Greg couldn't believe that Mark was able to get both these women to be his girlfriends! It was already unfair enough that Mark had a high school girlfriend with a face and body that could rival any model out there, but now he had an older girlfriend who had the face of a goddess! No man would see something like this and not feel some sort of envy!
Greg and his wife exchanged pleasantries with Mark and the girls, and in the middle of this, Greg's eyes went up towards Mark's forehead, and Greg raised a curious brow as he saw the black ink that had etched itself into Mark's forehead. Was that a tattoo? Why in the world would Mark get a face tattoo? Was it some sort of statement?
No, Greg didn't think that Mark would try to make a statement like that. It wasn't like Mark to try to gain attention by putting a tattoo in the middle of his forehead. So that only meant that it was something related to his blessing! Greg was obviously curious, and a part of him wanted to ask what the tattoo was all about, but Greg knew that it would be too invasive to ask something like that! Mark was kind enough to invite him to join his table, and Greg had no intention of making this awkward by bringing up something that Mark might not want to talk about. Instead, Greg decided to ignore it.
Mark introduced Luna as his girlfriend, and since Greg and his wife already knew about it from all the news channels that were reporting about it, they were able to accept the announcement easily. Besides, they knew that there was nothing that they could say about it because they had no business talking to the strongest superhuman in the world about his life choices! If Mark wanted a hundred girlfriends like Gunter, then he could very well have them!
Mark turned to the table and saw that Talia and James were playing with some Pokémon cards, and he called on one of the suit-wearing ushers around to make their table bigger! The usher wasted no time and immediately ordered some men to bring a bigger table and more chairs so that Greg and his family could join them at Mark's table!
Greg was surprised by the gesture and he told Mark that it wasn't necessary, but Mark just waved him off and said that friends are meant to be together on occasions like these! Talia and James were having a lot of fun together, so it would be unfair to separate them when they could be together easily!@@@@
A calm voice came from the stage and drew everyone's attention as the lights over the stage turned on to reveal a pair of superhumans standing there. One of them was a popular A-rank superhuman named Nolan, who was always appearing in TV shows and movies because of how handsome he was, and the other one was Matilda. Mark was shocked to see her up there, and she gave Mark a smile when she saw the surprise on his face.
Matilda wore a long white gown that matched well with the white suit of her fellow host, and she stayed back and kept a kind smile on her face as the man continued talking.
"We wish to first extend our most heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules and lives to make sure they attended this event. We know that we all lost something in the battle that just concluded, and it is only due to the hard work of those present here, as well as those who couldn't be with us today, that the country still stands. The fact that you are all willing to continue your acts of generosity by being here today speaks volumes of your kindness. The country thanks you."
Both Nolan and Matilda bowed to the crowd in gratitude, and the crowd gave a light round of applause for each other as they accepted the praise. Once the applause calmed down, Nolan raised his hand toward Mark's table and spoke up with even more enthusiasm.
"And we would like to give an even larger heartfelt thanks to the man who appeared when the country needed him most. The man who took down the greatest monster to have terrorized us since the Armageddon. The GOD KILLER himself, Mark Vanitas."
Clap! Clap! Clap!
An even louder round of applause rang out from the crowd as they appreciated Mark, and Mark just stayed calm and ignored them. Mark knew exactly what the host was doing by pointing him out. This was a memorial service, but it was also a charity event that would lead to people bringing out money, so it was obvious that they were trying to butter him up.
