My Perfect Female CEO

Chapter 1414: Happiness

Chapter 1414: Happiness

Reporter Chen spoke calmly about her past, filled only with self-reproach, without any hint of blaming destiny or others. While tracking the news about Wang Qiang, a collision occurred with other vehicles. It was her fault, leading to the predicament she was in, so she couldn’t blame anyone else.

If she had to blame someone, it would be her own doing, that’s for sure.

Instead, she was the one who violated the rules, crashing into unrelated vehicles and causing significant trouble for others.

"Chu Biyao, you’re also a popular celebrity, you know how much people like us are hated." Reporter Chen looked at Chu Biyao, mocking herself, "Honestly, I’ve spoken a lot of bad things about you in the past. If you dined with a stranger man, it was a filthy date; dining with a woman, I would insinuate it was a lesbian suspicion; dining with a wealthy man naturally led to suspicions of being kept. See, in the past, I was such a hateful person, someone people gritted their teeth at."

"The past is the past. Now, both your mindset and attitude towards life are different from before. There’s no need to bring up past matters anymore," Chu Biyao comforted.

"Thank you for your generosity. After my accident, I realized that in pursuit of money and fame, I’ve done many things that anger people. My current situation is just karma, not anyone’s fault, and I don’t have the right to blame others," Reporter Chen said seriously. "After understanding this, I sent apologies to those I had insulted. Maybe you didn’t receive it, since such a small matter, you probably wouldn’t care."

Chu Biyao remained silent, unaware of this matter. As an artist, losing one critic would still leave many others.

In reality, many people make a living by fabricating stories about the private lives of celebrities, something quite common.

"Judging what’s karma is something you imposed on yourself. We don’t have the right to intervene too much, nor the qualification for making judgments," Ye Fan said calmly. "But, since you understand this truth, why does your uncle still hold resentment towards Wang Qiang? Even to the point of foolishly trying to harm him?"

"When I was in middle school, my parents had a car accident, and I was raised by my uncle. Honestly, my uncle was both a father and a mother to me, willing to sacrifice financially to fulfill my every request, even saving money for luxury items while starving himself. I understood this a bit late and didn’t cherish this family bond and care until my accident, realizing my foolishness deeply," Reporter Chen said wistfully. "Maybe lacking complete parental love has left me with some psychological shortcomings, causing me to overlook the person who cared and loved me the most, right by my side."

She said remorsefully, "I only regret that I matured too late, missing so many days to be filial to my uncle, only coming to understand after the accident. I realized my uncle’s painstaking effort and finally wise up."

"Maybe my uncle still blames Wang Qiang, placing my misfortune on Wang Qiang, compounded by the fact that I can’t live freely like before, so my uncle quietly resents Wang Qiang and seized the opportunity to act against him. I didn’t expect that,"

Reporter Chen realized the reason behind her uncle trying to harm Wang Qiang, all because she couldn’t help her uncle resolve this grudge.

"You understand things clearly and have been through great trials; persuading your uncle should be your task," Ye Fan said sympathetically. "We concealed this matter because we saw that your uncle is a good person and don’t want to escalate the situation or pursue any responsibility against him."

"Master Wu doesn’t leave you and treats you as his own, giving you plenty of love and care. This bond and affection are rare qualities in today’s society. I hope you persuade your uncle not to act out again. Otherwise, harming others will harm oneself, and by then, you’ll have nowhere to regret," Chu Biyao advised.

"Thank you, thank you both." Reporter Chen expressed with tears of gratitude: "I’ll definitely explain this to my uncle and ensure such incidents never happen again."

Finally, she asked with concern, "Is Wang Qiang okay?"

"Fortunately, he was just a bit frightened and didn’t end up in a situation beyond control. Otherwise, suppressing the matter would’ve been impossible," Chu Biyao explained.

"No more problems. Go out for walks; life outside is still good. Don’t stay home all the time; maybe you’ll find your own place. With prosthetics, you’re just like any other person, though some may laugh, others won’t. Don’t close off because of some people," Ye Fan comforted.

"Thank you," Reporter Chen said sincerely.

She appreciated the kindness from Ye Fan and Chu Biyao. Her mental fortitude was strong, but for certain reasons, she felt inferior, confronting her insecurity, thinking she’s not good enough, choosing to avoid it.

After the incident with her uncle trying to harm someone, she no longer closed herself off, determined to live like an open and normal person, never being passive again, and wouldn’t let her uncle worry about her matters anymore.

Ye Fan and Chu Biyao left.

That night, when Beast Tamer Master Wu returned home, Reporter Chen prepared food and brewed her uncle’s favorite tea.

This scene was the most heartwarming for the two who relied on each other.

"Uncle, I’ve decided to go out more; maybe I’ll find someone who loves me," Reporter Chen said with a smile.

"That’s the right mindset. No matter how much I persuaded you before, you refused to go out more, preferring to stay home," Master Wu didn’t think much, assuming his niece had finally come around.

"Uncle, for me, you’ve postponed your life-long matters, which is my fault; in the future, not only do I need to seek happiness, but Uncle should also find your own happiness," Reporter Chen said sincerely.

Master Wu finally sensed something was amiss and asked with confusion, "What’s wrong?"

"Nothing, during the day, Ye Fan and Chu Biyao visited, telling me about Uncle’s foolish actions. The lions, usually tame, suddenly got angry, almost hurting Wang Qiang. This matter is over, Uncle shouldn’t think about it anymore. From now on, I won’t allow Uncle to do such foolish things again. I only have you as my family member, so I can’t lose you," Reporter Chen said, tears in her eyes.

"What?" Master Wu was shocked and then eagerly asked, "How did they know?"

He looked anxious and uneasy, not understanding how outsiders discovered this secret.

Did someone notice his actions?

Impossible, it shouldn’t be.

Master Wu couldn’t figure this out but chose not to argue or hide the truth from Reporter Chen, since there was no point anymore—others already knew, so why conceal?

"I can tell, Mr. Ye is mysterious and has great abilities," Reporter Chen said.

"Yes, although I don’t understand how he confirmed I had a problem, but just by sending the lion flying with one slap, he’s an incredibly powerful figure," Master Wu said.

"Slapped the lion flying? What slap? His hand?" Now it was Reporter Chen’s turn to be dumbfounded.

"It was that kind of slap," Master Wu gestured his hand, speaking with amazement.

"Is that true? Uncle, you’re not lying to me, right?" Reporter Chen found it unbelievable.

"The entire filming crew witnessed it; how could it be fake?" Master Wu said, "That slap saved me."

"Not only saved you but also saved our family," Reporter Chen said. "The only ones aware of the lion’s anger, aside from Ye Fan and Chu Biyao, are the four of us. Let this matter rest."

"No, it can’t rest; although the matter is over, my heart can’t let go. If I don’t reveal this to Wang Qiang, I’ll be plagued with guilt for the rest of my life," Master Wu stated firmly.

"I’ll accompany Uncle to apologize, to find Wang Qiang, and clarify everything," Reporter Chen said.

"Good!" Master Wu shed tears of joy and relief.
