Chapter 541: The Last Stand
Chapter 541: The Last Stand
"Mark, what are you going to do about Fiona? Do you think there’s a way to get her out of the crystal? If she’s unconscious, then we might be able to get her out before we kill the monster."
Luna looked worried as she asked this, and it was obvious that she also wanted to find a way to save Fiona and separate her from the monster. Luna had heard about the fight Fiona had against Gunter from Tylor’s reports and Luna knew that it was after that fight that Gunter had taken Fiona. Having to kill Fiona after she went through all that just didn’t sit right with Luna.
But Mark just shook his head as he stepped forward. Saving Fiona wasn’t possible. Loki made sure of that.
Right then and there, Mark swore that he was going to get even more powerful—so powerful that the gods would be looking up at him in awe and surprise. And when he got all that power, Mark would go hunting for Loki. He would chase that bastard down to the edge of the universe and kill him if it was the last thing he did.
"Let’s finish this."
Luna was shocked when Mark said this before he started walking forward. Mark was really just going to kill Fiona like that? Luna called out to Mark and asked him what was going on.
"Are you really going to kill her? I’m sure there’s a way to separate her from the monster. I’m sure we can find a way."
Mark shook his head as he gave Luna a look. Mark couldn’t explain everything that had happened in the realm of the gods and in the ALTERWORLD to Luna since they didn’t have time right now. Luna wouldn’t understand that they couldn’t save Fiona, even if they wanted to. Right now, Fiona was the Armageddon itself, and the Armageddon was Fiona.
The deal that Mark made with Loki was to destroy the Armageddon and that meant killing them both.
Mark wanted to change the deal if he could, but Mark knew that Loki would never agree to it. And even if Mark decided to just not kill Fiona, Sozin was going to make sure Mark didn’t lose. Fiona wouldn’t be happy with getting erased from reality and everyone’s memory. It would be a lot worse than just dying.
"I’ll need you on support again, Luna. I’m moving in quicker this time before the monster gains back its ability to use mana. Ida and Alpha Two, you guys will be the main support. Alpha Two attacks with me, and Ida provides support for him. Alec, make sure none of the other monsters around interfere. Some of the anima already made it here from City G.
They’ll swarm around the Armageddon and protect it if we aren’t careful."
Mark put his hand up to the comms and gave out orders, and he got confirmations from the others as they accepted it. They hadn’t heard anything about Fiona being in the Armageddon, so they didn’t have any objections to ending this as quickly as possible. Mark told Luna to go ahead, and Luna sighed as she knew that Mark didn’t want to talk about this anymore.
The Armageddon tried desperately to get rid of the sword embedded in its nape, and its desperation prevented it from reacting as a long chain suddenly wrapped around its neck and propelled Mark forward like a bullet!

Mark landed a double kick right on the monster’s face, and the monster was sent reeling back from the hit! It tried to grab Mark, but Mark easily used its own momentum against it, swinging around so that he was now pulling from behind the Armageddon and dragging the monster down with all his strength!
The intense pull, added to the monster’s lack of balance, caused it to lose its footing, and it plummeted backward to the ground.

Mark ignored the system notification as he called out to Ida, telling her to pin the monster down, and the gravity on the monster’s limbs suddenly increased tenfold, forcing it to remain in a spread-eagle position and leaving its crystal unprotected! Mark stood on top of a building, looking down at the monster as it struggled to get up.
From how its hands were already starting to move, Mark knew that it was only a matter of time before it managed to get out of Ida’s control, so Mark didn’t waste any time once Ida pinned it down.
Mark leaped off the building and fell through the sky towards the monster, and just before his descent ended, a platform appeared under his feet, angled in a way that gave him a direct path to the crystal and Mark used the platform to launch himself forward!
