Strongest Superhuman System

Chapter 732: Japanese Superhuman Alliance

Chapter 732: Japanese Superhuman Alliance

Megumi’s emotionless face stared deep into the mirror, almost like she was trying to see through the mirror and into her reflection on the other side. Her hand came up to her face and she slowly used two fingers to spread her lips into a strange, strained smile. She held it there for a while and tried her best to force the muscles in her face to keep that look in place, but the moment she let go of her face, her mouth dropped back into the emotionless state it had been in, and Megumi could almost feel a stream of anger rising from her heart!

But just as quickly as the anger came, it dissipated like steam and Megumi was left with nothing in her heart but an emptiness that gave her no satisfaction. Megumi closed her eyes and sighed before she started to tie her hair behind her head with a rubber band.

Everyone around Megumi thought she was becoming more and more detached because she was getting too strong. They all thought she was just becoming distant because she was looking down on them. Megumi didn’t explain her situation to anyone and she was never going to tell them because she knew that her family was only going to get worried and try to force her to stop what she was doing. Rather than making them worry about her every moment, she would rather continue having the slightly distant relationship that she currently had with them forever. In time, Megumi knew that she would lose all feeling of love for her family and she just hoped that by then her family would have moved on without her.

Megumi put on some black panties and a black sports bra before she moved to take up the cargo pants and sweatshirt that Yukki had left out for her. She strapped her sword to her waist after putting on the clothes and she began to leave the bathroom to board the helicopter.

Outside the house, Yukki was still waiting for Megumi with her bag and she bowed respectfully and handed Megumi the bag as Megumi came out. Yukki pointed out a few more things that Megumi had to take care of after meeting with the Director, and Megumi just nodded calmly before she went to board the helicopter, and they took off towards the Superhuman Alliance building.

...

Ratatatatata!

Megumi nodded to the Director’s secretary and started to follow after him as he led her towards the building. As they passed two large statues that were erected near the entrance, Megumi looked up at the large statue of her that had been created only two years ago after she fought and killed her one-hundredth anima. That day was seen as a great memory for almost everyone in the country and there wasn’t a single person who wasn’t trying to get close to Megumi to take pictures or have her sign their clothes that day. But all Megumi could remember from that day was how she couldn’t bring up the feeling of happiness she knew she was supposed to be feeling. Megumi only knew that it was around that time when she really started to lose her emotions.

Megumi shook her head slightly and turned away from the statue of her before she continued following the man into the building. The Superhuman Alliance building was just as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside. Everywhere you looked, Japanese aesthetics seemed to scream back at you, showing off the rich culture of the Japanese people, while still giving off a modern and vibrant vibe that managed to make anyone feel at ease! Megumi would have smiled if she had the capacity for it. This building was one of the only things she liked about the Superhuman Alliance in Japan!

The large lobby at the entrance of the building was also packed with people who were moving about. There was a receptionist desk on the other side of the room where some people were signing in for one appointment or another. But once Megumi stepped into the building, it felt like the entire room fell into silence at the same time.

Megumi allowed her emotionless gaze to sweep across the room slowly before she continued on her way after making sure there was nothing strange about anyone there. The man leading Megumi gave the receptionist a nod and the receptionist said nothing as he bowed to both the man and Megumi while welcoming them to the Superhuman Alliance.

Megumi and the secretary walked towards the horizontal elevator on the other side of the room, and the man pressed the button to open up the doors that led into a tube-like glass chamber. The glass chamber was inside a tunnel that was made from glass, so the people inside the elevator would be able to see through not only the wall of the elevator but also the wall of the tunnel so that they could see the different people and guests moving around while making their way through the building.

Since the Superhuman Alliance building was built horizontally wide rather than upwards into a skyscraper, the designer decided that it would be more sensible to create a way for those inside the building to move from one place to another without having to walk for more the full thirty acres to get from one side to the other!

Megumi entered the elevator and went to lean against the glass wall of the elevator while watching as the secretary entered and used his employee card on a cardreader embedded in the wall to type in the section that they were going to.
