Chapter 601 Department of Mysterious Matters
Fudge still seemed unwilling to admit that he had made a huge mistake. He tried to argue that his actions would resolve the unexpected situation.
However, these things have nothing to do with Xilun.
After Voldemort escaped, he and the Weasley brothers secretly slipped back to the Department of Mysteries without being discovered by anyone.
"Thank God, you're finally back safe and sound."
As soon as the three of them walked in, Cedric ran over with a look of relief on his face.
"What's going on outside?"
"The mysterious man has escaped!" Fred said excitedly.
"Like a stray dog," George said as he walked in from outside.
"Wait a minute." Fred's eyes lit up, as if he had thought of something. "As the victors, shouldn't we just call him by his name now?"
George's smile faded slightly. He was silent for a second or two before raising his eyebrows.
"I think—yes, you're right."
"So, are you ready?" Fred asked in a low voice, his eyes sparkling.
"Of course." George took a deep breath, not out of fear, but more like a special sense of ritual.
The two exchanged a glance and said simultaneously, "Voldemort—"
Two voices overlapped, clearly and firmly proclaiming the name they had heard since childhood, but had never dared to utter aloud.
In that instant, the surroundings seemed to fall silent; the Death Eaters' painful groans and Cedric's heavy breathing all seemed to disappear.
But a moment later, these sounds returned to everyone's ears.
Then Fred grinned.
"Look, nothing happened."
"That's right, not even the curtains have been moved," George said.
Both of them appeared relaxed, but Xilun knew perfectly well that they were still a little nervous inside—because there were no curtains at all.
But they did say Voldemort's name, so they'll probably feel more and more relaxed after that.
Professor McGonagall hadn't returned yet, and seizing the rare opportunity, Celen curiously ventured deeper into the Department of Mysteries.
Speaking of which, he noticed something strange when he came in—the room behind the door was too clean.
Logically speaking, after Hagrid's brute force, Professor McGonagall's transfiguration, and the Death Eaters' various forms of dark magic, that room should have been completely destroyed long ago—just like the main hall upstairs.
But no, it was still much the same as when Xilun first came in, with hardly any signs of damage. The ground was still flat, and there wasn't even a tiny crack in the wall.
Either the place is sturdy enough to be undamaged by magic, or the damaged parts of the room had already automatically repaired themselves when they left.
It's a bit like the Room of Requirement.
Xiren recalled how, when he practiced magic in the Room of Requirement, no matter how badly he damaged the magic targets, they would immediately return to their original state after he went out and came back in—as if the room itself possessed some kind of magic.
Anyway, the House of Requirement must have some kind of magic, but the Bureau of Mysteries doesn't know.
Xilun continued forward and came to a large hall with twelve doors.
Just then, the creaking sound of an elevator door opening came from the other side of the corridor.
Xilun randomly chose a door and pushed it open. Inside was a dark room, as if floating in space. Above him were countless glowing stars, and beneath his feet was not a floor, but another planet and nebula slowly rotating. He stood in the middle of this universe.
As Siron stretched out his hand, the largest and brightest star began to move with his movement, and in the places it passed, different scenes flashed by, somewhat blurry, looking like a movie sped up a hundred times.
Learning astronomy here would definitely be twice as effective—Silen thought.
But just as he was about to continue forward, he heard Professor McGonagall's voice.
Then, the door that had just been closed was opened again from the outside.
"Oh, Siron—here, I've found him!" Professor McGonagall called out from behind, then quickly pulled Siron out of the room.
"Don't wander off. This place is more complicated than a maze. Nobody knows what dangers might be lurking inside."
"Okay." Xilun nodded in agreement, but he was still a little disappointed.
Professor McGonagall returned too quickly. If we miss this opportunity, it will probably be difficult for her to come to the Department of Mysteries again.
"Professor, where are the Silent Ones here?" Siren asked curiously. They had gone through two chaotic battles on their way here, but they hadn't encountered a single Silent One.
This seems a bit abnormal.
"I don't know, maybe they've already gone home." Professor McGonagall shook her head, not paying any attention to the question.
They soon returned to the same room as before.
Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic arrived. Sirius saw Fudge, who seemed to want to hide at the back of the crowd but kept being pushed to the front.
The Death Eaters were bound, and Hagrid was removing their masks one by one. Each time he removed one, the people from the Ministry of Magic would let out a gasp, loud or soft.
"Don't worry, Cornelius, this isn't all. Sirius will soon bring another group of Death Eaters, and perhaps some of them will be there too."
"Dumbledore—you, you need to tell me clearly—what's going on?" Fudge said in an almost sobbing voice.
Others noticed that none of the people here were from the Ministry of Magic.
Ms. Amelia Borns of the Legal Enforcement Division grew increasingly serious.
She had always thought that only Dumbledore and the Hogwarts professors were involved in this incident, but she never expected that Hogwarts students, even those who were not yet adults, were also involved.
More importantly, even though the incident was happening at the Ministry of Magic, there wasn't a single Auror or striker present.
Although Kingsley Shackleton was also an Auror, he came as a member of the Order of the Phoenix and was still not considered a member of the Ministry of Magic.
Moreover, judging from the previous conversation between Dumbledore and Fudge, Fudge knew all of this, but he said nothing and did nothing.
Amelia Borns' face was as black as the bottom of a well-used cauldron; she had never felt so eager to curse.
"Connelly, I think we should send some of them back before we talk about this," Dumbledore said.
Siren stepped forward without hesitation, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione also came over from the corner. All three of them had their heads down and looked rather down.
"Harry Potter?" Ms. Burns was startled again; she hadn't noticed the three people standing in the corner at all.
