Chapter 1223: She Risked Her Life to Protect Her Nephew, Yet Ruthlessly Aborted Her Own Children
"It’s truly the union of Arlo Seys and Ariel Morris! Such a sharp tongue for the sake of food! Yet, he still has that ’I’m a noble gentleman’ aloof demeanor!"Ryan Seys got hold of the watermelon he had been longing for, scooped it up with a small spoon, and sent it into his mouth, savoring it with elegant manners. After a few bites, satisfied, he scooped up another piece and extended it towards Jose Floyd, "Here, have a taste, Uncle."
"Your tongue sure changes tunes quickly!" Jose Floyd glared coldly at Ryan’s calm and indifferent face.
"Auntie is more important than watermelon! I won’t sell out Auntie!" Ryan kept a serious look and stood up, standing at the very top of the sofa to feed Jose the watermelon.
Ryan was still young, standing on the very top of the sofa with the bowl, his body started to sway, scaring himself pale: "Uncle! Uncle! Save me!!"
Seeing Ryan about to fall, Jose’s face changed and he immediately reached out to steady Ryan, speaking harshly, "Don’t get yourself killed!"
"Uncle, you’re way more annoying than Uncle Cooper!" Ryan retorted to the scolding Jose.
Jose’s face darkened, and he was about to let go of Ryan’s body that he was holding. Seeing the situation change, Ryan quickly hugged Jose’s neck in fear, yelling, "Uncle, I’m your nephew!"
"Let go!" Jose commanded coldly.
Ryan hung entirely on Jose, refusing to loosen his grip in the slightest. It seemed hanging onto Jose felt much safer than standing at the top of the sofa.
"You’re truly Ariel Morris’s son! Like a sticky candy! Kid, I’m telling you, don’t push me to throw you into the sea to feed the fish!" Jose tried to pull Ryan off him, but Ryan clung to him tightly. Knowing his strength was always heavy-handed, Jose didn’t dare to use force to pull Ryan off, fearing he might unintentionally hurt the little arms and legs of this sticky candy.
If Ryan got hurt somehow, not only would Arlo Seys and Ariel Morris come after him, but Jorge would probably end their brotherhood. Most critically, if the woman upstairs woke up and found out he hurt Ryan, she would stop at nothing to kill him!
"Uncle, don’t! You will eventually be part of the Seys Family too, don’t treat me like this!" Ryan’s voice was filled with panic as he clung to Jose without letting go.
The sticky candy clung tightly to him, something quite foreign to the usual cold and unfeeling Jose. Yet the feeling Ryan gave him wasn’t all that repulsive, although his chattering could be annoying, his presence brought a bit of life and joy to the living room, especially when Jose was often lonely, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.
Jose looked at the sticky candy hanging from him, his eyes dimming, complex emotions gradually rising in his gaze.
If his first child hadn’t been aborted by that heartless woman, Nicole, it would have been about the same age as this sticky candy Ryan...
Jose absentmindedly thought: If that child were still here, would it be a boy or a girl, and would it be as clingy and shrewd as Ryan?
Ryan saw Jose suddenly fall silent, pursed his small lips, and earnestly said to him, "I will protect my aunt! I won’t let bad people hurt her!"
Jose’s gaze lowered as he watched the determined face of Ryan, feeling a complex mix of emotions, murmuring in a cold, bitter tone: "She would use her life to protect you, her nephew, yet she could heartlessly abort her two children... If both children were here, perhaps now... but unfortunately, her heartlessness has turned it all into nothing. Two little lives, her own children, and she didn’t even blink an eye to remove them..."
