Chapter 525 And Why Aren't You Out There?

Mark wondered just how powerful the military head of the German forces would be. Do they have a PHANTASMAL in the German forces already? Maybe they do. Mark didn't follow German news or politics at all, so he had no idea what was happening on that side of the world, but with how powerful Ida was, Mark wouldn't be surprised if they already had a PHANTASMAL in their ranks.

Mark didn't say anything to the woman, and he was about to walk past her towards the aircraft waiting for him, but another voice spoke up.

"Mark Vanitas. I'm glad to see that you're still alive. I was wondering what happened when I didn't hear anything about you from my subordinates."

Henry Ford.

Mark's hand tightened into fists when he heard that voice, and his pressure immediately poured out from him in waves!

Everyone at the military base was on guard once they felt this, and the regular humans there all fell to their knees as they couldn't withstand the intensity of Mark's power! The woman who had been talking to Mark took a step back as her eyes widened in shock, and there was a strange smile that slowly spread across her lips as she saw Mark in a new light.

Mark turned and glared at Henry Ford angrily before he started to walk towards him. The sudden burst of anger was so intense that even Henry couldn't help but take a single step back in surprise.

Mark already heard everything that happened in his absence from Pat. About how the Superhuman Alliance orchestrated the entire plan involving Arit's father just so that they could arrest him and Arit. This bastard was the reason why he was separated from Arit! This bastard was the reason why Salazar's plan went through without any issues!

If they had just stayed out of his fucking business, then none of this would have happened!

Henry Ford managed to stand his ground as Mark walked up to him, but there was a very clear strain in his body that he was trying desperately to hide. Mark stopped in front of Henry and stared him down.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now, you fucking coward."

Mark grit his teeth as something halted his train of thought. Most of the largest businesses in the country were located in City H and the cities around it. Even Mark's company, the Vanitas Motors building, was located in City H as well. And all these cities were in the northern part of the continent.

Mark felt anger surge through him as he realized that Henry was once more just looking out for the government's personal interests.

Henry was most likely trying his best to protect the investments that the government had in those high-level companies. He didn't care if the other buildings and businesses in the southern part of the country were destroyed.

The buildings on the northern part of the continent were what made the country run, but the buildings on the southern part of the country were what the regular citizens lived off. It was a difficult choice to make. But that does not mean you get to choose what gets destroyed based on your selfish desires.

Mark tossed Henry like trash, and Henry landed roughly on the ground before he picked himself up and dusted himself off. Mark glared at him for a second and turned to leave, but Henry spoke up before Mark could go.

"I didn't say that just to protect the interests of a few, Mark Vanitas. Those companies there, they run this country. Everything that you see thriving in this country would be meaningless without them moving things in the background. Even your company is a part of that ecosystem.

If you allow the monsters to destroy what has been built there and level it to the ground, it will take at least three times as long to rebuild the rest of America. I'm not asking you to kill anyone for our cause, Mark. I'm asking you to do what is sensible. Lead the monster to the right place, and the government will grant you and your girlfriend a pardon. Because what you both did was a crime.

Regardless of how angry you are about it. It doesn't change the fact that it is a crime."

Mark just stared at Henry with a hard glare before he asked the one question that had been on the mind of every soldier there since they first saw Henry Ford land at this military base.
