Chapter 153: The Terrible Truth
Chapter 153: The Terrible Truth
"We don't have time. The Great Blast Dragon may come at any time. If we want to visit the Treasure site we should do it now. As you know, she might want to make Seth guide her to that cave he told us!"
They all nodded. As Zambia was her emissary, he will have to inform her that Seth has seen a dragon cave. So to avoid that, they have to search the treasure site before she comes.
But then a debate happened about which Treasure Site should they visit. There were eighteen places and each one had something that one of them wished but in the end. The Yellow Room was chosen.
"Blessing, if he isn't taken by the Dragon, we will help find your path home. For now, we need to hurry, go and come back!" Rena said.
The girl has thought that she will be given the privilege of finding her home first. Sadly, more players were inclined to go to Yellow Room. Samsi was pleased about that.
Seth walked out of the meeting room to stretch his limbs and get fresh air but he froze, "Fuck!" Above him was a dragon staring back at him.
The dragon wasn't a Blast Dragon but foreign, it has green scales, wings with horns at the joints, a pair of limbs and a tail with a sharp stinger.
Its eyes were green and its snout was longer than normal dragons. It stared at Seth with startling intelligence in observation.
'I forgot that this thing was tracking me. Am I going to be a dragon Voice Activator? Why the hell did I help that girl activate her aura? now, I was locked on'
Seth thought fast and lamented his bad decisions, at the same time he was thinking about how to fight it and escaped.
He has Dragon Halo Pulse, he has Elevated strike and then Mantle Of Slavery. His mind raced as he calculated how to face the situation and wondered if he would be able to succeed.
But then the dragon veered its eyes away from him. The mental pressure he was feeling was reduced and he heard curses from players as they came out.
Zambia and Juma were the ones a bit composed as they moved to attack but then the signature ability of all the dragons came down. The dragon pressure.
All the people in the village screamed and they fell flat on the ground while the players were reduced to kneeling.
Seth was still standing but ready to fight to his full. Then, his mind blanked away and he woke up later and found green vines on the ground, wrapping around his legs, his body becoming very stiff and unmoving.
At the same time, Blessing Winter screamed at the top of her lungs as she began to float forward, toward the dragon.
'Oh, thank God!'
Seth was relieved but then he realized that he was feeling good about the demise of someone.
Gurgle!
Gurgle!
The cloak was still digesting the red liquid it feeds from the red river. And he can feel it is improving and upgrading.
"What the fuck is happening. Why was there another dragon trying to kill us!" Fist, the largest player shouted. He was frightened.
Seth looked at the vines. They aren't there anymore. Then he gazed at Zambia and he demanded an explanation. But the man just ignored him and sat panting.
"We need an explanation. Seth. Is that you?" Ash asked, "this happened because you activate her aura, right? Did you put a mark on her?"
Ash was the one that asked Seth if he could activate his aura too but he was sceptical.
Before Seth said anything, Juma said, "Let's not throw accusations around. Gawee is ruled and populated by dragons. And they are in constant competition among themselves when it comes to having followers and all. So, this might be some sort of skirmish between them that made the other dragon attack!"
The explanation was simple but players that need some sort of idea to cling to nodded and one player with brown skin added, "You see, the blast dragon even tried to take her away before the dragon breath reached her. Thankfully, she escaped by herself too. This might be a contest for good followers!"
There was silence but Seth's mind was occupied by fear of actual death. He has met Dave, and he confirmed to him that certain deaths are real, the bad thing was you never remember that death was real after exiting the game.
He had come across death too when he faced Roana Prada when he was in Red Valley and now. When the dragons that sought to activate its voice kill you... you will truly die.
"Do you know some deaths are real!" Seth shouted at the players. They all looked at him and a dark expression appeared on their faces.
"I have been to a sanctuary where they sacrificed players and their death in-game is real in life. I have met with a dangerous enemy where I was told if I died, I'm truly dead in life!" Seth shouted at them, fear evident in his voice.
"There is some truth but it was usually the malfunction of the game cabin, the press...!" Moore Lander tried to explain but was cut off. He was another player.
"You won't remember, even if someone died in the game when you woke up. If she died, and then we all woke up in the real world and saw her death ceremony broadcasting, we would not even remember where she died. Only after we come back in the game will we remember!" Seth shouted.
"You're kidding right?" Another player asked with a trembling voice.
"You will not even remember this terrible truth I'm telling you now after the game, you will only remember the good part of it" Seth calmed down a bit and breath for a moment, "my goal was to exit this continent, as its terror was as real as the real world. This place is high level and we are just ants in titans lands." Seth explained.
Now everyone was gaping at Seth, they couldn't refute him because deep down they felt it was real. However, some already knew this.
