Chapter 812: "Delaying Time"
Chapter 812: "Delaying Time"
Chapter 812: "Delaying Time""General, please calm down. Let me talk to him. He just needs a moment to think things through. I'm his best friend, and he listens to me," Jerry interjected, standing up to defuse the situation.
Clark was about to argue, but Jerry's voice resonated in his mind. "Don't be so direct. Let's stabilize them first and see what they do next."@@@@
Jerry knew that Zod and his men hadn't attacked Earth yet.
If he and Clark had eliminated them now, they wouldn't have earned much trust or gratitude from the human government. He wanted to expose Zod's true intentions first.
"Fine, let me think about it," Clark replied, his voice heavy with reluctance.
Seeing that Jerry could indeed influence Clark, Zod decided against immediate action.
"Very well, Mr. Jerry. I will allow you and your family to live in a special place after Earth is transformed," Zod said. Then he turned to Faora. "Take them to a room to rest for now and bring them to see me in half an hour."
"Yes, General," Faora saluted, then led several Kryptonian soldiers to escort Clark and Jerry to a lounge on the battleship.
After they left, a bald Kryptonian scientist carefully collected the blood Clark had vomited and placed it into a special examination machine.
"General, do you believe what they said?" the scientist asked.
"No, there's something suspicious about the Earthling who came with Kal-El. But our priority is finding the Codex," Zod replied, shaking his head.
As the highest military leader, he was no fool. Clark's insistence on bringing Jerry and Jerry's ability to survive in the Kryptonian environment were both red flags.
Moreover, Zod sensed that Jerry didn't seem to fear them, which was highly unusual.
Zod had ordered Faora to take the two to a "resting room," which was actually a prison cell under constant surveillance. He wanted to see what they were planning.
If Clark willingly handed over the Codex, it would be ideal. If not, Zod was prepared to capture Clark's loved ones to force his compliance.
"General, I have a hypothesis, but I need time to verify it," the scientist said, taking Clark's blood back to the lab.
"Test your hypothesis. I will keep an eye on them." Zod nodded and pressed a button on the console beside him. Instantly, a large virtual screen lit up, displaying Jerry and Clark in the room.
"Jerry, what do we do now?" Clark asked once Faora and the others had left them in a room with Kryptonian decor.
Jerry surveyed the room, noting the hidden surveillance. "First, we need to buy time and gather information. They're watching us, so we need to be careful about what we say and do."
Clark nodded, looking worried. "Zod wants to destroy Earth and rebuild Krypton here. We can't let that happen."
Their conflict arose from their differing visions for Krypton's future.
When Krypton's resources were depleted, Jor-El and the Council chose to accept their fate, believing their civilization had reached its end. They felt that everyone's future was predetermined from birth, leaving no hope for change.
Clark and Jerry, in the room full of Kryptonian technology, continued their silent conversation.
"Jerry, what should we do now?" Clark asked once Faora and the others had left.
Jerry surveyed the room, noting the hidden surveillance. "First, we need to buy time and gather information. They're watching us, so we need to be careful about what we say and do."
Clark nodded, his expression tense. "Zod wants to destroy Earth and rebuild Krypton. We can't let that happen."
"We won't," Jerry assured him. "We need to find the Codex before Zod does. We also need to expose his plans to the human government. They need to see Zod for what he really is."
"But how do we do that without getting captured or killed?" Clark asked.
"We use their overconfidence against them," Jerry said. "Zod thinks he's in control, but he's underestimating us. We need to make them think we're cooperating while we look for a way to turn the tables."
With Earth's fate hanging in the balance, they had to outsmart Zod and his forces, ensuring humanity's survival and thwarting Krypton's destructive resurgence.
The reproduction of Kryptonians depends on the genes of the Codex. If there is a lack of people in a certain position, the genes are transferred. Reproduce one, just like a robot.
Clark is the only Kryptonian born naturally in the entire Krypton. Joe thinks Clark is the hope for the future of the entire Krypton.
But Zod doesn't think so. He thinks the social form of Krypton is the most perfect. Since the energy of Krypton has been exhausted, it is time to occupy a new planet with life and transform it into a new Krypton.
Many years ago, Krypton already had this advanced technology. He doesn't understand why the Elders want to watch Krypton perish.
Now Krypton is about to be reborn in his hands. As long as Clark is willing to join, he will be the hero of Krypton's rebirth.
