I'm The Devil

Chapter 196: Lucifer Meets The Watchers

Chapter 196: Lucifer Meets The Watchers

50 YEARS LATER

"When will you send the great flood, Dad?" Lucifer asked, his voice calm yet filled with an undercurrent of anticipation. He sat overlooking a town steeped in sin, pain, and suffering.

To Lucifer, the sin was not repulsive; he found it perfect, a fitting place for him. What he detested was the pain inflicted on the humans who chose to stand in the path of righteousness. These humans suffered at the hands of the giants—children of the watchers, condemned because of their physical appearance and lack of celestial energy, compensated for by their brute strength.

"Should I intervene? No, that would seem like me bullying little kids" said Lucifer shooking his head at the thought of him interfering by dealing with the giants, "maybe I can go talk with their parents and let them put their children on the leash"

"Should I intervene? No, that would seem like me bullying little kids," said Lucifer, shaking his head at the thought of him interfering by dealing with the giants. "Maybe I can go talk with their parents and let them put their children on a leash."

With a sigh, Lucifer rose from his seat and spread his wings, the white feathers shimmering in the dim light. He took flight, heading towards the hidden sanctuary of the watchers, where their children—the giants—had originated. The wind whipped around him as he flew over the vast, broken landscape, the suffering and chaos below a stark reminder of the urgency of his mission.

The sanctuary of the watchers was hidden in a remote, mountainous region, cloaked in powerful enchantments. Lucifer landed gracefully at the entrance, his presence immediately sensed by the ancient beings within. The watchers emerged, their eyes wary as they sensed an unfamiliar presence.

One of them, an imposing figure with a stern expression, stepped forward. "Who are you?" he demanded, his voice echoing with authority.

The first watcher straightened, his resolve clear. "We will do what must be done, Morning Star. But know this—we will not be bullied into submission. We will handle our own."

Lucifer nodded again, his respect for their resilience evident. "Very well. I will hold you to your word. But remember, the lives of many rests on your actions."

With a final nod, Lucifer turned and took flight once more, leaving the sanctuary behind. As he soared through the skies, he hoped that the watchers would succeed in controlling their children. The balance of the world depended on it, and though he was prepared to intervene, he preferred a resolution that did not involve further violence.

Returning to his vantage point above the suffering town, Lucifer watched and waited, his thoughts a mixture of hope and determination. He had given the watchers their warning, but he would not hesitate to act if the situation did not improve.

Elsewhere

In the quiet hamlet of Eridu, nestled along the banks of the ancient Euphrates, there emerged a figure whose arrival would herald the beginning of an extraordinary journey. Enoch, in his nascent years, possessed an aura of mystery and intrigue that captivated the imagination of those around him.

Tall and lanky, with limbs that seemed to move with a fluid grace all their own, Enoch cut a striking figure against the backdrop of the bustling marketplace. His eyes, a brilliant shade of azure, shimmered with a youthful exuberance and a hunger for adventure that belied his tender age.

His unruly mane of chestnut curls framed a face that bore the faintest hint of stubble, a testament to his transition from boyhood to manhood. Though his features were unremarkable at first glance, there was a quiet intensity in his gaze that hinted at depths of character yet to be explored.

He walked into a huge house where he was wellomed by a woman with a protruding stomach and kids running up to him behind her, "welcome back home husband"
