Chapter 121 Fierce Battle III

Fierce Battle III

"Blissful Ignorance."

"Petrificatiom Stare." Two powerful moves were activated at once.

It was pretty much invisible, but the effects were clear as day.

Two things happened when those moves were activated.

First, Lenax staggered, and his eyes turned slightly dazed and unfocused.

Second, his body started to stiffen up involuntarily, and on certain spots of it, grey patches started to appear. Stone.

Titus' eyes flashed, and he shot forward in a ray of light. Though Felicia didn't follow him this time as she had turned deathly pale after using that skill, clearly, it had taken a lot out of her.

And the same could be said for the Centaur woman as she slumped to the ground while panting.

Titus raised Velthar and struck, but at the last moment, Lenax opened his gaping maw and used one of his terrifyingly sharp teeth to block the blade.

'Okay, what the actual fu-' Titus couldn't finish his ghought process as a chilling blue light started to rise from Lenax's throat.

I cursed and tried to use his magic to push himself out of the way. But he wouldn't be fast enough.

However, a bright blue chain that seemed to be made of pure energy whipped forward and wrapped around his waist before pulling him away. And a moment later, a thick blue beam shot out and hit the cavern ceiling and pierced through it like it was butter, reaching the surface and shooting into the sky like a blue pillar.

Titus landed near Curtis, who had pulled him using Nova, and the two of them locked eyes for a moment before shooting forward again.

Lenax still looked dazed, and there were more stony patches on his body, but he was still moving. But he was also considerably slower than before.

The dragon snarled and swiped its claw at them, and a literal wave of ice shards surged towards the two. Aiming to rip them to shreds.

Titus raised Velthar above his head and imbued it with light and wind before slashing down, and an incandescent slash went into the wave and sliced it in half, giving the duo enough space to pass through.

They closed the distance, and Titus realised that he was about to engage in pure, close quarters combat with the most physically oriented person in the entirety of the Primordial Expanse, second only to his Master.

'... I'll be fine.' He thought bleakly as he raised his sword just as Lenax raised his claws.

And in the next instant, a very deadly dance began.

The silent agreement was that Titus would focus on offense, and Curtis would focus on defense. But when they actually got close enough to trade blows, it became a game of how long they could last before they got grazed and died.

Despite being dazed, bound, and slowly turning into stone, the Dragon was still an absolute disaster to deal with in close range.

Every part of its body was a weapon, its teeth, claws, tail, and even scales.

'If I die, then I'll haunt you forever.' Titus said, and he heard a snort.

'Yeah, right. You can't actually die in this place. You should know that already.' Titus resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

Then, without thinking too much about it, he suddenly reversed the grip on Veylthar and thrusted it right into his chest, where his heart was.

He tensed and expected a blinding pain. However, the pain never came.

ROOOOOAAAAAAR!!!

Suddenly, an earth-shattering roar erupted from Lenax, one filled with pain.

Its entire body spasmed, and blood poured out of its mouth like a waterfall. It only took a moment for Titus to reakise what had happened.

'She... swapped our fates.' Indeed, among Aisha's arnseal of Fate-based abilities, one of them was something called Fate swap. And it did just that. She could swap the fate between two people. Be it herself or two other targets.

Granted, the skill costs an ungodly amount of energy, and using it on a creature such as Lemax, even if it was a clone, was sure to tap her out immediately.

Still, the returns were worth it, as not only had Titus not taken any damage from his seemingly suicidal act, he had also managed to not only pierce the Dragon's heart, but he did something that was almost equally lethal, and that was deal direct soul damage.

Soul damage, actually, depended on where the opponent was hit. It couldn't be blocked, but the amount of damage dealt depended on the part of the body that was hit.

This meant that even though Titus had only 'pierced' Lenax's heart while he had completely thrusted through his shoulder and wing nit too long ago, he had actually done significantly more soul damage with the former than the latter.

'Thanks, Aisha.' He said sincerely before shooting forward like a comet.

In an instant, he reached Lenax's forehead and pulled his sword back and poured as much Mana as he could into the weapon, causing it to shine with a blinding radiance that forced everyone in the cavern to close their eyes.

Lenax tried to roar, but all that came out was a torrent of blood.

'Elder disciple, you really are incredible.' Titus thought with genuine admiration.

It is a clone. And yet a clone managed to singlehandedly match a squad comprised of some of the most powerful people in the Dimension.

Then again, it made sense. Everyone within Christopher's cohort was a monster in their own right, while Christopher himself was simply an anomaly.

As such, Tutus had nothing but respect in his heart as he stared the clone in its eyes.

'Still, I'm ending this now.' Then, with a yell, he thrust Veylthar.

The sword pierced right into Lenax's head, and a bean of light came out of the back.

Blood leaked out of its eyes, and it looked at Titus, it gaze containing both surprise and approval. Then it's life force faded.

With one last roar, the powerful beast collapsed to the ground, dead.
