I am the Enchantress!

Chapter 58 Celebration Party

Chapter 58 Celebration Party

Gru kept his word and prepared to invite Wilder for drinks alone to celebrate his promotion to junior mage.

Just as they were about to leave, Martha pushed open the door and walked into the ward, carrying several packed wooden meal boxes.

"You haven't eaten yet, have you? I brought some food."

She was in a rush, her red curly hair loosely tied up and casually draped over her shoulders, clearly having just finished her work at the association and come straight here.

Gru and Wilder exchanged a glance, neither intending to stay.

One of them was still thinking about the girl in the tavern.

One reason is simply that they don't want to disturb the couple's private time.

Am I eating dog food in another world?

no way!

However, something that Martha pulled out of her pocket the next second made them stop in their tracks.

It was a round, silver badge.

"The Guild's Silver Adventurer's Badge?" Cyrion sat up straight. "It's down so quickly?"

"Yes, I urged them."

Martha casually flicked the badge over, "In recognition of your heroic performance in getting injured on every adventure."

"I'm sorry to have worried you." Cyrion smiled, holding the badge.

"What's there to worry about! I'd rather die sooner!"

Martha cursed under her breath, but her hand naturally placed a pillow behind Cyrion's back to make him more comfortable.

"Great!" Gru immediately leaned over, snatched the badge, and played with it. "Now our team can take on hard-level quests too!"

Wilder then remembered that hunting the tree monster was Cyrion's fiftieth mission.

"Captain, congratulations."

"Originally, you were promoted to a junior mage and I received the silver badge, so we could celebrate both at the same time."

Cyrion said with a hint of regret, "Unfortunately, I have a leg injury and can't..."

"Can't you just celebrate here?"

Martha was opening the wooden lunchboxes she had brought one by one.

Beef stewed in red wine, pan-fried pork chops with apple puree, roasted mushrooms with herbs, thick meat patty stew...

Women tend to choose dishes differently from men; these are the kinds of delicate dishes that Cyril and his friends don't usually order.

Strangely enough, when they were placed in front of me, I unexpectedly felt very hungry.

"Celebrating in the hospital room?" Cyrion asked.

"Yeah," Martha shrugged. "Anyway, there's no one else in this room, and no one should be coming at this hour."

"Alright! Let's celebrate here!" Cyrion laughed heartily. "What do you guys think?"

"I have no objection." Gru's thick beard stood on end.

Although I can't flirt with the girls at the bar tonight, it's still nice to have drinks and chat with my teammates.

"Me too."

Wilder echoed in response.

"Gru, go and call Lyle over too. He's almost done. Buy some more alcohol on your way back. I'll pay for it."

Martha glared at him: "You have a leg injury, how can you drink alcohol?"

"What are you afraid of? There aren't many options in the forest, so I just spray alcohol directly onto the wound to disinfect it!"

He spoke with great enthusiasm, but patted Martha's shoulder in a conciliatory manner.

Martha could only nod helplessly.

After Gru left, Wilder and Martha put several wooden plank beds together and placed the lunchboxes in the center.

Not long after, Gru and Lyle returned.

They not only bought a large barrel of ale, but also packed several portions of freshly roasted meat from the pub.

"This money is on me. I was planning to treat you to drinks anyway," Gru grinned.

Lyle greeted everyone and then looked at Cyrion: "Is your injury serious?"

"It's nothing serious. I'll rejoin the team with you in a couple of days."

"That's good."

Cyrion's gaze lingered on Lyle for two more seconds.

I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I feel like he's become much stronger after his serious injury.

"Lyle, I told you that your elven bloodline is hypocritical. I told you on the way that Cyrion was fine, but you still asked again."

Gru looked at him with a grin.

Have you said that?

Lyle raised an eyebrow. "Maybe your mouth was too low, I didn't hear you, sorry."

"Not only hypocritical, but also sharp-tongued!"

As if remembering something, Lyle turned to Cyrion and Wilde for confirmation: "Gru said he single-handedly killed a treant, is that true?"

"Yes, he was killed by chopping," Cyrion chuckled, "but it wasn't exactly a one-man show."

By this time, Martha had already arranged the roast meat and poured the beer into glasses.

"How about we eat and chat?" She curled the corners of her lips slightly. "Why do a bunch of stinky men have so much to say?"

The group then sat down on the edge of the bed, just like on a traditional earthen bed in the countryside, and began a unique celebration party.

After several rounds of drinks...

Cyrion squinted at Lyle: "Lyle, I sense something's changed about you. Did you have some kind of epiphany while you were recovering?"

"Hmm, I might be close to becoming a mid-level ranger."

"Really? That's wonderful! Three good things happening at once today!"

"It's all thanks to Wilder; he was the one who suggested it and helped me have this epiphany."

Lyle raised his glass to Wilder, "I tried practicing against the wind, and it worked! A toast to you!"

"Wait, count me in!"

Cyrion leaned his glass closer, saying, "Wilder has been the tactical core of these missions. Without you, I couldn't have gotten the badge so easily!"

"And me!"

Gru burped, grinned, and said, "Without your magic, I wouldn't have been able to kill that tree spirit today!"

"Homage to Wilder!"

Seeing the three glasses brought up to him, Wilder also raised his glass to the table.

"Without you guys letting me, a newbie, join the team, I wouldn't have improved so much."

"Salute to our team!"

"Salute to the squad!"

"Cheers!"

Everyone raised their glasses in celebration and drank heartily together.

In a daze, Wilder suddenly remembered something and asked:

"Cyrion, now that you have both an intermediate-level professional certificate and a silver badge, have you considered joining the association?"

Cyrion paused for a moment, then decisively shook his head.

"I'm used to being free! I don't like being told what to do, and the guild earns less than adventurers."

He glanced at Martha sitting next to him, then, emboldened by alcohol, added, "I still need to save money to buy a house and get married!"

Martha gave him a slightly gentle, sidelong glance.

Wilder nodded, then looked at Lyle and Gru: "And you two? What are your plans for the future?"

"Plans? I don't know."

Gru was still hiccuping, responding intermittently, "I'm still young... hiccup! We'll talk about the future later! Hiccup! Life's good right now!"

"My plan is to become a high-ranking ranger; only through constant combat can I improve my abilities."

Lyle's answer was very much in line with his personality.

Wilder didn't say anything.

He didn't expect that none of his teammates were pursuing a stable life.

Adventure is not just their profession, it's more like their life.

He gradually became tipsy, staring at the ale in his glass.

Before I knew it, the system panel appeared before my eyes.

Name: Wilder

[Class]: Mage

[Level]: Lv3 (600/1000)

(750/1000)

……

Ok?

Unexpectedly, killing the tree spirit gave me experience points, a full 150 of them.

Come to think of it, it's probably because Gru was killed under his spell buffs that it was attributed to him as well.

This system is actually quite generous.

I only need 250 more points to level up.

For some reason, Wilder felt a sense of anticipation.

Should I add all two attribute points after the upgrade to Intelligence?

How many seconds can the casting speed be compressed to?

What new expertise will you gain?

……

I want to become stronger.

And the distance to becoming stronger again is only two more difficult-level missions away.

"Little guy! You've asked us all... hiccup!" Gru patted him on the shoulder. "What are your plans? Tell us... hiccup!"

Wilder blinked, and the light screen in front of him disappeared.

He raised his glass and began to speak—

"I'm planning to continue my adventures!"
