Chapter 703 The Problem with Japan
Chapter 703 The Problem with Japan
With the MDS, the Vanguard guild brought in nothing less than five hundred million dollars monthly! That was more revenue than most of the Fortune Five Hundred companies in America! And with the amount of tax cuts that the Vanguard guild were getting due to the business model that Mark was using and the fact that they had registered all MDS revenue as guild-based income, they were not going to be needing any form of monetary support from any country at all!
One time, Pat joked that they could drop everything and become a big Fortune Five Hundred that ran the MDS alone. Mark couldn't even say anything against it! They were making way too much money!
That was the reason why Mark didn't feel any doubt at all once Pat brought him this information. Mark knew that the MDS did not make mistakes when it came to detecting mana signatures, so he knew he could trust this.
But there was just one problem.
"How are things looking with Japan? Are they still being difficult about our guild?"
Luna spoke to Pat with a small frown on her face, and Mark immediately knew the answer to her question when Pat frowned in irritation and sighed tiredly.
Everyone in the room gained tired expressions on their faces once Japan was mentioned, and the Chinese man who hadn't said anything since the meeting began clicked his tongue in irritation once he heard the country's name. Mark knew that if not for the fact that the man was more civilized, he would have spat out in his irritation! Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
Luna sighed and held her hand up to her head to massage her temple.
"What does it take for them to realize that we aren't after their resources? We just want to help them."
Japan had been a thorn in the side of the Vanguard guild for a very long time now. Five months ago, when the guild was first created and presented to the public, many countries immediately opened their doors to them and allowed Mark and his guild members free passage into their countries! The countries even thanked Mark and the rest of the Vanguard guild whenever they came around to help out in subjugation, and the countries didn't try to stop their guilds from becoming affiliates of the Vanguard guild because the countries knew that they would still be getting their taxes from the guilds.
She was someone blessed by the God of War, Ares, and she had a similar ability to Mark. Megumi could grow stronger the more enemies she fought against and killed on the battlefield. With her many years of experience, Megumi was now seen as the strongest woman in the world, and there were many debates online about whether or not she was powerful enough to stand up against Mark as the strongest. Most people did not believe she could do it since she had never defeated an Armageddon-class like GHOST, but many others said that the only reason she hadn't done that was because no Armageddon class had shown up in Japan.
They were sure that if one showed up, she would be able to defeat it.
Japan was very confident in Megumi's ability to defeat any monster that showed up in their country, and that was one of the main reasons why they were preventing the Vanguard guild from being able to enter their country at all.
Mark was irritated by both Germany and Russia, but he understood that those two countries were ruled by dictators, so they didn't have any choice in the matter. But Japan was the most irritating because not only the leaders, but even the citizens didn't like the Vanguard guild! Japan was a democracy, but even if the choice was put up for a vote, Mark was sure the Vanguard guild would still lose badly!
Mark decided that he wouldn't bother himself with Japan anymore. If they didn't want his help, then there was nothing that he could do about it. But there was something that came to mind once Mark thought about Japan. Mark remembered a long time ago when he was fighting against the Superhuman Killer in City A. The killer said something about an organization called S, which was based in Japan.
Mark frowned as this thought crossed his mind. It had been so long ago that Mark actually forgot about it after everything that happened, but now that it came back, Mark couldn't just overlook it. There was a very high chance of S being the Syndicate. The Killer also said that Salazar was involved with S, and as far as Mark knew, the only organization that Salazar was involved with was the Syndicate.
The current situation was starting to change Mark's opinion. If they wanted to find out what was really going on, they were going to have to get into Japan.
Grace spoke up with a frown.
"We sent out a warning to the Japanese government and another request for entry, but they turned it down immediately we sent it. I don't think they even read what we send anymore. It's like once they see that it was from the Vanguard guild, they just turn it down immediately. I think it'll be better for you to talk to the Superhuman Alliance and have them set up a meeting. They're the only ones that the Japanese listen to."
Mark could see the sense in that.
