Chapter 461 – Kearse Village’s Situation

Chapter 461 – Kearse Village’s Situation

Kearse Village was a slightly large village located 10 minutes away from London City by train. It had a population of 100 people, most of them were farmers.

When Max arrived, by not waiting 10 minutes because of the skip, he found the village eerie. The atmosphere in the air was close to a cemetery instead of a farming village.

"This looks bad, guys. Do you think the evil spirit here is strong?" He asked.

— It is definitely stronger than the previous ones

— That look, oh god. They look like zombies!

— Is this the start of a zombie apocalypse?

— It might be a vampire horror movie

Indeed, the chat was right. The atmosphere totally resembled a zombie apocalypse movie. Or a vampire familiar with a pale face, ready to suck his blood.

Max didn’t like that at all. His tong wouldn’t be able to handle vampires, it could only hold evil spirits.

But the objective literally said that he needed to exorcise an evil spirit. Although from the look of it, this one might be stronger than the previous two he fought.

To add to his confusion, the blue fire pointed in a certain direction but it didn’t lead him anywhere.

"It’s just pointing at the center of this village. Does this mean I have to find the evil spirit myself?"

That would be bad. Or maybe there would be a new objective or an NPC waiting for him at the pointed location. It was a possibility he could imagine considering his experience in Mercenary Quest where they did the same thing.

Max walked ahead, passing by many villagers who were wearing the same set of clothes. They looked pale, some even had a black spot on their neck.

It didn’t take a genius to guess what happened to them. The evil spirit definitely did something to them. Max frowned as he walked toward the center of the village while ignoring those NPCs.

When he arrived, he finally saw someone different from the villagers.

It was a man in his thirties.

Unlike the others, his skin had normal complexion. He sat while hugging his legs inside a carriage, seemingly hiding from something.

Max approached him while wondering if he was the NPC that would trigger the next objective.

The man noticed Max and stood up immediately.

He grabbed Max and pulled him inside the carriage.

"W-W-W-What are you doing? W-Why did you reveal yourself before them?!" He stuttered in panic while holding Max’s shoulders tightly.

But then, he froze immediately.

Max looked out and his expression hardened.

"Oh, no. This might be bad."

The villagers gathered around the carriage.

"Zuzuzu..." They moaned creepily as they looked at Max and Samuel with hunger.

— Oh god, here it comes. Zombie apocalypse

— Let’s see if Breeze die here

— Nah, he won’t.

Their gazes locked onto Max and Samuel, and they moved forward.

"Zuzuzu!"

"Zuzuzu!"

— Zuzu!

— Shut the fuck up

Max narrowed his eyes as he grabbed the tong in his pocket. His expression tightened as blue fire filled the sky. It meant he was indeed in the right direction and the story had just been updated.

Reaching the hole wouldn’t be... that easy. And fighting those guys, human zombies, might pose a challenge. If he was alone and knew the objective, then that was fine. He could just climb a random house and run on the roof.

But...

"This is a mission to protect Samuel. I can’t leave him behind and run away to the objective." He whispered.

— Protect Samuel!

— Save Samuel! Feed him to zombies!

— Don’t worry, Breeze. Just hit them with tong

— That’s right! Tong can grab zombies!

Max nodded as he wielded his tong. Then, he stepped out of the carriage.

The zombie villagers groaned louder when they saw Max. They dashed toward him with arms wide open, ready to devour him and samuel.
