Chapter 62 Reinforcements I
Reinforcements I
The moment the duo laid eyes on the core, they felt as if their very existences were being encroached by a stifling emptiness. Though that was only an Illusion.
The two of them were about to get swarmed, and to Felicia, time slowed down as her brain ran at maximum capacity.
In an instant, numerous calculations and predictions were made. And at the end of it all, she exhaled.
"Han." She called out lightly and her brother nodded.
He snapped his fingers and all of a sudden, the air became so dense that it became solid. But he didn't stop there.
His Mana became rampant as the air the two of them began to hum and shimmer. And then it began to vibrate with such speed that it seemed to blur, and due to this vibration, the Void Reavers tentacles actually dispersed on impact.
Bits of the shield were deleted at the same time, but as it was vibrating, the tentacles couldn't find good purchase and the frequency caused them to destabilise and scatter apart.
As such, the terrible creature was being held at bay, for now.
Despite the ingenious idea behind the barrier, it wasn't going to last long. Just a few seconds at most. But that was more than enough for Felicia.
With her clones drawing away some of the attention of the Void Reaver and Han holding back its attacks with his shield, a clear opening appeared. It was small, but it was there. And she took it.
Every muscle in her body tensed and she leaned forward, body taut like a bowstring, and then she shot forward.
She moved like a flash, weaving between the remaining tentacles that instantly locked onto her.
They surged forth with even more intensity than before, but with their lower numbers, Felicia found it far easier to avoid them than before.
She ducked, weaved, jumped, rolled, and performed a myriad of other maneuvers close to the empty core.
The Void Reaver finally seemed to realise just how dangerous the situation was and instantly recalled its tentacles to swarm Felicia, leaving Han who was barely holding on.
However, at that point, Felicia was already too close, and the Void Reaver tried to use its remaining tentacles to shield the core, but Felicia was faster.
An interesting thing about illusions was that, depending on just how well one understood their surroundings and what they were creating an Illusion of, the illusions could be a lot more realistic than most would imagine. So realistic in fact, that they could take on more traits besides simply deceiving one's senses.
In other words, the Illusions could become reality.
With a light shout, Felicia created an Illusion where the distance between herself and the core had shrunk significantly, and that's exactly what happened.
She'd been a few dozen meters away, but now she was almost right in front of it. She hadn't done this before because her intuition and the info she got from her eye told her that doing so Would not allow her to get past the tentacles if they were in her path. So she'd just run into them and get deleted.
Still, it didn't matter now.
She infused her Rapier with as much Mana as she could before the tentacles could close in on her and with a yell, she stabbed the exposed core viciously.
The instant she did, a deafening silence followed as the Void Reaver froze, its massive body shuddering violently. The Empty core pulsed once, twice, then imploded, collapsing in on itself with a soundless tremor.
At that moment though, space suddenly twisted between the creature and Felicia, folded, and collapsed in on itself into a singularity, spawning a black hole.
Han yelled as he poured his Mana into the attack while making sure his siblings weren't affected.
Then he made the air around them denser and had it explode, shooting them away as the black hole immediately started to run rampant.
The hall was shredded and pulled into the small yet deadly attack as many things were spaghettified and pulled past its event horizon.
The hall that had already been struggling from the attacks of the Void Reaver finally couldn't handle it anymore, and that portion of the castle collapsed.
From the outside, a large portion of the castle could be seen shattering and falling down. But not all of it as a large portion seemed to be suspended by something before getting sucked in as the black hole still did its thing.
And yet despite that, the creature was only halted for a moment and stared at the Black hole. And then it waved its hand.
A moment later, the black hole shuddered before completely vanishing out of existence.
"Okay what the actual fu-" Han wasn't able to finish his sentence as once more, the Void creature suddenly appeared near them once more and attacked.
Felicia gritted her teeth and forced her eye to activate once more, ignoring the stabbing pain in her brain as she desperately looked for any way out of this situation. But to her despair, there was none.
This monster had them totally beat and outmatched. There simply wasn't anything they could do.
Even then, Felicia didn't want to fall like that, and she could tell her siblings were the same, and was sure that if Titus was conscious, he'd be the same as well.
Curtis pulled his Mana-less body and prepared to throw himself at the creature and Han prepared to unleash an onslaught of attacks while Felicia was about to make her illusions go rampant. This would be their last stand. However...
CLANG
Right before the creature's attack could land on any of them, a blood red short sword appeared out of thin air and fully blocked the attack.
And amazingly, it wasn't deleted out of existence nor did it show signs of doing so. And afterwards, there was a melodious voice.
"This is quite the situation, no wonder master wanted me to come here." A moment later, a figure clad in a blood red battle dress wielding two short swords, one of which was blocking the hand of the creature, stepped out of a portal that had manifested.
Immediately she appeared, Felicia's eyes widened.
'What... is this Mana?!' She exclaimed in her mind. With her incredible Mana proficiency, she was able to immediately tell just how immaculately pure this Mana was. So pure that it was actually able to resist the emptiness the creature embodied.
It wasn't just her staring though as Han and Curtis were also looking with stunned expressions. They had never expected such a situation to occur and thought they were gonna die. But who would have thought this stranger would have appeared?
Meanwhile, Belladonna didn't pay their stares any attention and instead focused on the Void creature.
'So this is one of the Void Creature's that guy was talking about huh? Interesting. Its very presence is slowly erasing the surrounding Reality. How peculiar.' As she had this thought, the creature suddenly moved and swung its other hand, but Belladonna was faster.
The Vermillion Reapers glowed and in an instant, dozens of long blood needles pierced through the thing's body and halted it in place. Then bright red flames covered one of the blades while terrifying frost covered the other, and in the center of her chest where a blood red crystal wa embedded in her armour, a light shone from that crystal and a wave of red light spread over the entire Palace and everything in its vicinity felt as though a crushing wright had descended on them. Like their blood had slowed down significantly making them much slower.
This didn't really help in this situation since the Void Creature clearly had no blood, but it did help Belladonna as her blood flowed many times faster and her body became stronger by several fold.
"Alright you abomination. Let's fight." She said, grinning behind her mask
