Chapter 266 [The high demon, Leydig!]

Chapter 266 [The high demon, Leydig!]

Leydig is one of the demons with the higher Authority Rank among the demons. He has enough power to fight against dozens of angels and even minor Gods despite his reduced power in the mortal realm. Within the Inverse Realm, he can even go against one of the 7 Higher Gods like Alepsia and such if he uses 100% of his power.

Though for now, he was just here on a mission to capture the Angel that fell from heaven. Or at least that's what he was trying to do till yesterday....

...

"I may have done a few things wrong, or 'demonic' as you humans say. But trust me, there is nothing more evil than a human with near infinite power," — Leydig

...

[Leydig's POV]

Standing at the top of this 'extraordinarily lavish' facility, I looked down at the crowds of humans, demons and demis walking around. Each more vicious than the others, each more disgusting than the rest.

'At least the demons have a code of evil. The others are simply vile creatures,' I looked at them with disgust. My eyes narrowed at a few of them as I saw the amount of 'good deeds' and 'bad deeds' they have done in their life.

And I wondered if they were originally demons who have reincarnated as humans here?

Still.

"It helps us mix with them without causing any confusion," I mumble as I observe for any signs of that fallen Angel, whom I have come to seek, but then again I stopped as plans have changed now.

My eyes slowly shift at the 'sky' of this underground base settlement. Though I faced the roof of this place, I was essentially looking at the situation above it, at the grounds at which the Angels and Minor Gods walked.

The traces of minor Gods were few and scattered but... the angels...

'There are far too many of them,' I analyzed as I kept sensing devinity being spread throughout the city, barely leaving any corners. Though for some reason, that seething devinity was limited at it's place, as if restricted within the body of those angels.

"They must have been ordered not to use devinity recklessly on the mortal realm," I concluded.

She came yesterday out of nowhere, killed all the women and men around me and then gave the orders without any explanation. If not for noticing her real identity, I too might have jumped to kill her with my life on the line.

'I wonder if this is what my life would amount to?' I questioned myself before looking at the Hell's Guardian in the Inspector's avatar.

But then again, it was an honour.

It was regrettable that I won't be able to fulfill all my promises to my clan, my elders, and my family. But I believe, they too would understand, if they were to know about the situation I was in. And the decisions that I had to make.

"Seems like it won't be progressing anywhere with this speed," she mumbled before she looked down at all the demons and the humans. And then she looked at the top, at the angels and the gods.

A small smile escaped from the corner of her lips before she spoke,

"Send all the demons to mix with the humans and angels. If what he told me was right, then we might be able to see something very interesting soon."

But they all will die.

Is what I was supposed to say.

"As you wish, your highness," I answered her command.

Perhaps it is really the end for me. And those who happen to have the ill fate of being in this place right now.

I pity them... and I pity myself.

And I wonder... is there any hope for us to survive this madness that the Hell Guardian is going to push us through?

'Perhaps I should have been a little less greedy as well,' I thought before moving to command the demons that were walking in the market.

A sad sigh escaped as my heavy steps reached them. And still I hoped... for a miracle that would save us here... from this unnecessary death that we were about to receive...
