Chapter 205: Prelude To The Great Flood 7 - Eamon

After Enoch’s ascension, the world trembled with anticipation. It was as though the very fabric of reality sensed the monumental changes to come. For those attuned to the divine and arcane, the signs were clear: a storm was brewing, one that would sweep away the old and usher in a new, tumultuous era.

The first signs of impending doom came with the giants. The giants’ rampage began subtly at first—isolated attacks on small villages and settlements. However, their fury quickly escalated into a full-scale onslaught. They tore through the countryside, their massive forms leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Entire cities were leveled, and their populations decimated.

The giants wielded immense strength and primal magic, making them nearly unstoppable.

In one particularly harrowing attack, a giant named Gog smashed through the fortified walls of the city of Thalamon. With a single swipe of his gargantuan hand, he reduced buildings to rubble and sent soldiers flying like ragdolls. The screams of the dying echoed through the streets, a chilling testament to the giants’ wrath.

Word of the giants’ rampage spread like wildfire, instilling terror in the hearts of all who heard it. Communities banded together, hoping to defend themselves, but even their combined strength was often insufficient. The giants were relentless, driven by a centuries-old grudge and the knowledge that their time was running out.

As the giants wrought havoc across the land, the vampires faced their existential crisis. Cain and his progenies were looking for ways to escape the purging just like the celestial council did. The looming Great Flood threatened to wipe them out along with the rest of humanity.

Desperate to survive the impending purge, Cain hatched a daring plan: they would create a pocket dimension, a haven beyond the reach of divine retribution.

To achieve this, Cain knew he needed the expertise of Eamon, the once-leader of the Arcane Builders. Eamon had once been a revered figure, known for his unparalleled skill in crafting magical structures and dimensions. However, disillusioned with the world and its endless conflicts, he had retired to a secluded life, far from the machinations of men and giants.

Cain and his progenies embarked on a perilous journey to find Eamon. They traversed desolate landscapes, evading rampaging giants and other dangers. After weeks of relentless searching, they found him in a hidden valley, a place untouched by the chaos that engulfed the world.

Cain nodded. "Yes. With immortality, you would have all the time you need to perfect your craft, to create and explore realms beyond imagination. You would never be constrained by the limits of a mortal life."

Eamon hesitated, his mind racing. The idea of immortality was tempting, offering endless possibilities. Yet, it also meant sacrificing his humanity, becoming something he had never wanted to be.

For days, Eamon wrestled with his decision. He wandered through his sanctuary, contemplating the offer. The giants’ destruction, the looming flood, and the plea for help—all weighed heavily on his mind. In the end, his desire to save lives and make a lasting impact on the world won out.

"I will do it," Eamon finally said to Cain, his voice resolute. "I will create the pocket dimension. But know this: I am doing it for the sake of those who need protection, not for your gift."

Cain nodded, respecting Eamon’s decision. "Thank you, Eamon. Your sacrifice will not be in vain."

With the agreement in place, Cain performed the ritual to transform Eamon into a vampire.
