Chapter 804: "Man Of Steel"
Chapter 804: "Man Of Steel"
Chapter 804: "Man Of Steel"Metropolis, in front of the Daily Planet.
Jerry, who is now in human form, approached the reception desk with a strange glint in his eyes, before asking the company's beautiful receptionist, "Excuse me, is there a reporter named Clark Kent here? I have something to discuss with him."
"Clark? Sorry, we don't have a reporter named Clark here. You must be mistaken," the receptionist replied without hesitation, with her expression slightly vacant before continuing her work.
Jerry pondered for a moment before continuing, "Is there a reporter named Lois Lane here?"
"Miss Lois had a quarrel with the president two weeks ago and went out on a field assignment. I heard she's been in Kansas recently," the receptionist answered quickly, still with a dull expression.
"Okay, I see... thank you, Miss!," Jerry nodded and turned to leave.
As soon as he exited, the receptionist snapped back to reality, confusion clouding her face. "What just happened? Why did I reveal so much company information to a stranger? Is it because he was so handsome?"
"If he's not in Metropolis, he might still be in Kansas," Jerry thought.
After leaving the Daily Planet building, Jerry reverted to his cat form, spread his wings, and flew toward Kansas at supersonic speed.
Having cleaned up Gotham, he had crossed over to Metropolis to use Superman as a reference point to determine which DC universe he was in.
He initially planned to use name positioning to locate Superman, but found that Superman was constantly on the move, making it impossible to pinpoint his location.
The name positioning method allows one to locate a target based on a rule, but it's only effective if the target isn't rapidly moving. With Jerry's current, not fully restored strength, he couldn't match Superman's speed.
Superman could be in the East one moment and the West the next, making the task cumbersome.
He doesn't want to waste too much time just for a chance to speak with him, that's why Jerry thought it would be better for him to wait for him in one spot and talk to him.
So, Jerry decided to wait for Superman at his home or workplace, which would be easier and more convenient. Superman's Earth name was Clark Kent, and his girlfriend was Lois Lane.
Since Superman hadn't started working in Metropolis yet and Lois was in Kansas, Jerry had a good guess about the plot.
Kansas, Smallville, Kent Farm.
Jerry transformed back into a human and walked up to the farmhouse, pressing the doorbell.
After a moment, the door opened to reveal a woman in her fifties with a puzzled expression.
"Yes, sir, can I help you?" she asked.
Listening to Lois's story, Jerry finally discerned which DC universe he was in. It was clear that he was in the timeline of the movie "Man of Steel," which connects to the cinematic Justice League.
"It seems my strength should be restored soon," Jerry mused while smiling as if satisfied hearing Lois' answer.
Knowing he was in the universe of the movie Justice League, his thoughts immediately turned to the Mother Box and the Anti-Life Equation, two of the most powerful objects in this universe.
These artifacts contained infinite energy and nearly all the laws of the universe. If he could integrate and absorb them into the Bell Universe, his strength would be significantly restored.
While he wouldn't reach the full power of his Marvel main soul, he could at least regain the strength he had when he initially entered the single universe.
The Mother Box was a marvel of the highest technology in this universe. It facilitated ultra-long-distance teleportation within the cosmos and contained boundless energy. It could alter the gravitational constant of an area, sense danger and life, create force fields and electronic networks, and rearrange the molecular structure of matter. Superman's resurrection, for example, was possible due to the Mother Box's ability to restructure matter at a molecular level.
Scientifically, the Mother Box could restore interactions between particles. It was akin to a house being burnt down; while the house's particles remained as ash, the Mother Box could reassemble those ash particles back into house particles.
As for the Anti-Life Equation, it was even more terrifying than the Mother Box. With mastery over the Anti-Life Equation, one could control the will of all life in the universe.
With the two powers in his hands, Jerry could easily alter life the way he wanted to as long as he could regain his power and then control them.
However, merging these two powerful objects into the Bell Universe was no small feat.
Jerry needed to regain some of his lost strength; otherwise, he wouldn't be able to control them even if he managed to acquire them.
In the farmhouse, Jerry's mind raced with plans. He needed to recover enough power to seize the Mother Box and the Anti-Life Equation. His current form, while useful, had limitations. It was time to strategize and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Kansas was just the beginning. His journey to restore his strength and uncover the full potential of this universe was far from over.
With newfound determination, Jerry knew that every step he took brought him closer to his ultimate goal.
But with this scenario ahead, Jerry knew it wasn't going to be an easy task... Because he is going to fight against some of the powerful entities in the DC Universe while he hasn't gotten used to dealing with his own shortcomings.
