I'm The Devil

Chapter 165: Zeus Vs The Watchers

Chapter 165: Zeus Vs The Watchers

"Be that as it may, I cannot allow you to continue meddling in the affairs of mortals," Zeus declared, his voice resonating with the thunderous authority of a god.

Baraqiel, the Watcher, regarded Zeus with an unwavering gaze, his demeanor calm yet resolute. "And who are you to dictate the destiny of mortals?" he retorted, his voice carrying an underlying tone of defiance.@@@@

The air crackled with tension as Zeus and Baraqiel stood facing each other, their opposing wills clashing like titans in the heavens above. With a swift motion, Baraqiel summoned a bolt of celestial energy, hurling it toward Zeus with unyielding determination.

Zeus, ever the formidable deity, raised his hand in response, conjuring a shield of lightning to deflect the oncoming attack. The force of the impact reverberated through the air, sending shockwaves rippling across the landscape.

Undeterred, Zeus retaliated with a barrage of thunderbolts, each one crackling with divine power as it streaked towards Baraqiel. The Watcher, displaying agility and grace, maneuvered through the onslaught, narrowly avoiding each bolt with calculated precision.

Despite Zeus’s formidable prowess, Baraqiel remained steadfast, his resolve unshaken. With a swift motion, he lunged forward, his movements fluid and graceful as he closed the distance between them.

A fierce melee ensued as Zeus and Baraqiel clashed in a whirlwind of divine fury. Thunderous booms echoed through the air with each strike, casting dazzling arcs of light against the darkened sky.

Though Zeus initially held the advantage with his godly strength and mastery over lightning, Baraqiel proved to be a formidable opponent, matching Zeus blow for blow with unparalleled skill and finesse.

As the battle raged on, Zeus found himself pushed to the brink, his divine energy waning under the relentless assault of Baraqiel’s relentless onslaught. With each passing moment, the Watcher’s determination only seemed to grow, his resolve unyielding in the face of adversity.

Despite his best efforts, Zeus found himself gradually losing ground, his movements growing sluggish and labored under the weight of Baraqiel’s relentless assault. With a final, desperate surge of divine energy, Zeus unleashed a devastating burst of lightning, enveloping Baraqiel in a blinding flash of light.

"Who are you?"

Zeus frowned when asked that question, he would not have minded if it was Semjaza who said that, but it was Azazel whom he deemed to be just a mere follower.

"And who do you think you are to question me?" Zeus asked him with a suffocating aura.

Even though Zeus was tired and weak from his earlier confrontation with the watchers, due to his training from Lucifer and the many years of war in the God Plane, he was a force to be reckoned with.

His intense aura is a testament to that.

Azazel, undeterred by Zeus’s imposing presence, stood his ground with a defiant glare, his eyes ablaze with righteous determination. "I am Azazel, Watcher of the Earth, sworn to protect and guide humanity," he declared, his voice resonating with unwavering conviction.

Though Zeus towered over him, radiating with the formidable power of a god, Azazel refused to cower in the face of his divine might. Instead, he met Zeus’s gaze head-on, his expression unyielding as he prepared to confront the king of the gods.

Zeus, taken aback by Azazel’s boldness, narrowed his eyes in silent appraisal. Though he could sense the Watcher’s unwavering resolve, he also detected a hint of something else—a flicker of defiance, tempered by a deeper sense of purpose.

"Watcher of the Earth, you say?" Zeus mused, his voice tinged with a note of skepticism. "And what makes you think you have the right to interfere in the affairs of mortals? Your duty is only to watch them."

Azazel’s gaze remained steady, his resolve unshaken by Zeus’s questioning. "The mortals are our charge, entrusted to our care by the Creator," he replied, his words carrying the weight of ancient duty. "We will not stand idly by while their destinies are manipulated by those who seek to control them."

"Aren’t you the ones who are trying to manipulate and control them?"
