Chapter 603 This Is Titus
Chapter 603 This Is Titus
What Mark had given the angel servants was a chance for them to survive, and they all saw it as the mercy that it was. They knew that with the kind of power Mark had shown, he was more than capable of killing all of them if he wanted to and they also knew that if Mark felt like he had to kill them, he was heartless enough to do it. So the female soldier didn't waste any time as she quickly started to round up the servants and guided them all to the dungeons.
The dungeon was a dark, dreary place with no prisoners in it. It was obvious that the angels hadn't held any hostages there for a long time. Mark forced the angels into the cells, which were made from the same strong metal the castle gates had been crafted from, and then he left after making sure they wouldn't be able to get out.@@@@
Mark made his way back to the ballroom and then up the stairs leading to the castle tower. As Mark climbed the steps, he slowly started to feel an oppressive force bearing down on him from above. It was as if someone were trying to assert their dominance over him using their aura alone, and Mark instinctively knew that this was the Titus that the female angel had spoken about. A small grin spread on Mark's face as he realized that this Titus was leaps and bounds above the other soldiers in the tower. In fact, he was far stronger than those two S-tier angels that Mark had fought against at the outpost. This was a true PHANTASMAL rank being, someone that could actually put up a fight against Mark.
Mark's aura also flared to life around him as he exerted his own dominance, and he was able to push back Titus' aura and continue up unhindered.
Mark finally made it to the top of the spiraling stairway and walked into the long hallway, where a row of windows on Mark's right showed the dark clouds passing outside. A streak of lightning illuminated the hallway for a moment, highlighting the man standing on the other end of the hall. He was tall, and broad, and just from his stance alone, Mark knew that he was skilled.
The man held a spear in his right hand and had a sword tied to a strap on his left hip. He had blond hair and blue eyes that would have made him look handsome if not for the enraged frown that had twisted his face into something outrageous.
This was Titus.
Bzzt~!
Rumble!!
Mark took in a deep breath and sighed as another flash of lightning lit up the hallway before a massive thunder echoed across the region! The two of them stayed in place like this, just watching each other for a few seconds, but then, they moved!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Mark shot forward again, and Titus immediately threw the spear in his hand toward him to try and catch Mark in the air, but Mark easily slapped the spear away. Titus put his hand up and activated a light spell that lit up the corridor like the sun! Mark cursed internally and immediately moved to the side just as a massive sword slashed across where he had once been! This bastard tried to stab me when I couldn't see him!
That stupid smile tried to come back again, but Mark squashed it and shot toward Titus! The both of them met in the center of the hallway and lashed out with a flurry of attacks toward each other!
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
Titus's swordplay was magnificent as he danced around Mark, striking at weak spots and blind zones with such ferocity and speed that most Eldritch-class animas would have been eviscerated in the tornado of strikes. But not Mark! Mark met Titus blow for blow, striking out with his own attacks while also defending against the sword, using the back of his gauntlets to redirect or stop the blade! Titus' other hand was now free, so whenever he was attacking with his blade, he would also add a light spell at random intervals to try and throw Mark off balance.
But after some time, Titus realized that the spells were useless and that Mark was not going to be taken down by them. For some reason, Mark was immune to light spells, and the only thing that the spells did was to take away Mark's visibility for a moment. But with how fast Mark was, it was almost a useless advantage, as Mark was able to move out of the way of any attack even with his limited visibility!
