Chapter 6 Sister Meng Arrives
Chapter 6 Sister Meng Arrives
Wang Zian's gaze lingered on her face for a second.
Bright and beautiful.
This was the first word that popped into his mind.
The brow bone, bridge of the nose, and jawline—every line exudes an unrestrained and bold beauty.
Her lips were coated with a thin layer of lip gloss, which shimmered slightly under the light.
She stood there, her pink plush coat warmed by the store's heating, making her look like a flower that had suddenly bloomed.
Then she spoke her second sentence.
"And give me a whole bottle of yogurt too. I've been standing here all morning, my legs are about to break!"
Her voice was still so bright and cheerful, with a hint of coquettish complaining, but it wasn't really a complaint. It was more like the kind of thing a girl who was used to being pampered was saying to herself.
As she spoke, she rolled up the sleeves of her coat, revealing a section of her fair wrist. The gesture was so casual that it created a strange contrast with her delicate face.
Wang Zian's pupils dilated slightly.
Isn't this Sister Meng?
I just said I'd never seen one alive, and now I've run into one!
····
Meng Ziyi
He had seen this face in his awakened memories; it belonged to a future superstar.
In those memories, she had many memorable moments on variety shows.
But just as she said, people who don't know her will think she's a bitch at first glance.
Her features are too striking, her demeanor too outgoing, and her smile too unreserved, as if she lays all her thoughts bare on the table.
Good or bad, it's all written on his face, but that face is so beautiful that it's hard to believe it's honest.
Sister Meng must be a regular at this restaurant; the owner peeked out from the kitchen, his smile even brighter than when he was collecting money.
"Mengmeng's here! Find yourself a seat. There are a lot of people taking the exam today, so I won't bother you!"
Meng Ziyi flashed a bright smile and waved to the boss, "You go ahead with your work, don't worry about me!"
Her gaze shifted from the shop owner to the customers in the store, from the red-eyed test-takers to the anxious parents, before finally settling on Wang Zi'an.
She stopped moving.
It's not a deliberate, artificial pause, but a natural pause where the body's instinct precedes the brain's reaction.
Those big eyes, lined with eyeliner, widened slightly, and the light and shadow in their pupils trembled.
I was blown away!
Wang Zian raised his right hand and greeted her.
Hello!
Meng Ziyi blinked.
He blinked only once, and when he opened his eyes again, his expression had already adjusted.
She transformed from a "passerby stunned by the handsome stranger" into a "mature and composed senior student" in a speed as if a switch had been flipped.
"Hello, hello~!" She raised her chin in a confident arc, a familiar and friendly smile appearing on her lips; "You're a junior this year, right?"
She looked Wang Zian up and down, her gaze sliding from his face to his shoulders, and then back to his face.
Then she nodded, as if confirming something, and her smile held a genuine, undisguised appreciation.
"Junior, you're really handsome!"
Wang Zian smiled.
"Thank you, Sister Meng."
Meng Ziyi's eyes lit up instantly.
The light radiated outwards from the center of his pupils, making his entire face appear more vivid.
She leaned forward slightly, her voice carrying a hint of barely suppressed excitement and curiosity.
"You recognize me! Have you seen any of my shows? Which one did you watch?"
Wang Zian opened his mouth.
To be honest, I haven't watched any of them.
The only thing I vaguely remember is that she said some thoughtless things on a variety show, which were edited into a famous scene and went viral online.
There is absolutely no information about which dramas she has acted in or which roles she has played.
Meng Ziyi looked at his expression and burst out laughing.
"Haha, just kidding!"
She said in a very familiar tone, "You haven't had a single drama air yet, have you?"
"But it'll be soon." She held up two fingers, her tone carrying a childlike boastfulness, "Two this year."
"Junior brother, remember to help me boost the ratings!"
After she finished speaking, she paused for a moment, tilted her head, as if savoring something.
"You just called me Sister Meng. No one has ever called me that before."
"Sounds good!"
Wang Zian looked at her, and a strange feeling welled up inside him.
There was something about Meng Ziyi that he rarely saw in others; a kind of uninhibited openness that laid bare her entire being.
Her emotions are transparent; she's happy when she's happy, and curious when she's curious, without any complicated preamble or probing.
To him, this personality was like that of a different species.
Especially since she's so beautiful.
When a stunningly beautiful woman speaks to you in this way, the impact is doubled.
"Okay, I'll definitely help you contribute!"
Meng Ziyi's gaze was still lingering on his face.
It wasn't the kind of furtive eye-catching, but rather an open and honest look, as if she were admiring something she found very beautiful.
The more I look, the more satisfied I become.
She wore a simple black hoodie and cargo pants, as if she had discovered some remarkable secret.
"Have you eaten, junior brother?" Sister Meng asked warmly.
"I ate it!"
"Then I'll buy you a drink!" She said this while already taking half a step toward the freezer, her movements so quick it was as if she was afraid he would refuse.
"No need, no need!" Wang Zian quickly waved his hand and took a step back towards the door. "I have things to do this afternoon."
"It's alright! Don't be so polite with your Sister Meng."
Sister Meng took a bottle of green tea directly from the freezer and handed it to him.
Since Sister Meng was so outgoing, Wang Zian had no choice but to accept her hand.
Then Sister Meng's eyes darted around; they darted around quite noticeably.
It was so obvious that Wang Zian could almost hear the clattering of the abacus in her head.
Then she suddenly took a step closer.
"Junior brother, would you like to know the initial results?"
Wang Zian raised his eyebrows.
"Sister Meng, you know?"
Meng Ziyi nodded, her nod firm.
Wang Zian looked at her, and the first thought that popped into his mind was: How could you possibly know?
His preliminary exam had just ended less than an hour ago, and the examiners' score sheets hadn't even been compiled yet. The list of candidates for the second round of exams wouldn't be available for at least several days.
How could you, a student who hasn't even graduated yet, possibly know the outcome?
But he didn't say those words aloud.
Because Meng Ziyi had already taken her phone out of her pocket.
Rose gold iPhone 6s Plus.
The trendiest mobile phone today.
The phone case was transparent, and inside was a Polaroid photo; it looked like a selfie of her pouting and making a peace sign.
"Add me on WeChat, and I'll let you know when I get back to you!"
The true intentions have been revealed.
Wang Zian looked at the rose gold phone, then at Meng Ziyi's face, which seemed to say, "You believe me, you believe me."
Her eyes were wide open, her eyelashes unblinking, her lips slightly pursed, her whole face trying to express the same meaning.
Add me, you won't lose anything by adding me; you'll also get advance notice.
