Chapter 670 The Memorial Service
Chapter 670 The Memorial Service
"But I was only able to stay in the bird's mind for three minutes."
Mark frowned as this thought crossed his mind! After all the training and meditating for the past few hours, Mark wasn't able to stay in the mind of any one bird for more than three minutes before he was forcefully thrown out. And not only could he not stay in the bird's mind for more than three minutes, but the moment he tried to leave the bird's mind and go into the mind of another bird, he wouldn't even be able to stay there for thirty seconds before he felt that splitting headache trying to crack his head open!
Mark sighed in irritation as he slowly shook Raven awake! Raven mumbled something incoherent, and Mark scoffed in amusement as he saw a line of drool falling from the side of her mouth. Her eyes slowly blinked open, and she furrowed her brow in confusion, and it didn't take her long to realize where she was!
Raven shot up from the ground like a rocket as she stumbled back in embarrassment, and Mark laughed as he also slowly stood up and stretched to relax his muscles. Mark put his hands on his waist and grinned at Raven.
"Hope you enjoyed yourself."
Raven's blush deepened even more, and her eyes trailed from Mark to the stain on his shoulder that showed that she had been drooling! Her face was burning so much that she felt like she was about to faint, and she covered it up with her hands and spoke up in a voice that showed just how embarrassed she was.
"I'm really sorry. I'll wash it for you."
Mark just laughed again and told her that it was fine, but Raven insisted that it wasn't fine!
"I just wanted to meditate as well. I didn't think I'd fall asleep like that!"
Raven was surprised when she heard that Mark had gotten himself an older woman as a girlfriend, and a small part of Raven that she had been ignoring all this while wondered why Mark hadn't chosen her instead. It was a silly thought, and once Raven had it, she dismissed it as nonsense! But Raven still couldn't help but wonder—Mark and her had spent a lot of time together in this gym! They'd fought against each other, supported each other, and seen each other in various states of undress, and Mark never even made a single advance toward her! If Mark liked older women, then shouldn't he have tried coming onto her at least once?
A sad look filtered across Raven's face before she quickly got rid of it! Raven wasn't the type to dwell on such nonsense, so she wasn't going to allow this to affect her at all. And besides, after Raven found out who it was that Mark had gotten as a girlfriend, Raven didn't even have any points to use as an argument anymore! Raven didn't see any scenario where any man would choose another woman over Luna of the Moonlight Guild! Raven looked down at Mark's shirt in her hands and her brow rose before she hummed.
She looked around the gym pointlessly to make sure that there was no one there to see her before she brought it up to her nose and took in a deep breath.
Raven sighed.
"That's nice."

[America. The Day of The Memorial Service and Charity Event.]
[The memorial service for the deceased superhumans as well as the ceremony to celebrate those who risked their lives and safety to ensure that the citizens of America were able to see the next day is scheduled to be held tonight. All superhumans that were present and active during the Armageddon attack have stated that they will be present during the memorial service, and the government has declared that all proceeds and donations from this service will be used to support and promote the lives of those who have suffered great losses during this crisis. This is May Baker reporting live from the Lincoln Center in Alpha City, one of the only remaining monuments that went untouched by the anima attacks that rampaged the country.]
The entire country was tuned in as they listened to the beautiful reporter reporting live from the Lincoln Center. Many of the people who had tuned in were watching the program because it was the most interesting thing happening in the country at that time, but for most of them, they weren't interested in anything that would happen in the memorial. Instead, they were more interested in catching a glimpse of the one man who had made the difference in the war.
