Chapter 192: Wang Family Attacks

Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Wang Family Attacks

After leaving the Taoist Hall, Alex didn't hurry to his destination. He first stayed at an inn near the base of Mount Longhu for a few days. During this time, he wandered leisurely through the scenic spots of the mountain, enjoying the experience as an ordinary tourist before finally setting off.

The Wang family wasn't significant enough to disrupt his plans or make him abandon his leisurely tour just to deal with them hastily.

For Alex, these so-called "pests" were secondary; enjoying life was what truly mattered.

With his current level of power, unless he encountered an equal or superior being, he had already achieved a state of invincibility and immortality.

Back in his weaker days, his desire for strength stemmed from a longing for a better life and enjoyment. If, after reaching such heights, he abandoned that initial desire and continued to chase power for power's sake, he'd lose his essence.

At that point, he would no longer be the master of his strength but a slave to it.

It was a simple truth, yet countless people throughout history, despite knowing it, fell into this trap.

Moreover, Alex didn't just linger at Mount Longhu for leisure. Another reason was to allow the Wang family time to prepare and gather their strength.

If he were to launch a surprise attack and they failed to unleash their full power, it would rob him of much of the fun.

After checking out of the inn, Alex began walking toward the Wang family's location.

It didn't take long for him to notice multiple concealed gazes fixed upon him.

Even though these observers tried their best to stay hidden, and despite Alex sealing most of his power to its bare minimum, the residual energy radiating from him was still overwhelming for the weaker individuals in this world.

Effortlessly, Alex located them one by one and swatted them down like flies.

Using nothing more than the sheer power of his physical body—he obliterated them.

With strength dozens of times greater than the Hulk, he could easily level mountains and part seas. In this world, his might was like an attack from another dimension.

Alex didn't even need to touch their bodies. A simple wave of his hand generated explosive shockwaves through the air, and the resulting force crushed them into oblivion.

Once he eliminated all of them, Alex resumed his journey. The Wang family, clearly shaken, switched to modern technological surveillance to monitor him.

Drones hovered several hundred meters above him, trailing his every step. Their high-definition cameras captured his every move, transmitting the footage to a remote location.

But these drones posed no threat to Alex.

When he first arrived in the Marvel Universe, he had already faced off against Colonel Stryker's advanced military forces. Compared to the Marvel Universe's drones, the Wang family's devices were like children's toys.

With a flick of his hand, Alex sent out a few energy pulses, effortlessly destroying the drones.

As he moved forward, the environment grew increasingly desolate. With no people around, the Wang family's tactics became more audacious.

Suddenly, Alex raised his hand, halting in his tracks.

When the projectile reached him, he caught it effortlessly between two fingers—a 12.7x99mm bullet.

Looking toward the source, Alex spotted a fully armed assassin lying on a distant hillside. Through binoculars, the assassin stared at Alex in stunned disbelief.

In front of the assassin lay a finely crafted Barrett anti-material sniper rifle.

This Barrett sniper rifle was clearly different from ordinary models. Its body was engraved with various intricate runes, as was the bullet Alex had just caught between his fingers.

The assassin gulped nervously as he watched Alex stop the bullet with just two fingers. Without hesitation, he picked up his custom Barrett and began retreating.

This was no ordinary sniper rifle. Its power far surpassed that of standard Barrett models. The runes inscribed on both the gun and its bullets granted additional armor-piercing and speed-enhancing properties. The weapon could penetrate even a two-meter-thick concrete wall with ease.

And yet, this monster of a man had stopped its bullet with just two fingers.

The assassin had never encountered such a terrifying individual.

Forget it. No matter how high the reward for this mission, he wanted no part of it.

After all, the most important quality for an assassin wasn't overwhelming strength or efficiency in killing—it was knowing their own limits.

Self-awareness is the key to surviving dangerous missions, allowing assassins to continue enjoying life. After all, aside from a few psychotic killers who revel in bloodlust, most assassins are in this line of work for one reason—money.

The assassin retrieved two talismans and slapped them onto his body.

These were Daoist Swift Talismans, rumored to have been crafted by a high-level practitioner. He had paid an enormous price to acquire two of them, keeping them for emergencies like this.

Now was the perfect moment to use them.

With the talismans' enhancement, the assassin fled at incredible speed, further aided by the lightweight movement skill he had refined over decades of training.

Although his combat abilities were average, his assassination skills with firearms and his mastery of escape techniques were unparalleled, earning him the codename "Shadow" in the assassin world.

Under the talismans' boost, he felt as though he had reached his peak speed. Even a speeding car wouldn't be able to match him, let alone that terrifying monster.

But just as this thought crossed his mind, he suddenly felt a cold sensation on his forehead, and his consciousness was instantly plunged into eternal darkness.

One assassin spoke confidently:

"He's definitely dead. With an explosion of this magnitude, there's no way anyone could survive. If he somehow does, then maybe he really is the Immortal Master of legend."

A female assassin added with conviction: "Even if he survives the explosion,

he'll be gravely injured.

Don't forget, in addition to nearly ten tons of explosives, we also placed a variety of poisons in the area.

The toxins will spread with the blast, saturating the entire vicinity. These poisons are so lethal that a single breath is enough to kill someone. There's no way Alex can escape this!"

Although they said this with confidence, a lingering unease gnawed at their hearts.

Before this ambush, every time they had acted against Alex, they believed success was assured, only for him to emerge unscathed while their comrades were systematically slaughtered.

Now, even though they were certain that Alex couldn't possibly have survived the explosion, they dared not be overconfident. Plans were already in place for a follow-up attack in case he somehow survived, albeit gravely injured.

As the smoke began to clear, the assassins' hearts pounded uncontrollably in anticipation of the results.

This kind of involuntary reaction was utterly unprofessional for killers, but Alex had pushed them to their psychological limits. He had instilled in them a deep sense of invincibility, making them question the very possibility of defeating him.

Where once they were calm and calculating assassins, now they were desperate gamblers, throwing everything they had into one last reckless bet.

---

Finally, the smoke dissipated, revealing the scene hidden within. What they saw made their hearts sink.

The bridge was utterly destroyed, its remnants submerged in the waters below. But at the center, where the explosion had been most concentrated, stood a figure suspended in midair.

A man with long, flowing white hair and piercing blue eyes.

His hair swayed in the fierce wind, and his otherworldly gaze looked down upon them from above.

Despite enduring such a massive explosion, Alex remained unscathed—not a single mark on his skin, not even a speck of dust on his clothes.

He stood in the void, apart from the world, an untouchable figure.

And at this moment, the "mortals" beneath him were only the assassins.

---

"Run."

The thought erupted simultaneously in every assassin's mind.

Any intention of attacking him evaporated.

A massive explosion capable of obliterating everything had failed to harm him. What hope did mere mortals like them have against such a being?

The psychological pressure Alex had placed on them throughout their encounters finally reached a breaking point. Their nerves snapped, leaving only panic and despair.

One assassin turned and fled, shouting in panic: "Immortal Master! He really is the Immortal Master! Master, I understand now. The reason we can't beat him is because he's divine!"

Another assassin screamed in hysterics: "No! I want to live! I've spent half my life building up a fortune of billions. I just married a wife twenty years younger than me. I can't die here!"

---

High above, Alex watched the assassins scatter in all directions, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.

He had been looking forward to a thrilling fight.

But this?

This was it?

Fine. If you won't give me a proper fight, then you have no further purpose.

---

Raising a hand, Alex executed the opening move of Fenghou Qimen, a mystical technique of this world.

In the blink of an eye, an unimaginably vast geomantic compass materialized beneath him, expanding outward at incredible speed.
