Chapter 125 The Dimension of Dreams
Chapter 125 The Dimension of Dreams
Since the Battle of New York, in which most of New York was destroyed, the city has become much more lively.
Many people with nothing to do wander around day and night.
Conflicts and violent incidents continue to occur.
In this situation, Gwen, Matt, and Erin recruit three more street heroes who step forward to form a group and debut together.
They are:
Ghost Spider-Man - Gwen Stacy;
Spider-Man Sorcerer - Erin Smith;
Daredevil - Matt Murdoch;
Jewelry Girl - Jessica Jones;
Wonder Man - Luke Cage;
Iron Fist - Danny Rand;
The one on the ground is the personal poster of Spider-Man, the Wizard.
Although her face was covered, the white, tight-fitting combat suit and the curves of her figure clearly indicated that she was a woman.
Russell was speechless, unsure how to comment on Eileen's attempt to steal his title.
However, facts speak louder than words.
Russell flicked his wrist, using his divine power to mimic the form of a spider silk thread that shot out and landed at Stone's (Gwen's) feet.
"Look, I'm the real Spider-Man, the Wizard."
At this moment, Gwen the Younger caught up, looked at Gwen the Elder, and asked earnestly:
"Hi, Big Gwen, hello, I'm Little Gwen. May I ask why you appeared in my dream?"
"Older Gwen? Younger Gwen? What does this mean? Are you me as a child?"
Looking down, Stone (Gwen) stared at little Gwen, puzzled.
She had no recollection of a major earthquake that had struck New York when she was a child.
"No, you are two Gwens from different universes, independent individuals."
"Little Gwen is the Gwen of this universe, and she's younger. We call her Little Gwen for easier distinction."
Russell promptly offered an explanation from the side.
He was already starting to worry about how to differentiate the three Gwens if they were in the same frame.
"Different universes? Could it be that the parallel universe theory is correct, and parallel universes really exist?" Stone asked Gwen.
"I don't know what the parallel universe theory is. But there are indeed countless multiverses in this world," Russell replied.
Seeing that the two were talking and no one was paying attention to her, little Gwen complained:
"Hey, Big Gwen, you still haven't answered my question."
"Oh, I'm so sorry, little Gwen."
"But I don't know how I came to this universe, nor do I know why I appeared in your dream."
"All I remember is Peter holding my body and crying. I tried to comfort him, but he couldn't see me."
"Then, when I woke up again, I was here."
As she spoke, Gwen Stacy's expression turned sorrowful.
She had long been aware of her impending death.
She also realized the grief her death brought to her lover and family.
"Big Gwen, after you died, did anyone try to make a deal with you?"
Russell suddenly asked.
Stone Gwen's memories show clear gaps.
Stone Gwen paused for a moment, then shook her head after thinking carefully: "I don't remember it, but I'm not sure."
Not in memory ≠ not at all.
Stone Gwen also realized that she might have lost some of her memories.
“Big Gwen, I have a way to recover some of your lost memories, but I need your cooperation to lower your soul defenses.”
It's fine if you don't cooperate, but Russell is a reasonable person and he respects personal privacy.
"Will you see all my memories during this process?" Stone asked Gwen.
"Yes. But I promise I won't pry into your privacy, I'll only look at the part of your memories between your death and your arrival in this universe."
Russell assured him earnestly.
"I agree. One last question, why did you help me?"
"Because you are Gwen. And I want to know who brought you from another universe to this one."
Russell smiled and answered Stone and Gwen's question.
"Also, let me introduce myself again. I am Russell, the sorcerer Spider-Man and the Sorcerer Supreme."
"The guardian of the reality of this universe, protecting it from being corrupted by magic."
Stone and Gwen Strange remained silent. She understood every single word Russell spoke, and she understood the sentences they formed.
But she didn't understand the underlying context.
"How do I need to cooperate with you, Russell?"
"Just keep quiet."
As soon as she finished speaking, a wisp of shimmering white energy entered Stone and Gwen's soul, quickly locating the memory.
Countless balloons, symbolizing memories, floated haphazardly in the sky, some high and some low.
Some of the balloons have one or more lines of varying thickness.
It may be connected to the ground or linked to other balloons.
Most balloons, however, float alone.
Upon a brief observation, Russell made his discovery.
The height of the balloons symbolizes the proximity of the memories.
The thickness of the line symbolizes the depth of the memory impression.
Balloons without strings attached represent forgotten memories.
Typically, this part of the memory floats in a relatively high position.
Only a few float at very low positions.
Clearly, this part represents Gwen Stewart's lost memories.
It must be said that it's good news that this part of the memory wasn't completely destroyed.
Russell looked at the group of balloons and quickly sorted out the order.
Now that we've figured it out, we know what kind of story this part of our memory tells.
After Stone Gwen's death, she did indeed encounter a dimensional demon—the ruler of the Dream Dimension, Nightmare.
But the Nightmare wanted to trade with not Stone Gwen, but The Amazing Spider-Man.
After spending some time in the real universe, Stone's soul could no longer withstand it and fell into a state of confusion.
On the way as Stone and Gwen's soul spontaneously left the real universe and entered the Hell dimension.
Nightmare intercepted her midway and took her to the Dream Dimension as a bargaining chip to tempt the Amazing Spider-Man into a deal.
Afterwards, Nightmare infused Stone Gwen's soul into Little Gwen through a dream.
Throughout the entire process, Stone and Gwen Strange's mind was in a daze, passively receiving information.
It wasn't until it entered Little Gwen's body that it slowly recovered.
This also explains why she has no memory.
After confirming that there were no major problems with this part of the memory, Russell thoughtfully helped Stone and Gwen Stewart sort out the connections.
That way, he won't need to explain.
"Alright, Big Gwen. I've helped you regain your memories. Now, sort them out yourself."
Russell withdrew the luminous white energy and stood aside, quietly waiting for Stone and Gwen to sort out their memories.
Russell ignored little Gwen's curious gaze.
"Russell~"
"Sorcerer Supreme Russell~"
Okay, Russell still needs to explain again.
"Russell, do you know what the terms of Peter's deal with Nightmare are?"
Stone said with concern.
Little Gwen also perked up her ears.
"It's nothing more than getting Peter to serve Him, or giving Him something in exchange for your resurrection."
"Then why?"
Stone and Gwen looked at themselves, their meaning clear.
Why wasn't she resurrected?
"Devils are not trustworthy."
"It's very possible that Nightmare took advantage of the situation and, to save trouble, threw you into the body of this little Gwen from the universe."
