Matilda had finally finished calling out the names of all the organizations and receiving donations, and she cleared her throat with a smile as she spoke up again.

"And now we would like to call on the man of the hour himself to give us a few words. Everyone, please welcome, the God Killer, Mark Vanitas."

But no one there could deny the sheer tension that had filled the room just from Mark's words. Mark's gaze and confidence gave them all a sense of foreboding as they realized that Mark wasn't just saying this as a joke. Mark was dead serious.

But it was Mark's next words that really put some fear into their hearts. Mark's eyes narrowed and he spoke in a low growl.

"We are at war whether we like it or not. The anima are not going to stop, they'll be back, and this time, they'll come back with more numbers than we have ever seen. They'll stop at nothing to eradicate humanity from the face of the earth, and it's up to us, the superhumans, the blessed, to stop them.

"And that is why I am calling out now to every single superhuman out there in the world. We are the last line of defense that this world has, and it is necessary for us to band together for the fight that is coming. The Vanguard guild is going to be the shield for this world, and it would be our honor if you would agree to fight alongside us. And for the countries that need our help, no matter where you are, no matter what sort of beast threatens you, reach out to us and ask for our help. The Vanguard guild will not turn you away. I swear it on my honor. Thank you."

A resounding round of applause echoed through the room as Mark started to dismount from the podium! Everyone was shocked by Mark's speech as well as the declarations that he made at the end of it—they all thought that Mark would go up there and just give a light speech about them needing to help each other out or something, but instead, Mark went up there and declared that there was a war coming and he was going to be the shield that the world needed! It was extremely inspiring, and even though many of them didn't understand anything about what Mark was saying, they could feel his resolve and determination through his words!

But although the civilians and regular superhumans were excited, the government officials and executives were sweating bullets as they glanced at each other nervously! What Mark just said was like a knife in their liver as they realized what Mark meant by his last declaration! Mark intended to travel the world! He was going to leave America and go to other parts of the world to help them!

That was the worst news any government official wanted to hear! Mark was currently the strongest superhuman in the world and his mere presence in America boosted their military power to the very top of the world immediately! Him leaving America would reduce their military power by a lot, and other countries would start to look down on them more because Mark wasn't always going to be there!

Milicent, the president, looked toward George, the Vice-chairman of the Superhuman Alliance, with a look of concern, and George shrugged. He had no idea that Mark was going to make a declaration like that, so what was he supposed to do about that!?
