Chapter 15 The Supreme Mage? Me?
Chapter 15 The Supreme Mage? Me?
October 31, 2010, New York City, Holy See.
"So, the Blood God just left like that, without a fight?"
Gu Yi nodded with a smile: "He doesn't want to lose another clone, and I don't want to waste energy either."
"So this is the end of it?" Russell asked again.
"ended."
“Great,” Russell said excitedly. “Then shouldn’t I get my wages settled?”
"Wages?" Gu Yi asked, puzzled.
"The power of the Blood God," Russell reminded him.
"Didn't you take it yourself?" Gu Yi retorted, noting that Russell had absorbed a considerable amount of energy while beating up Deacon Frost.
"That's what I earned through my own abilities; it's not considered wages," Russell argued.
"How much do you want for your work?" Gu Yi chuckled.
“Hmm…” Russell remained silent, unsure of what was appropriate.
"Master, how much energy did you harvest this time?"
As he spoke, Russell released energy equivalent to one unit of attribute point, indicating that this was the measure.
Gu Yi slowly extended two fingers.
"Twenty million?" Russell asked.
The energy transmitted from the Blood God to Earth was absorbed by the panel in about two layers, amounting to approximately 340 million units.
Did Gu Yi swindle some more from the Blood God? Otherwise, how could he have 20 million?
Gu Yi shook his head.
"Two million? That's too little." Russell shook his head, considering whether to forget about the salary.
"Two small goals," Gu Yi said with a smile.
Russell stood up abruptly, saying incredulously, "How is that possible? The total amount of energy that the Blood God transmitted to Earth wasn't even that much. Even if you took it all, Mage, it wouldn't be two hundred million."
"What you see, and what the Blood God sees, may not be the truth." The Ancient One smiled meaningfully.

The surrounding space cracked open, and Gu Yi pulled Russell into the mirror space.
“When the Blood God was transmitting energy to Earth, I used the Mirror Space to divert it,” the Ancient One explained, pointing to the largest sea of blood in the Mirror Space. “Look, the energy there is the total amount of energy that the Blood God transmitted to Earth.”
Russell looked around the mirror space.
Closest to us are several large and small seas of blood, and in the distance are various energy clusters with different attributes.
I thought I wouldn't encounter a tycoon like Blood God again for a long time, but I never expected that a big shot like him would be right next to me.
"Do you want it?"
The Ancient One's calm voice was incredibly alluring to Russell at that moment.
"Hmm." Russell nodded reluctantly.
"Then you can have them all."
"Huh?" Russell exclaimed, startled. "What are the conditions?"
There is always an ulterior motive behind everything given.
His relationship with His Holiness the Dalai Lama is not that good.
"This energy is what I have accumulated over the years (through trickery and force), and it is also the main source of my magic power in battle."
Gu Yi then explained.
"Once you become the Sorcerer Supreme and take over my role in protecting this world from the corruption of magic, these energies will be of no use to me and can naturally be given to you."
Is this a gift from a big shot?
Russell hesitated.
Are there any limitations to becoming the Sorcerer Supreme?
“Russell, the Sorcerer Supreme never imposed any restrictions.” The Ancient One’s voice was distant, as if recalling something. “It is a responsibility. To accept it, one will indeed lose a lot.”
“What have you lost, Master?” Russell asked.
"Freedom, and a peaceful night's sleep." The Ancient One sighed slowly. "I carry this world on my back, year after year."
Russell, you will become stronger than me, and you will do better than me. For me, with such a heavy burden, the future is for you...
Perhaps it's just a little hardship.
"Master, are you trying to manipulate me?" Russell said quietly. He believed the Ancient One's words, but he wouldn't listen.
Gu Yi glossed over the question: "There's no need to make a choice now, Russell. You can take your time to think it over."
His talent is too much of a counter to magical life forms.
In particular, it is effective against those mediocre dimensional lords who rely on their endless energy to cheat.
......
As Russell walked out of the Holy of Holies, a question suddenly came to mind.
Where is my pay?!
They used their immense energy and the position of the Supreme Master to distract me and take the opportunity to renege on their wages.
The cunning Ancient One!
With his thoughts on his mind, Russell returned to the bookstore.
I witnessed something quite intriguing.
George Stacy from Universe 404 and Gwen Stacy from Universe 65 are staring at each other.
Today is Halloween, and it happens to be Sunday.
George came to the bookstore to invite the owner to a community party to celebrate Halloween.
"Hello, young lady, although it's presumptuous of me, I still have to ask, do you know Helen? My goodness, you look so much like Helen when she was young."
After staring at each other for a long time, George was the first to come to his senses and asked the question.
"Helen? She's my... aunt."
My God, is Helen still alive in this world?
In Universe 65, Helen died when Gwen was a child.
“George, George Stacy.” George extended his hand. “Helen never told me that she has a niece who looks so much like her.”
Gwen seemed a little flustered. After a moment's hesitation, she took George's hand and said, "Gwen, Gwen Stacy."
“My God, your name sounds the same as my daughter’s,” George exclaimed. “But she’s only eight years old.”
As he spoke, George looked Gwen up and down again and praised her, "You are so beautiful. I hope little Gwen will be as beautiful as you when she grows up."
“I believe it will, George,” Russell said as he approached.
“Thank you for your kind words, Russell,” George replied with a smile. “By the way, are you coming to the Halloween party tonight?”
Gwen's eyes lit up when she heard about the party.
At the party, she has access to her mother, Helen—the Helen of this universe.
“Of course.” Seeing Gwen’s expression, Russell readily agreed, “Gwen and I will be there on time.”
“Okay, I’ll go inform the others.” With that, George left the bookstore.
After George had walked away, Gwen asked Russell, "Do you know George?"
Russell looked away and nodded at Gwen: "Yes."
“Can you tell me about George? And about his wife, Helen?” Gwen asked eagerly.
She was eager to learn about the Stacy family in this universe.
"Gwen, why don't you go and see for yourself?"
Russell said meaningfully.
He had said long ago that Gwen should see a psychologist!
Heart disease also requires heart medicine.
It would be good for Gwen's mental health to let her interact with George's family.
......
Russell and George had known each other for a long time.
During his investigation, George discovers that Russell has been present at numerous gang fights and murder scenes.
This is clearly not normal.
Initially, George suspected that Russell was not only a ruthless gangster but also a serial killer.
However, after investigation, these cases were found to be independent, not a series of cases, and the perpetrators were different people.
Russell was just a passerby who "happened" to be at the scene.
Sometimes, Russell would also share information with George.
Over time, Russell and George became acquainted.
As for Russell's true purpose in appearing on these occasions...
Naturally, it's for the energy of evil people after they die.
