Chapter 174 One-Sided
Chapter 174 One-Sided
One-Sided
Immediately, the Djinn gave the go-ahead, and all his companions backed away and gave the two fighters a large amount of space.
From the stronghold, the soldiers noticed that things were about to get heated, and the atmosphere turned tense. However, it wasn't because they were worried about Kim losing, far from it.
'Hopefully, we don't end up as collateral damage.' That was what most of them were scared of. Then again, they had no reason to worry as the fortress was more durable than that.
'Judging by her body structure, she's most likely extremely agile, so my priority will be to remove her ability to pick up spee-' The Djinn who had been watching Kim closely wasn't able to finish his train of thought.
A fist crashed right into his featureless before he could even react, and his body shot away like a cannonball.
No one was able to react properly as it had been that fast, and it was only when they all heard a loud collision where the Djinn's body had been planted into the side of a distant mountain did they realize what happened.
'What the-' The Djinn was still reeling from the impact as it tried to pick itself up. It hadn't sensed any spatial fluctuations, so she hadn't teleported. Was that simply her raw speed?
It couldn't dwell, however, as Kim was upon it once more.
It caught a brief flash before its face was grabbed, and the next thing he knew, his body was being smashed across the ground as Kim ran at absurd speeds.
'She's... too fast!' The Djinn exclaimed as he tried to mobilize his Mana, but Kim gave him no time as she spun her body and threw him with incredible force.
His body smashed through several mountains, and before he could process what happened, Kim was already above him with both her legs pulled back. She kicked downwards and smashed his body into the ground with horrific force, which caused the ground to explode.
'Ngh! My barrier is barely keeping up!' The Djinn was getting increasingly frustrated, but Kim was simply too fast. If not for his Transcendent barrier, he'd have taken serious damage already.
Kim was about to unleash another barrage of fierce attack, but her ear twitched and she flashed away just as a massive tornado spawned directly on the Djinn made completely of wind blades that shredded everything in the vicinity.
Her tail swayed as she crouched down, almost getting on all fours as she watched the development with quiet excitement.
The Djinn stood up and released a torrent of wind from his body that was absorbed into the tornado. Using the brief respite the tornado brought him, he gave himself time to think.
'She's fast, overwhelmingly so. I can't get her to get a hold of me again.' It thought and rubbed a hand across his chest, which had a clear depression that was slowly filling out. Even with his Transcendent barrier, Kim's last attack still dealt heavy damage.
'The question is, how do I restrict her speed? This tornado was totally spontaneous, but she evaded it with ease.' He mused as he kept his eyes on Kim, who simply observed him through the tornado. The sight of her glowing slitted pupils watching him intently through a tornado that could slice apart an ordinary planet was certainly unnerving, but he didn't let it get to him.
'No matter, I'll just have to tire her ou-...!'
"You're taking a lot of time," Kim whispered into his ear softly, and he shuddered.
The stronghold also activated its barrier to protect itself and its inhabitants.
'She isn't fazed even after all this.' The Djinn thought darkly as Kim simply stood in front of it with that same anticipatory gleam in her eyes. She was completely unperturbed by the terrifying twisters that were sucking up everything in their path.
Still, it couldn't stop its attack now.
He let out a powerful yell as wind blades longer than cities descended from the sky on Kim's position. However, despite their size, they were not slow by any means, and they completely surpassed the speed of any wind blades the Djinn had released before.
They weren't just bigger either as each one was capable of slicing through concepts and causing irreparable damage to the world.
Kim looked at all of this, and her cat-like smile turned into a grin. Electricity danced in her eyes as she started to... warm up.
She hopped from one foot to another and cracked her neck, not looking even the least bit concerned by the terrifying attacks that were about to land on her.
As she warmed up, sparks of lightning started to dance around her body, becoming increasingly violent, until...
BOOM!
Electricity erupted from her body in the form of a shockwave and shattered the ground beneath her.
At that very moment, the world seemed to slow down in her eyes. The twisters, the wind blades, everything seemed to move at a snail's pace to her.
With a wide grin on her face, her body blurred as she moved.
From an outsider's point of view, they would have seen the terrifying attacks descending on Kim, then the next moment, they'd see all the twisters, the wind blades the dense black clouds, all be sliced apart by vibrant blue electricity in the shape of claws.

'... What...?' The Djinn was stunned.
One moment, its attacks had been about to land on Kim. It had a feeling she would avoid them somehow, so it was quietly preparing something else.
Yet Kim simply vanished from his line of sight, and so did all his attacks, completely eviscerated in an instant.
He couldn't fathom it. How? How was a being that hadn't Transcended possess such speed? Such strength.
Then he became aware of the claw marks on his chest. Kim clearly hadn't limited her attacks to just destroying the attacks the Djinn released.
Having her bloodline evolved, coupled with her Totality Physique, four attributes that complimented each other to an extreme degree, having access to Void-Forged Mana, and equipment that had been forged by Christopher personally before getting enhanced by the Dimension tens of thousands of times, Kim's strength wasn't something that could be quantified by her rank alone. The same applied to everyone else within the cohort. It was just that Christopher made it seem like they weren't all that, otherwise, they weren't ones to be messed with.
