rena has never looked at him with trust and gladness like this. She also spoke the truth toward him. This was unlike how others see him, they seem to be always guarded and wary of each other and especially him due to the stigma they have with him because of confusing Red Valley incidents.
The duo come back to the tent where the great Hourglass team were. But the moment he entered, his eyes zoomed toward someone that was looking at him. She was sitting but she stood immediately in concerned wariness.
