Chapter 152 Mother Daughter Chat
Chapter 152 Mother Daughter Chat
Mother Daughter Chat@@@@
The mother and daughter pair sat there silently for a moment. They were close enough to the balcony to observe the bustle and hustle of the Haven of the Enlightened below, watching different people of different races moving around and interacting with each other without any sort of aversion or distaste. It was... normal.
"How is he?" Sylvaris asked suddenly, and Aisha tilted her head, her hands never stopping.
"Master? He's alright I suppose." Hearing this, Sylvaris gave Aisha a look.
"I meant how is he as a person? You're basically his personal assistant. You should know more about him than most of the people in this place." It was Aisha's turn to give her mother a look.
"... Is the Elven queen trying to gossip right now?" Her tone was filled with incredulity, and Sylvaris snorted.
"So what? We're both women. It's nothing new." The answer made Aisha's lip twitch, but she just sighed and spoke.
"He's... strange." She admitted.
"At first glance, he seems to be very carefree and does whatever he wants. He behaves as though he doesn't put too much thought into his actions and just goes with the flow. But that's only the surface." Her gaze shifted upwards.
"On a deeper level, He's very meticulous, and dare I say cunning. There aren't a lot of things that can shock him or catch him off-guard. Even if he doesn't account for a certain possibility, he keeps a level head and doesn't overreact.
"Following that same vein, he's very diligent and hardworking. If he isn't doing something that requires physical effort, his mind is always running. Sometimes he gives me access to some parts of his mind, and the number of calculations and scenarios that are running are astounding. One would be sorely mistaken if they assumed he was simply standing doing nothing. He works hard, probably the hardest out of anyone here." Aisha smiled slightly.
"But he's also very expressive. He doesn't hesitate to state what he wants, but he also doesn't try to tone down his reactions to certain things unless he has to. Whether it's embarrassment, joy, amusement, irritation, etc. He isn't afraid to make his feelings known. If I had to describe it, it's a little... innocent, in a way." She chuckled a little.
"He also places a lot of value on his personal enjoyment. If he has a task at hand, he will complete said task, but he doesn't kill any possibility of enjoying himself in the process. He will complete the task to the best of his ability, but he will make sure to have fun in the process. Because he believes that if someone simply focused on their goals and ignored every other aspect of themselves in the process, then there's no point in living." Hearing this, Sylvaris' eyes widened slightly, but she said nothing and allowed her daughter to continue speaking.
"Moreover, he cared about us, his people deeply. Take the Genesis Corps for example. When he looks at them, he doesn't see them as tools or as a means to an end. He sees them as people who devoted their lives to him and sees it as his responsibility to take care of them and make sure they don't die. Some time ago he was torn over how he could make sure none of the soldiers died without making them complacent or lax due to knowing that they wouldn't be killed under any circumstances. Which is another thing that's notable about him.
"He isn't a perfect leader, and more than a few times I've had to chip in some advice due to him overthrowing something or not placing too much importance on certain things. But he isn't scared of being called out or asking for advice either. He either asks for my input or the input of his weapons, and he compares them before asking if his final decision makes sense and goes along with it when we give him the green light." Aisha's gaze became a little wistful.
"But he has his conflicts as well. Not too long ago, he was feeling a sense of guilt because he was making plans for how he would make his people be genuinely loyal to him and not just because of the influence of the Primordial Expanse. But his dagger, Norn, called out the slight Hypocrisy in his reasoning since whether or not they were genuinely loyal, they still wouldn't have a choice but to serve him. But despite that, he was still committed to having everyone serve him wholeheartedly and not just because they had to.
"Moreover, he doesn't talk about it to anyone, but I think your theory about him being lovesick is true. He hides his thoughts well, but the few times he gives me access to his mind, I sometimes catch glimpses of a certain woman, who I believe is the person Lady Belladonna spoke of, and her influence in his mind is deep." She sighed.
"His position isn't much different from mine..." Sylvaris arched a brow.
"One of the other sect leaders?" She ventured and Aisha shook her head causing Sylvaris to frown.
"... One of their assistants?" Aisha shook her head again.
At this, Sylvaris thought long and hard.
'Someone who has similar power to her and is in a similarly high position... hm... oh!' Sylvaris' eyes lit up slightly and she gave a sly smile, completely different from her reserved and aloof persona.
"Could it be that Titus kid?" Aisha blushed even more, but she didn't shake her head this time.
Sylvaris' smile turned into a full grin. But it wasn't teasing as she was genuinely interested.
"When did it happen?" Aisha coughed to hide her embarrassment.
"It started during the war against the Voidwalkers... but it was solidified when we fought together during the specialized training before we got to this place." She admitted and Sylvaris nodded, not too surprised.
"He has been performing quite well lately. No wonder you've fallen for him. He's quite the looker too..."
"Mom!" Aisha shouted in embarrassment, her concentration almost breaking.
Sylvaris laughed, the sound like soft wind chimes.
"Why so embarrassed? I didn't react like this when you asked me if I liked the Master." Sylvaris said and Aisha gritted her teeth.
"Because unlike you, I'm still young and haven't fallen in love before! This is new for me!" She retorted and Sylvaris gave a genuine motherly smile.
"I understand. Don't worry, I'll teach you everything I know to make it easier." Hearing this, Aisha looked at her with surprise.
"Aren't you meant to be busy?" She asked and Sylvaris shrugged.
"As they say, learning how to create clones is a necessity."
