Chapter 728 Battle Angel
S ranks weren't meant to fight against Elder Eldritch monsters! It was just too much!
Kenshi could already feel his mana failing as he used more and more of it to try and defend himself against the relentless assault from the stingray! The stingray sent its tail after Kenshi over and over again, using it as a battering ram to try and tear him apart! Kenshi would always use his explosions to try and redirect the tail to the side, but the sheer force of the stingray's swings was causing Kenshi's mana to drop at a very rapid pace! If Kenshi realizes that he couldn't redirect any of the attacks, he would simply duck and roll to get away from the monster!
Kenshi raised his hand up as the monster unleashed another swipe from its tail, and he released four blasts at the monster's face to throw off its aim!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The explosions of light and sound threw the monster off from its target and it slammed its tail into the ground instead! The entire beach trembled from the blow and the people who were running away all stumbled, and some of them even fell as they couldn't keep their feet under them!
Kenshi cursed as he felt his feet give out from under him! Kenshi was really close to the monster, so all the sand under his feet shifted once the monster slammed its tail on the ground, and Kenshi was thrown to the ground immediately!
ROARRR!
The monster roared and Kenshi cried out in fright as he saw the stingray rising to its full height! Its large wing-like fins were spread out wide beside it, and once Kenshi saw the full size of the monster, it was like all the fight inside of him immediately dissolved into nothing! He was going to die! He was definitely going to die here!
If Kenshi had known that this was going to happen, then he would have told another S-rank to come help out! Or they could have waited for the reinforcements to arrive from the mainland! This was madness! What the hell did he think he was doing when he decided to come here alone? Did he think this was some fucking movie where you came and fought against a powerful opponent and defied all the odds to emerge victorious somehow? No! This was how people died!
It was already nighttime in Japan, so the only source of light in the region was the solitary moon hanging in the sky above them, and as Kenshi saw the moonlight glisten off the body of the large Elder Eldritch, he knew that there was no way he was surviving this...
"Kenshi-sempai! I'll help you!"
"Wait! No, wait!"
An A-rank from Kenshi's guild quickly started to run towards him to try and help him and Kenshi quickly shouted to tell her not to do it! She was going to get killed!
A female voice came through the comms and spoke in rushed Japanese, and Megumi didn't even show any sign that she heard what was being said as she just stared right at the monster in front of her while releasing even more pressure. The monster roared in agitation as it felt challenged by her presence, and it splashed into the water in a show of force before it started to make its way toward her while ignoring all of the other humans around it! This human was challenging it to a fight by unleashing this pressure! There was no way it would allow that to go without showing the human who was the stronger creature!
The monster continued to move towards Megumi quickly, and it finally got to the large hill where she was standing and rose out from the water with a loud roar of agitation!
ROARRRR!
All this while, Megumi had just been standing on top of the hill and waiting for the monster to arrive! She didn't show any emotion at all, even when the monster seemed to want to tear her to pieces! And once the monster rose from the water with a roar that threatened to deafen anyone nearby, Megumi suddenly moved!
BOOM!
Megumi absolutely destroyed the hill under her feet with her very first movement! She brought her sword forward as she flew straight at the monster, and in the next moment, she sent a slash straight for the monster's large fin. The monster brought up its tail and used it as a shield to block the slash!
The stingray was shocked by the speed that Megumi used to move, and it couldn't even bring up a proper defense! Megumi's sword flashed straight through the tail before tearing a gaping hole in the fin, and the stingray roared in agitation as its black blood spilled out from its wound and stained the sea under it!
Megumi ignored the monster's cries as she used the tip of her feet to touch the water before suddenly flashing backward towards the monster again!

Four slashes echoed through the region so quickly that it was almost like they happened at the exact same time! Anyone below EPIC rank who was present at the fight wouldn't have even been able to see the difference between when Megumi made the first slash and when she sent the last one! Megumi appeared on the destroyed hill in front of the monster, and she flicked her sword to the side once to clean the blood before she clicked her sword into the scabbard at her hip. The monster behind her slowly started to divide down its middle into four pieces that fell into the ocean in a heap of black blood and gore.
